In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. Ha. Meem.

2. Ayn. Seen. Qaf.

3. This is how Allah — the Mighty, the Wise — sends revelation to you, just as He did to those before you.

4. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him, and He is the Most High, the Greatest.

5. The heavens almost break apart above them, while the angels praise their Lord's glory and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Truly, Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

6. As for those who take protectors besides Him, Allah watches over them — you are not responsible for them.

7. And this is how We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, so you may warn the Central City and those around it, and warn them about the Day of Gathering — there is no doubt about it. On that day, some people will be in Paradise, and others in the blazing Fire.

8. If Allah had wanted, He could have made them all one community, but He admits whoever He wills into His mercy. Those who do wrong will have no protector and no helper.

9. Have they taken protectors besides Him? But Allah alone is the true Protector. He brings the dead back to life, and He has power over everything.

10. Whatever you disagree about, its judgment belongs to Allah. That is Allah, my Lord — I put my trust in Him, and I turn to Him.

11. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He made spouses for you from among yourselves, and pairs among livestock as well. He multiplies you through them. There is nothing like Him, and He hears and sees everything.

12. The keys of the heavens and the earth belong to Him. He gives plenty to whoever He wills, and He limits it for whoever He wills. He truly knows everything.

13. He has set for you the same religion He instructed Noah with, and what We revealed to you, and what We instructed Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: "Keep the religion strong, and do not become divided." What you call them to is hard for those who worship others besides Allah. Allah chooses whoever He wills for Himself, and guides to Himself whoever turns to Him.

14. They only became divided after knowledge had come to them, out of jealousy and rivalry. If not for a decision already made by your Lord to wait until a set time, their differences would have been settled right away. But those who inherited the Scripture after them are deeply unsure and doubtful about it.

15. So keep inviting people to this truth, and go straight as you've been told. Do not follow their desires. And say, "I believe in every book Allah has revealed, and I have been commanded to be fair with you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds, and you have yours. There is no argument between us and you. Allah will bring us all together, and to Him is the final return."

16. Those who argue about Allah after people have accepted His message — their arguments are worthless in the sight of their Lord. His anger is upon them, and they will have a painful punishment.

17. Allah is the One Who sent down the Book with truth and the balance of justice. And how do you know? Maybe the Hour is near.

18. Those who don't believe in it rush to see it happen, but those who believe are cautious about it, knowing it's the truth. Truly, those who argue about the Hour have wandered far away from the right path.

19. Allah is gentle with His servants. He provides for whoever He wills, and He is the Powerful, the Mighty.

20. Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We will increase his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world, We will give him some of it, but he will have no share in the Hereafter.

21. Or do they have partners who made up religious rules for them that Allah never allowed? If it weren't for Allah's clear decision, judgment would have already come between them. Those who do wrong will surely face a painful punishment.

22. You'll see the wrongdoers afraid of what they've earned, and it will definitely happen to them. But those who believe and do good deeds will be in beautiful gardens of Paradise — they'll have whatever they wish from their Lord. That's the greatest blessing.

23. This is the good news Allah gives to His servants who believe and do good deeds. Say, "I don't ask you for any reward — only love and kindness toward family." Whoever does a good deed, We will increase its goodness for them. Allah is truly Forgiving, Appreciative.

24. Or do they say, "He made up lies about Allah"? If Allah wanted, He could seal your heart. But Allah wipes away falsehood and proves the truth with His words. He knows what's hidden in people's hearts.

25. He is the One Who accepts repentance from His servants, forgives their mistakes, and knows everything you do.

26. He answers the prayers of those who believe and do good deeds, and gives them even more from His kindness. But for those who reject Him, there's a severe punishment.

27. If Allah gave unlimited wealth to all His servants, they would surely become arrogant and unjust on earth. Instead, He sends down exactly what He chooses. He truly knows and sees His servants.

28. He is the One Who sends down rain after people have lost hope, spreading His mercy. He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.

29. Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and all the living creatures He scattered throughout them. He has the power to gather them all whenever He wills.

30. Whatever hardship happens to you, is because of what your own hands have done. Yet He forgives so much.

31. You can't escape Allah anywhere on earth, and besides Allah, you have no protector and no helper.

32. And among His signs are the ships sailing across the sea, like mountains.

33. If He wishes, He can stop the wind, leaving the ships still on the sea's surface — truly, in this are clear signs for everyone who is patient and thankful.

34. Or He could sink them because of what people have done — but He forgives so much.

35. Those who argue against Our verses will realize they have nowhere to escape.

36. Whatever you have been given, is just enjoyment of this worldly life. But what Allah has is far better and lasts forever — for those who believe and trust in their Lord.

37. Those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, and who forgive when they get angry.

38. Those who answer their Lord's call, pray regularly, decide their matters by talking together, and spend from what We have given them.

39. And those who stand up for themselves when treated unfairly.

40. The payback for harm is equal harm, but whoever forgives and makes peace — their reward is with Allah. He certainly does not love those who do wrong.

41. There is no blame on those who defend themselves after being wronged.

42. Blame is only on those who harm people, and unjustly cause trouble on earth — they will face a painful punishment.

43. But whoever is patient and forgiving — that truly shows strength of character.

44. Whoever Allah lets go astray, will have no protector after Him. You'll see the wrongdoers, when they face the punishment, saying, "Is there any way we can go back?"

45. You'll see them brought before the punishment, humbled and ashamed, looking secretly from the corners of their eyes. And the believers will say, "The real losers are those who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Judgment." Surely, the wrongdoers will stay in lasting punishment.

46. They won't have any protectors to help them besides Allah. Whoever Allah lets go astray, has no way out.

47. Answer your Lord before a day comes that Allah won't turn back. On that day, you'll have no safe place, and no way to deny what you've done.

48. But if they turn away, We haven't sent you as their guardian. Your only job is to deliver the message. When We let a human taste some mercy from Us, he becomes happy with it. But if something bad happens because of what they've done, then humans become ungrateful.

49. To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wishes. He gives daughters to whoever He wants, and He gives sons to whoever He wants.

50. Or He gives them sons and daughters, and He makes whoever He wants unable to have children. He knows everything, and He has power over everything.

51. Allah does not speak directly with a human, except through revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger who reveals, with Allah's permission, whatever Allah wishes. He is Most High, Most Wise.

52. And that's how We revealed to you a Spirit from Our command. Before this, you didn't know what the Book was, or what faith was. But We made it a light, guiding with it whoever We wish from among Our servants. You guide people to a straight path.

53. The path of Allah, Who owns everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Remember, all things return to Allah.
