In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. I swear by this city.

2. And you are free to live in this city.

3. And by the parent and the child he has.

4. Truly, We created the human being to face hardship.

5. Does he think no one has power over him?

6. He says, "I've wasted so much money!"

7. Does he think no one sees him?

8. Didn't We give him two eyes.

9. And a tongue and two lips.

10. And clearly showed him the two paths?

11. But he didn't take the challenging path.

12. And what can make you understand what the challenging path is?

13. It is freeing someone from slavery.

14. Or feeding someone on a day of hunger.

15. An orphan from your own family.

16. Or a poor person in misery.

17. Then being among those who believe, who encourage each other to be patient, and who encourage each other to be kind.

18. Those are the people of the right.

19. But those who reject Our verses — they are the people of the left.

20. Over them is a fire, tightly closed.
