In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. By the star when it falls.

2. Your companion isn't misguided, nor has he gone astray.

3. And he doesn't speak from his own desires.

4. It is only a revelation revealed to him.

5. Taught to him by the mighty in strength.

6. Powerful — who appeared clearly.

7. While he was on the highest horizon.

8. Then he came closer, and even closer still.

9. Until he was only two bow-lengths away — or even nearer.

10. Then He revealed to His servant what He revealed.

11. His heart didn't lie about what he saw.

12. Will you then argue with him about what he sees?

13. And certainly, he saw him another time.

14. By the farthest lote tree.

15. Near the Garden of Refuge.

16. When the lote tree was covered by what covered it.

17. His sight didn't wander, nor did it go beyond limits.

18. Truly, he saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord.

19. So, have you thought about Al-Lat and Al-Uzza.

20. And Manat, the third one, the other?

21. Do you choose sons for yourselves, but daughters for Him?

22. That would be an unfair division!

23. These are only names you and your ancestors made up — Allah never sent down any proof for them. They only follow guesses and what their hearts desire, even though guidance from their Lord has already come to them.

24. Or does a human being always get whatever he wishes for?

25. No, the Hereafter and this life both belong to Allah.

26. How many angels are there in the heavens, whose prayers can't help at all — unless Allah allows it, for whoever He chooses and is pleased with?

27. Those who don't believe in the Hereafter give angels female names.

28. But they have no knowledge about this. They only follow guesses — and guesses can't replace the truth at all.

29. So turn away from those who ignore Our reminder, and only care about this worldly life.

30. That is as far as their knowledge goes. Your Lord knows best who has lost His way, and He knows best who is guided.

31. Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to Allah. He will give those who do wrong exactly what they deserve, and reward those who do good with the best reward.

32. Those who stay away from major sins and shameful acts, except small mistakes. Truly, your Lord's forgiveness is vast. He knows you best — ever since He created you from the earth, and when you were tiny babies inside your mothers. So don't claim yourselves to be pure — He knows best who truly respects Him.

33. Have you seen the one who turned away?

34. He gave a little, then stopped giving.

35. Does he know the unseen, so he sees clearly?

36. Or has he not heard what was written in the scriptures of Moses.

37. And of Abraham, who kept his promise faithfully?

38. That no one will carry the burden of another.

39. And that a human will only have what they worked for.

40. And that their effort will surely be seen.

41. Then they'll be given exactly what they deserve.

42. And that your final destination is with your Lord.

43. And that He is the One Who makes you laugh and cry.

44. And that He is the One Who gives life and causes death.

45. And that He created the pairs — male and female.

46. From a tiny drop when it is placed.

47. And that He will surely bring you back to life again.

48. And that He is the One Who gives wealth and satisfaction.

49. And that He is the Lord of Sirius, the brightest star.

50. And that He destroyed the first people of Aad.

51. And Thamud — He left no one alive.

52. And before them, Noah's people — they were even more unjust and rebellious.

53. And He brought down the ruined cities.

54. Covering them completely with what covered them.

55. So which of your Lord's favors do you doubt?

56. This is a warning, just like the earlier warnings.

57. The coming Hour is very near.

58. No one but Allah can reveal it.

59. Do you find this message surprising.

60. And laugh instead of crying.

61. Wasting your time carelessly?

62. So bow down to Allah, and worship Him.
