In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.
1. Someone asked about a punishment that will surely happen.
2. For those who reject the truth, no one can stop it.
3. From Allah, Lord of pathways to Heaven.
4. The angels and the Spirit rise up to Him, on a Day that lasts fifty thousand years.
5. So wait patiently, with beautiful patience.
6. They think it's far away.
7. But We see it as very near.
8. On that Day, the sky will be like melted metal.
9. And the mountains will be like fluffy wool.
10. And no close friend will ask about another friend.
11. Even though they'll see each other clearly. The guilty person will wish he could escape the punishment of that Day, by giving up his own children.
12. His wife and his brother.
13. His family who sheltered him.
14. And everyone on Earth — if only it could save him.
15. But no! It is a blazing fire.
16. Pulling off the flesh.
17. Calling those who turned their backs and walked away.
18. Who gathered wealth and kept it hidden.
19. Humans were created anxious.
20. When trouble touches them, they panic.
21. And when good comes to them, they hold it back.
22. Except those who pray.
23. Who always keep their prayers.
24. And those who set aside a share of their money.
25. For those who ask, and those who are in need.
26. And those who truly believe in the Day of Judgment.
27. And those who fear the punishment of their Lord.
28. Because no one should feel safe from their Lord's punishment.
29. And those who guard their private parts.
30. Except with their spouses or those under their care, for then they're not blamed.
31. But whoever seeks beyond that — those are the ones who cross the limits.
32. And those who faithfully keep their trusts and promises.
33. And those who stand firm in their testimonies.
34. And those who carefully guard their prayers.
35. They will be honored in Gardens of Paradise.
36. So what's wrong with those who disbelieve, rushing toward you?
37. Crowding around you, from the right and the left.
38. Does each one of them really hope to enter a Garden of joy?
39. No! We created them from what they know.
40. So I swear by the Lord of every sunrise and sunset — We certainly have the power.
41. To replace them with others better than them, and nothing can stop Us.
42. So leave them to talk foolishly, and play around, until they meet the Day they've been promised.
43. The Day they'll rush out of their graves, as if racing toward a goal.
44. Their eyes lowered, covered in shame. That's the Day they've been promised.
