In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.
1. Alif. Lam. Meem. Saad.
2. This is a Book sent down to you, so don't let your heart feel uneasy about it — you are meant to warn people with it, and it's a reminder for the believers.
3. Follow what your Lord has sent down to you, and don't follow other protectors besides Him. How rarely you remember!
4. How many towns have We destroyed! Our punishment came upon them suddenly at night, or while they rested at noon.
5. When Our punishment came to them, all they could say was, "We were truly wrong!"
6. We will surely question those who received Our message, and We will surely question the messengers too.
7. Then We will tell them clearly everything they did, for We were never absent.
8. On that Day, the weighing of deeds will be fair and true. Those whose good deeds weigh heavy — they are the successful ones.
9. But those whose good deeds weigh light — they are the ones who lost themselves, because they treated Our verses unfairly.
10. We have given you power on earth and provided you with ways to live comfortably — yet how rarely you give thanks!
11. We created you, shaped you, and then said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam." So they bowed down — all except Iblis, who refused to bow.
12. Allah asked, "What stopped you from bowing when I commanded you?" Iblis replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."
13. Allah said, "Then get down from here! You have no right to be proud here. Get out — you are truly disgraced."
14. Iblis said, "Give me time until the Day they are raised back to life."
15. Allah replied, "You are given time."
16. Iblis said, "Because You let me go astray, I will wait for them on Your straight path.
17. Then I'll come at them — from in front and behind, from their right and their left — and You will find most of them ungrateful."
18. Allah said, "Get out from here, rejected and disgraced! Whoever among them follows you, I will surely fill Hell with all of you."
19. "O Adam, you and your wife, live in Paradise. Eat whatever you wish, but don't go near this tree, or you'll become wrongdoers."
20. But Satan whispered to them, trying to show them what was hidden from them — their private parts. He said, "Your Lord only stopped you from this tree so you wouldn't become angels or live forever."
21. He swore to them, "Truly, I am giving you sincere advice."
22. So he tricked them with lies. When they tasted from the tree, their private parts became visible to them, and they quickly began covering themselves with leaves from Paradise. Their Lord called out to them, "Didn't I forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is clearly your enemy?"
23. They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You don't forgive us and have mercy on us, we'll surely be among the losers."
24. Allah said, "Go down from here, as enemies to each other. On earth you'll have a place to live, and things to enjoy for a while."
25. He added, "There you'll live, there you'll die, and from there you'll be brought out again."
26. O children of Adam, We have given you clothing to cover your bodies, and as a beautiful decoration. But the clothing of righteousness — that is best. These are among Allah's signs, so that people may remember.
27. O children of Adam, don't let Satan deceive you, just as he caused your parents to leave Paradise, stripping away their clothes to show them their private parts. He and his followers see you from where you cannot see them. We have made devils friends of those who don't believe.
28. When they do something shameful, they say, "We found our parents doing it, and Allah commanded us to do it." Say, "Allah never commands shameful deeds. Are you saying things about Allah that you don't know?"
29. Say, "My Lord commands justice. Turn your faces toward Him at every place of worship, and call upon Him with true devotion. Just as He created you at first, you will return to Him."
30. Some people He guided, while others deserved misguidance. They chose devils as friends instead of Allah, yet they think they are guided.
31. O children of Adam, dress nicely at every place of worship. Eat and drink, but don't waste — He doesn't love those who waste.
32. Say, "Who has forbidden the beautiful things Allah created for His servants, and the good foods He provided?" Say, "They are for believers in this life, and only for them on the Day of Judgment." This is how We clearly explain Our verses for people who understand.
33. Say, "My Lord has only forbidden shameful acts — both open and hidden — sin, unjust aggression, associating partners with Allah without any proof, and saying things about Allah that you don't know."
34. Every community has its set time. When their time comes, they can't delay it even by an hour, nor can they speed it up.
35. O children of Adam, whenever messengers from among you come to tell you My verses, whoever is mindful of Allah and does good will have no fear, nor will they be sad.
36. But those who reject Our verses and arrogantly turn away from them — they are the people of the Fire, where they will stay forever.
37. Who could be more unfair than someone who lies about Allah or rejects His verses? Those people will receive their share of what's written for them, until Our angels come to take their souls. They will ask them, "Where are those you used to pray to besides Allah?" They will answer, "They've disappeared from us," and they'll admit against themselves that they were disbelievers.
38. He will say, "Enter the Fire along with the communities of jinn and humans who passed away before you." Each time a group enters, it will curse the group before it. When they're all gathered inside, the last group will say about the first, "Our Lord, these people led us astray, so give them double punishment in the Fire." Allah will reply, "Each of you will have double, but you don't realize it."
39. Then the first group will say to the last, "You weren't any better than us, so taste the punishment for what you've earned."
40. Those who rejected Our verses and proudly turned away from them — the gates of Heaven won't open for them, and they'll never enter Paradise until a camel passes through the eye of a needle. That's how We repay those who do wrong.
41. Hell will be their bed, and flames will cover them from above. That's how We repay those who are unjust.
42. But those who believe and do good deeds — We never ask anyone to do more than they can handle — they will be the people of Paradise, and they'll stay there forever.
43. We'll remove any bitterness from their hearts. Rivers will flow beneath them, and they'll say, "Praise belongs to Allah, Who guided us to this. We would never have found the way if Allah hadn't guided us. The messengers of our Lord truly brought the truth." Then they'll hear a voice calling out, "This Paradise is yours now, because of the good you did."
44. The people of Paradise will call out to the people of the Fire, "We found what our Lord promised us to be true. Did you find what your Lord promised you to be true?" They'll reply, "Yes." Then a voice will announce between them, "Allah's curse is upon those who did wrong."
45. Those who blocked others from Allah's path, tried to twist it, and refused to believe in the Hereafter.
46. Between Paradise and Hell there will be a barrier. On its heights will be people who recognize everyone by their faces. They will call out to the people of Paradise, "Peace be upon you!" They haven't entered Paradise yet, but they hope to.
47. When their eyes turn toward the people of the Fire, they'll pray, "Our Lord, don't place us with those who did wrong."
48. The people on the heights will call out to some people they recognize by their faces, saying, "Your large numbers and your pride didn't help you at all."
49. "Are these the ones you swore Allah would never show mercy to? Enter Paradise — you have nothing to fear, and you'll never be sad."
50. The people of the Fire will call out to the people of Paradise, "Please pour some water down to us, or share something Allah has given you!" They will reply, "Allah has forbidden them to those who rejected Him."
51. Those who treated their religion as a game and amusement, and were fooled by this worldly life — today We forget them, just as they forgot about meeting this Day, and because they denied Our verses.
52. We brought them a Book, clearly explained with knowledge — a guide and mercy for people who believe.
53. Are they waiting for its words to be fulfilled? On the Day its promises arrive, those who ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord brought the truth. Is there anyone to speak for us now, or can we go back and do things differently?" They truly lost themselves, and all the lies they made up have vanished.
54. Your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then rose over the Throne. He makes the night cover the day, chasing it swiftly. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars — each obeying His command. Remember, creation and command belong to Him alone. Blessed is Allah, Lord of all the worlds!
55. Call on your Lord humbly and quietly. He does not love those who cross the limits.
56. Do not spread corruption on earth after it has been set right. Call on Him with both fear and hope. Allah's mercy is surely close to those who do good.
57. He is the One Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy. When they carry heavy clouds, We drive them to a lifeless land, send down rain, and bring out all kinds of fruits. In the same way, We will bring the dead back to life, so you may remember.
58. Good land grows plants easily by its Lord's permission, but poor land only grows plants with difficulty. This is how We clearly show Our signs to people who are thankful.
59. We sent Noah to his people, and he said, "My people, worship Allah — you have no other god but Him. I'm afraid for you, of the punishment of a great Day."
60. But the leaders of his people said, "We clearly see you're lost in confusion."
61. Noah replied, "My people, I'm not confused at all. I'm a messenger from the Lord of all creation."
62. "I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I sincerely advise you. I know from Allah what you don't know."
63. "Are you surprised that a reminder from your Lord has come to you, through a man from among you, to warn you — so you become mindful of Allah, and perhaps receive His mercy?"
64. But they rejected him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the ark, and We drowned those who rejected Our signs. They were truly blind people.
65. And to the people of Aad, We sent their brother Hud. He said, "My people, worship Allah — you have no other god but Him. Won't you be mindful of Him?"
66. The disbelieving leaders of his people said, "We clearly see you're foolish, and we really think you're lying."
67. Hud replied, "My people, I'm not foolish at all. I'm a messenger from the Lord of all creation."
68. "I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I'm your sincere and trustworthy advisor."
69. "Are you surprised that a reminder from your Lord has come to you, through a man from among you — to warn you? Remember how He made you successors after Noah's people, and made you stronger and bigger. Remember Allah's blessings, so you may succeed."
70. They said, "Have you come to make us worship Allah alone, and abandon what our ancestors worshiped? Then bring us the punishment you promised, if you're telling the truth."
71. Hud said, "Allah's punishment and anger have already fallen upon you. Are you arguing with me about names you and your ancestors made up — names that Allah never gave any authority for? Wait then — I'm waiting with you."
72. So We saved him and those with him through Our mercy, and We completely destroyed those who rejected Our signs. They were not believers.
73. And to Thamud, We sent their brother Salih. He said, "My people, worship Allah — you have no god except Him. A clear sign has come to you from your Lord: this camel of Allah is a miracle for you. So leave her alone to graze freely on Allah's land, and don't harm her, or else a painful punishment will strike you."
74. "Remember how He made you successors after Aad, and settled you in the land. You build palaces on its plains and carve homes in the mountains. So remember Allah's blessings, and don't spread corruption on earth."
75. But the proud leaders among his people said to those who were weak and believed, "Do you really think Salih was sent by his Lord?" They replied, "We truly believe in the message he was sent with."
76. The proud ones said, "We completely reject what you believe in."
77. Then they cruelly killed the camel, openly disobeyed their Lord's command, and said, "Salih, bring us the punishment you promised, if you're really a messenger."
78. So a powerful earthquake seized them. And by morning, they lay lifeless in their homes.
79. Salih turned away from them, saying, "My people, I delivered my Lord's message to you, and I gave you sincere advice. But you don't like those who advise you."
80. And remember Lot, when he said to his people, "How can you commit such shameful acts that no one before you ever committed?
81. You approach men with desire instead of women. You are truly a people who cross all limits."
82. But his people's only response was, "Drive them out of your town — they're people who want to stay pure!"
83. So We saved Lot and his family, except for his wife — she was among those left behind.
84. And We poured down upon them a rain. See how terrible was the end of the criminals!
85. And to the people of Midian, We sent their brother Shuayb. He said, "My people, worship Allah — you have no god except Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. So be fair when measuring and weighing, and don't cheat people out of what belongs to them. Don't spread corruption on earth after it has been set right. That is better for you, if you truly believe."
86. "Don't sit along every road, threatening people and blocking those who believe from following Allah's path, trying to make it crooked. Remember when you were few, and He increased your numbers. Look carefully at what happened to those who spread corruption."
87. "If some of you believe in the message I've brought, and others don't, then be patient until Allah judges between us. He is the best of judges."
88. The proud leaders among his people said, "Shuayb, we will definitely drive you and those who believe with you out of our town, unless you return to our ways." He replied, "Even if we hate it?"
89. "We would be lying about Allah if we returned to your ways after He has saved us from them. We could never go back unless Allah, our Lord, wills it. Our Lord's knowledge covers everything. We put our trust in Allah. Our Lord, judge between us and our people with truth, for You are the best of judges."
90. The disbelieving leaders among his people said, "If you follow Shuayb, you'll surely be losers."
91. Then an earthquake seized them, and by morning they lay lifeless in their homes.
92. Those who rejected Shuayb — it was as if they had never lived there. Those who rejected Shuayb — they were the true losers.
93. So he turned away from them and said, "My people, I delivered my Lord's messages to you, and sincerely advised you. How can I feel sorry for people who refuse to believe?"
94. Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We tested its people with hardship and trouble, so they might humble themselves.
95. Then We changed their hardship into comfort, until they grew comfortable and said, "Our ancestors also faced good times and bad." So We seized them suddenly, when they least expected it.
96. If only the people of these towns had believed and been mindful of Allah, We would have opened blessings for them from heaven and earth. But they rejected the truth, so We punished them for what they earned.
97. Did the people of these towns feel safe from Our punishment coming to them at night, while they slept?
98. Or did they feel safe from Our punishment coming to them in the morning, while they played?
99. Did they feel safe from Allah's plan? No one feels safe from Allah's plan except those who are truly lost.
100. Isn't it clear to those who inherited the land after its people that, if We wished, We could punish them for their sins? So We seal their hearts, so they don't hear.
101. These are the towns whose stories We tell you. Their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they wouldn't believe in what they had already rejected before. This is how Allah seals the hearts of those who disbelieve.
102. We didn't find most of them true to their promises. Instead, We found most of them disobedient.
103. Then, after them, We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his leaders, but they treated them unfairly. See how terrible was the end of those who spread corruption!
104. Moses said, "Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of all the worlds."
105. "It's my duty to speak only the truth about Allah. I've come to you with clear proof from your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with me."
106. Pharaoh said, "If you've really brought a sign, then show it — if you're telling the truth."
107. So Moses threw down his staff, and suddenly it became a clear, real snake.
108. Then he drew out his hand, and it was shining white for everyone to see.
109. Pharaoh's leaders said, "This man is definitely a skilled magician."
110. "He wants to drive you out of your land! So, what do you suggest?"
111. They said, "Delay him and his brother, and send messengers to all the cities,".
112. "To bring you every skilled magician."
113. The magicians came to Pharaoh and said, "Will we get a reward if we're the winners?"
114. Pharaoh answered, "Yes, and you'll be among those closest to me."
115. They said, "Moses, will you throw first, or should we?"
116. He said, "You throw first." When they threw, they tricked people's eyes, frightened them, and performed powerful magic.
117. We inspired Moses, "Throw down your staff!" Suddenly, it swallowed up all the lies they had created.
118. So the truth came out, and everything they had done came to nothing.
119. Right there, they were defeated and left humiliated.
120. And the magicians fell down, bowing deeply.
121. They said, "We believe in the Lord of all creation.
122. The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
123. Pharaoh shouted, "You believed in Him before I gave you permission? This is a plot you've planned in the city to drive out its people — but soon you'll see!
124. I'll definitely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then I'll crucify every one of you!"
125. They replied, "We will return to our Lord anyway.
126. You're only punishing us because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour patience over us, and let us die devoted to You."
127. The leaders around Pharaoh said, "Will you just let Moses and his people spread trouble in the land, and leave you and your gods?" Pharaoh answered, "We'll kill their sons and spare their daughters — we have total power over them!"
128. Moses said to his people, "Ask Allah for help and be patient. The earth belongs to Allah, and He gives it to whichever of His servants He chooses. In the end, success belongs to those who are mindful of Him."
129. They said, "We suffered before you came to us, and we're still suffering even after you arrived." Moses replied, "Maybe your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you leaders in the land, then He'll watch how you behave."
130. And certainly, We tested Pharaoh's people with years of hardship and shortages of produce, so they may reflect and change.
131. But whenever something good came their way, they said, "We deserve this." And whenever something bad happened, they blamed Moses and those with him. Truly, their troubles were from Allah alone — but most of them didn't understand.
132. They said, "No matter what miracle you show us to try and amaze us, we won't believe in you."
133. So We sent against them floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood — detailed miracles, one after another. But they acted arrogantly and were truly wicked people.
134. When the punishment fell on them, they cried, "Moses, pray to your Lord for us, because of the promise He made to you. If you remove this punishment from us, we'll surely believe you and let the Children of Israel go with you."
135. But when We lifted the punishment from them until a set time they had to reach, they immediately broke their promise.
136. So We took revenge on them and drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our signs and ignored them completely.
137. We gave the people who had been oppressed the eastern and western parts of the land We had blessed. And your Lord's good promise to the Children of Israel came true, because they were patient. And We destroyed everything Pharaoh and his people had built, and everything they had set up.
138. After We brought the Children of Israel safely across the sea, they came upon people devoted to idols. They said, "Moses, make a god for us like the gods these people have." He replied, "You're truly acting without knowledge."
139. He continued, "What these people worship is doomed to destruction, and everything they do is worthless."
140. He said, "Should I seek a god other than Allah for you, when He has favored you above all other people?"
141. Remember when We saved you from Pharaoh's people, who made you suffer terrible pain — they killed your sons and let your daughters live. That was a great test from your Lord.
142. We promised Moses thirty nights, then added ten more, completing his Lord's appointed time of forty nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do what's right, and don't follow the path of those who spread trouble."
143. When Moses came to Our meeting place, and his Lord spoke to him, Moses said, "My Lord, let me see You." Allah replied, "You cannot see Me. But look at the mountain — if it stays in its place, then you'll see Me." But when his Lord revealed Himself to the mountain, He made it crumble to dust, and Moses fell down unconscious. When he woke up, he said, "Glory be to You! I turn back to You, and I'm the first of the believers."
144. Allah said, "Moses, I have chosen you over all people by giving you My messages and speaking directly to you. So hold tightly to what I've given you, and be one of the thankful."
145. We wrote for him on the tablets advice and a detailed explanation for everything. So hold onto them firmly, and tell your people to follow the best of these teachings. Soon I'll show you the home of those who disobey."
146. I'll turn away from My signs those who act proudly on earth without any right. Even if they see every sign, they won't believe in it. If they see the right path, they won't take it. But if they see the wrong path, they'll follow it. That's because they rejected Our signs and paid no attention to them.
147. Those who reject Our signs and deny the meeting in the Hereafter — all their good deeds will be wasted. Will they be rewarded for anything except what they've done?
148. After Moses left, his people made a calf from their jewelry — a statue that made a mooing sound. Didn't they see it couldn't speak to them or guide them in any way? Still, they took it as a god, doing something terribly wrong.
149. But when they realized what they'd done, and saw how lost they'd become, they said, "If our Lord doesn't show us mercy and forgive us, we'll surely be among the losers."
150. When Moses returned to his people, angry and deeply sad, he said, "What an awful thing you've done after I left! Did you rush ahead of your Lord's command?" He threw down the tablets and grabbed his brother by the head, pulling him toward himself. Aaron said, "Son of my mother, the people treated me as weak and almost killed me. Don't let our enemies laugh at me, and don't count me among those who've done wrong."
151. Moses prayed, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and bring us into Your mercy — You are the most merciful of all."
152. Those who worshiped the calf will certainly face their Lord's anger and humiliation in this life. That's how We repay those who invent lies.
153. But those who did wrong, then afterward repented and believed — your Lord, after all this, is truly forgiving and kind.
154. When Moses' anger finally calmed down, he picked up the tablets again. Written on them were guidance and mercy for those who deeply respect their Lord.
155. Moses chose seventy men from his people for Our meeting. But when an earthquake shook them, he prayed, "My Lord, if You'd wanted, You could've destroyed them — and me — before this. Will You destroy us because of what some fools among us have done? This is only Your test — You let whoever You want lose their way, and You guide whoever You want. You are our protector, so forgive us and have mercy on us — You are the best at forgiving."
156. "And write down good things for us in this life and in the Hereafter — we have turned back to You." Allah replied, "My punishment — I give it to whoever I choose. But My mercy covers everything. I'll especially grant it to those who are mindful of Me, who give charity, and who believe in Our verses."
157. Those who follow the Messenger — the unlettered Prophet — whose description they find written in the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to do good, and forbids them from doing wrong. He makes pure things allowed for them, and forbids them from bad things. He lifts from them the heavy burdens and chains that weighed them down. Those who believe in him, honor him, support him, and follow the light sent down with him — they are the ones who will truly succeed.
158. Say, "O people, I am Allah's Messenger to all of you. He is the One Who rules the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him. He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger — the unlettered Prophet — who believes in Allah and His words. Follow him, so that you may be guided."
159. Among Moses' people, there is a group who guide others with truth, and act justly according to it.
160. We divided them into twelve tribes — each a separate community. When Moses' people asked him for water, We revealed to him, "Strike the rock with your staff." Then twelve springs flowed out from it, and each tribe knew exactly where to drink. We shaded them with clouds and sent down manna and quails for them, saying, "Eat from the good things We have provided for you." They did not wrong Us, but they wronged themselves.
161. Remember when it was said to them, "Live in this town, and eat freely from wherever you like. Say 'Forgiveness,' and enter the gate humbly. We will forgive your mistakes, and give even more to those who do good."
162. But the wrongdoers among them changed the words to something different from what they were told. So We sent down upon them a punishment from the sky, because of the wrong they had done.
163. Ask them about the town by the sea, when its people broke the Sabbath rule. On their Sabbath day, fish would come openly swimming near the shore, but on other days, no fish appeared. This is how We tested them, because they kept disobeying.
164. Some people among them said, "Why do you warn those whom Allah will destroy or punish severely?" They replied, "To be free from blame before your Lord, and maybe they'll become mindful of Him."
165. But when they ignored the reminders given to them, We saved those who warned against evil, and We punished the wrongdoers severely, because of their disobedience.
166. When they stubbornly refused to stop doing what was forbidden, We said to them, "Become despised monkeys!"
167. And remember when your Lord declared, that He would send against them, until the Day of Judgment, people who would make them suffer terribly. Truly, your Lord is quick to punish — but He is also forgiving and merciful.
168. We scattered them across the earth into different groups. Some of them were righteous, and some were not. We tested them with good times and bad times, so they may return to the right path.
169. Then, after them, came new generations who inherited the Scripture. They kept taking the temporary things of this world, saying, "We'll be forgiven." But if similar things came their way again, they'd take them too. Wasn't the promise of the Scripture taken from them — that they wouldn't say anything about Allah except the truth? They studied what was in it. The home of the Hereafter is far better for those who are mindful of Allah. Won't you understand?
170. And those who hold firmly to the Scripture and pray regularly — We never let the reward of those who do good go to waste.
171. Remember when We lifted the mountain above them, as if it were a huge cloud, and they thought it would fall on them. We said, "Hold tightly to what We have given you, and remember what's in it, so that you may become mindful of Allah."
172. Remember when your Lord brought out from Adam's children — from their own backs — their descendants, and made them testify about themselves, asking, "Am I not your Lord?" They answered, "Yes, we testify." He did this so you wouldn't say on the Day of Judgment, "We didn't know anything about this."
173. Or so you wouldn't say, "It was our ancestors who worshiped others besides Allah before us, and we were just their descendants after them. Will You punish us for what those who followed falsehoods did?"
174. This is how We clearly explain Our verses, so they might return to the right path.
175. Tell them the story of the one We gave Our verses, but he turned away from them. Then Satan chased after him, and he became one of those who lost their way.
176. If We had wanted, We could have raised him high through Our verses, but instead, he clung to earthly desires and followed his own wishes. He is like a dog — if you chase it, it pants, and if you leave it alone, it still pants. This is the example of those who reject Our verses. So tell them these stories, so they might think carefully.
177. Terrible is the example of those who reject Our verses — they only harm themselves.
178. Whoever Allah guides is truly guided, and whoever He leaves astray — they are the real losers.
179. Certainly, We have created many jinn and humans for Hellfire — they have hearts, but they don't understand with them; they have eyes, but they don't see with them; and they have ears, but they don't hear with them. They are like animals — no, they are even more lost. They are the ones who don't pay attention.
180. Allah has the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them. And leave alone those who twist His names — they will soon be repaid for what they used to do.
181. Among those We created, there are people who guide others with truth, and they act justly according to it.
182. Those who reject Our verses — We will lead them step by step into ruin, in ways they don't even realize.
183. I give them time, but My plan is firm.
184. Haven't they thought carefully? Their companion isn't crazy — he's only a clear warner.
185. Haven't they looked closely at the wonders of the heavens and the earth, and everything Allah created, and considered that maybe their time is almost up? After this, what message will they believe in?
186. Whoever Allah lets go astray, no one can guide them. He leaves them wandering blindly in their rebellion.
187. They ask you about the Hour, "When will it happen?" Say, "Only my Lord knows it. No one but Him can reveal its time. It weighs heavily on the heavens and the earth, and it will come suddenly." They ask you as if you might know it well. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people don't understand."
188. Say, "I don't have the power to help or harm myself, except what Allah wills. If I knew the unseen, I would have gained much good, and no harm would have touched me. I'm only a warner and a bringer of good news for people who believe."
189. He is the One Who created you from a single soul, and made from it its partner, so he could find comfort with her. When he united with her, she carried a light burden and moved about easily. But when it became heavy, they both prayed to Allah, their Lord, "If You give us a healthy child, we will surely be grateful."
190. But when He gave them a healthy child, they made partners with Him in what He had given them. Allah is far above the partners they set up.
191. Do they set up partners who can't create anything, and who themselves are created?
192. They can't help them, and they can't even help themselves.
193. If you call them to guidance, they won't follow you. It's the same whether you call them or stay silent.
194. Those you call on besides Allah are servants just like you. Go ahead and call them, and let them answer you, if you're telling the truth.
195. Do they have feet to walk with? Or hands to hold with? Or eyes to see with? Or ears to hear with? Say, "Call your partners, then plot against me, and don't give me any time."
196. Truly, my protector is Allah, Who sent down the Book, and He protects those who do good.
197. Those you call on besides Him can't help you, and they can't even help themselves.
198. If you call them to the right path, they won't hear you. You see them looking at you, but they can't see.
199. Be forgiving, encourage kindness, and turn away from those who act foolishly.
200. If Satan ever whispers evil thoughts to you, ask Allah for protection — He hears everything and knows everything.
201. When evil thoughts from Satan touch those who are mindful of Allah, they quickly remember Him — and suddenly they see clearly again.
202. But their brothers keep pulling them deeper into wrongdoing, never stopping.
203. When you don't bring them a miracle, they say, "Why didn't you just make one up?" Say, "I only follow what my Lord reveals to me. This Quran is clear insight from your Lord, guidance, and mercy for people who believe."
204. When the Quran is recited, listen to it carefully and quietly, so you may receive mercy.
205. And remember your Lord deep inside yourself, with humility and respect, quietly, morning and evening — and don't be among those who forget Him.
206. Those who are close to your Lord never become too proud to worship Him — they glorify Him, and bow down before Him.
