In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. Believers, don't put yourselves ahead of Allah and His Messenger. Always be mindful of Allah — He hears and knows everything.

2. Believers, don't raise your voices above the Prophet's voice, and don't speak loudly to him, like you speak loudly to each other, or your good deeds might be lost without you even realizing it.

3. Those who lower their voices around Allah's Messenger — they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested and prepared for piety. They will have forgiveness, and a great reward.

4. Most of those who call out to you loudly from outside your rooms, don't understand.

5. If they had waited patiently until you came out to them, it would have been better for them. Allah is forgiving and kind.

6. Believers, if someone unreliable brings you news, check carefully before you act, so you don't harm people by mistake, and then regret what you've done.

7. Remember, Allah's Messenger is among you. If he followed your wishes in many matters, you'd end up in trouble. But Allah has made faith dear to your hearts, made it beautiful to you, and made disbelief, wrongdoing, and disobedience hateful to you. These are the ones who are rightly guided.

8. A blessing and kindness from Allah. Allah knows everything and is wise.

9. If two groups of believers start fighting, make peace between them. If one group keeps attacking the other unfairly, then stand against the group that's doing wrong, until they return to Allah's command. If they return, make peace between them fairly, and be just. Allah loves those who are fair.

10. Believers are truly brothers and sisters, so always make peace between your siblings. Be mindful of Allah, so you may receive His mercy.

11. Believers, don't let some people make fun of others — they might actually be better than them. And don't let any girls laugh at other girls — they might be better than them. Don't insult each other, or call each other mean names. How awful it is to be called a wrongdoer after having faith! Whoever doesn't stop and change their ways — they're the ones being unfair.

12. Believers, stay away from making too many assumptions — some assumptions are sinful. Don't spy on each other, and don't talk badly about each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of your dead brother? You would hate that! So be mindful of Allah — Allah is always ready to forgive, and He is full of kindness.

13. People, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into different nations and tribes, so you could get to know each other. The most honored among you in Allah's sight, is the one who is most mindful of Him. Allah knows everything, and He is fully aware.

14. The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Tell them, "You don't truly believe yet. Instead, say, 'We have accepted Islam,' because true faith hasn't entered your hearts yet. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He won't take away any reward for your good deeds. Allah is forgiving and kind."

15. True believers are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then never doubt, and who strive hard with their money and their lives for Allah's cause. These are the ones who are truthful.

16. Say, "Are you trying to teach Allah about your religion? Allah already knows everything in the heavens and on the earth. Allah knows absolutely everything."

17. They act as if they're doing you a favor by accepting Islam. Say, "Don't think you're doing me a favor by becoming Muslims. Rather, it's Allah Who has done you a favor by guiding you to faith — if you're really truthful."

18. Allah knows all the hidden secrets of the heavens and the earth, and Allah sees clearly everything you do.
