In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. By the sky, filled with great constellations.

2. And by the promised Day.

3. And by the witness and what is witnessed.

4. Destroyed were the people of the trench.

5. The trench of fire, burning fiercely.

6. When they sat around it.

7. Watching closely what they did to the believers.

8. They punished them only because they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

9. The One Who rules the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Witness over all things.

10. Those who tortured believing men and women, and then did not repent, will face the punishment of Hell, the burning punishment.

11. But those who believed and did good deeds, will have Gardens with rivers flowing beneath them. That is the greatest success.

12. Truly, your Lord's punishment is very severe.

13. He is the One Who originates and brings back.

14. And He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving.

15. Lord of the glorious Throne.

16. Always doing whatever He wills.

17. Has the story of the armies reached you.

18. Pharaoh and Thamud?

19. Yet those who disbelieve are still denying the truth.

20. But Allah surrounds them from all sides.

21. Surely, this is a glorious Quran.

22. Preserved safely on a protected tablet.
