In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. By the dawn.

2. And by the ten nights.

3. And by the even and the odd.

4. And by the night as it passes.

5. Isn't this a strong promise for those who understand?

6. Haven't you seen how your Lord dealt with the people of Aad.

7. The city of Iram, with its tall pillars.

8. The likes of which had never been built anywhere else.

9. And with Thamud, who carved their homes into rocks in the valley.

10. And with Pharaoh, who had mighty stakes?

11. They all crossed the limits in their lands.

12. Spreading corruption everywhere.

13. So your Lord poured upon them a whip of punishment.

14. Truly, your Lord is always watching closely.

15. As for the human being — when his Lord tests him by being generous, and giving him blessings, he says, "My Lord has honored me!"

16. But when He tests him, by limiting his wealth, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me!"

17. No! You don't honor the orphan.

18. And you don't encourage each other to feed the poor.

19. And you eagerly take away others' inheritance.

20. And you deeply love wealth.

21. No! When the earth is crushed to dust, again and again.

22. And your Lord comes, and the angels arrive, row after row.

23. And on that Day, Hellfire is brought near. On that Day, the human being will remember, but what good will remembering do then?

24. He will say, "I wish I had prepared for my real life!"

25. On that Day, no one will punish as severely as He does.

26. And no one will bind as tightly as He does.

27. O peaceful soul.

28. Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing to Him.

29. Join My servants.

30. And enter My Paradise.
