In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. By those angels lined up in rows.

2. And those who firmly drive away evil.

3. And those who recite Allah's message.

4. Truly, your God is One.

5. Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them, and Lord of every sunrise.

6. We decorated the nearest sky with beautiful stars.

7. And protected it from every rebellious devil.

8. They can't listen to the highest assembly, and they're chased away from every side.

9. Driven off — and they'll have endless punishment.

10. Except the one who quickly steals a word — but then a bright flaming star chases him away.

11. So ask them: Are they harder to create, or the others We created? We created them from sticky clay.

12. But you wonder, while they laugh and mock.

13. And when they're reminded, they don't pay attention.

14. And when they see a sign, they make fun of it.

15. They say, "This is clearly just magic.

16. When we're dead and become dust and bones, will we really be brought back to life?

17. And our ancestors from long ago too?"

18. Say, "Yes, and you'll be humbled."

19. It will only take one mighty blast — and suddenly, they'll be wide awake, looking around.

20. They'll cry out, "Oh no! This is the Day of Judgment!"

21. Yes, this is the Day of Decision — the one you used to deny.

22. Gather those who did wrong, along with their companions, and whatever they used to worship.

23. Besides Allah, and lead them straight to the path of Hellfire.

24. But stop them — they'll be questioned.

25. "What's wrong with you? Why aren't you helping each other now?"

26. But today, they'll surrender completely.

27. They'll turn to each other, blaming and asking questions.

28. They'll say, "You used to come to us from a position of power."

29. The others will reply, "No — you yourselves didn't believe.

30. We had no control over you. You were people who went too far.

31. So our Lord's word has come true against us — now we'll surely taste punishment.

32. We led you astray, because we ourselves were lost."

33. On that day, they'll all share the punishment together.

34. That's how We deal with those who do wrong.

35. Whenever they were told, "There is no god except Allah," they became proud and arrogant.

36. They'd say, "Should we leave our gods for a crazy poet?"

37. But no — he brought the truth, and He confirmed the earlier messengers.

38. You'll definitely taste the painful punishment.

39. And you'll only be repaid for what you used to do.

40. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

41. They'll have a special provision.

42. Fruits — and they'll be honored.

43. In beautiful Gardens of happiness.

44. Sitting on couches, facing each other.

45. They'll be served cups filled from a flowing spring.

46. Clear white drinks, delicious for those who drink.

47. With no harm in them, and they won't feel dizzy or sick.

48. And with them will be companions with gentle eyes, who look only at them.

49. As if they were hidden pearls.

50. Then they'll turn to each other, happily asking questions.

51. One of them will say, "I once had a friend.

52. Who used to ask me, 'Do you really believe.

53. That after we die and become dust and bones, we'll be judged?'"

54. He'll say, "Would you like to see where he ended up?"

55. Then he'll look, and see him in the middle of Hellfire.

56. He'll say, "By Allah, you almost dragged me down with you!

57. If it wasn't for my Lord's kindness, I'd be there too, facing punishment.

58. Are we not to die?

59. Except for our first death, and we will never be punished.

60. This is truly the greatest success!"

61. For a reward like this, everyone should work hard.

62. Is this a better hospitality, or the bitter tree of Zaqqum?

63. We made that tree a test for those who do wrong.

64. It's a tree that grows from the very bottom of Hellfire.

65. Its fruits look like the heads of devils.

66. And they'll surely eat from it, filling their bellies.

67. Then they'll drink a mixture of scalding water with it.

68. After that, they'll return straight into Hellfire.

69. They found their parents lost and misguided.

70. And they rushed to follow in their footsteps.

71. Most people before them also lost their way.

72. Even though We sent messengers to warn them.

73. So see what happened to those who ignored the warnings.

74. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

75. Noah called out to Us, and We answered him in the best way.

76. We saved him and his family from a terrible disaster.

77. And We made his descendants the ones who survived.

78. We honored his memory among later generations.

79. "Peace be upon Noah throughout the world!"

80. That's how We reward those who do good.

81. He was truly one of Our believing servants.

82. Then We drowned all the others.

83. Abraham was one of those who followed Noah's way.

84. He came to his Lord with a pure heart.

85. He asked his father and his people, "What are you worshiping?

86. Do you really prefer false gods instead of Allah?

87. What do you think about the Lord of creation?"

88. Then he looked thoughtfully at the stars.

89. And said, "I'm feeling sick."

90. So they turned away and left him alone.

91. Quietly, he went to their idols and said, "Won't you eat?

92. What's wrong with you? Why don't you speak?"

93. Then he struck them hard with his right hand.

94. The people rushed back to him angrily.

95. He said, "Do you worship things you carve yourselves.

96. While Allah created you and everything you make?"

97. They shouted, "Build a huge fire and throw him into the flames!"

98. They planned to harm him, but We made them the lowest of all.

99. Abraham said, "I'm going to my Lord — He will guide me.

100. My Lord, grant me a child who will be among the righteous."

101. So We gave him good news of a gentle and patient son.

102. When the boy grew old enough to help his father, Abraham said, "My dear son, I saw in a dream that I'm sacrificing you. Tell me, what do you think?" His son replied, "Father, do what you're commanded. Allah willing, you'll find me patient."

103. When they both submitted to Allah's will, and Abraham laid him down on his forehead.

104. We called out to him, "Abraham!

105. You've fulfilled the vision." This is how We reward those who do good.

106. This was clearly a great test.

107. And We saved his son by giving a great sacrifice instead.

108. And We kept his memory honored among later generations.

109. "Peace be upon Abraham!"

110. This is how We reward those who do good.

111. He was truly one of Our faithful servants.

112. And We gave him good news of Isaac — a prophet, and one of the righteous.

113. We blessed him and Isaac too. Among their descendants, some did good, while others clearly wronged themselves.

114. We certainly showed favor to Moses and Aaron.

115. We saved them and their people from great suffering.

116. We helped them, so they became victorious.

117. We gave them the clear Scripture.

118. And guided them to the straight path.

119. We kept their memory honored among later generations.

120. "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!"

121. This is how We reward those who do good.

122. They were truly among Our faithful servants.

123. Elijah was also one of Our messengers.

124. When he said to his people, "Won't you be mindful of Allah?

125. Do you call upon Baal, and leave behind the Best of creators?

126. Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors."

127. But they rejected him, so they'll surely be brought to judgment.

128. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

129. We kept his memory honored among later generations.

130. "Peace be upon Elijah!"

131. This is how We reward those who do good.

132. He was truly one of Our faithful servants.

133. Lot was also one of Our messengers.

134. We saved him and all his family.

135. Except an old woman who stayed behind.

136. Then We destroyed the others completely.

137. You pass by their ruins in the morning.

138. And at night too. Won't you understand?

139. Jonah was also one of Our messengers.

140. He ran away onto a crowded ship.

141. He drew lots, and he was among those thrown overboard.

142. Then a whale swallowed him, and he was filled with regret.

143. If he hadn't been one who praised Allah.

144. He would've stayed in its belly until the Day they're raised again.

145. But We cast him out onto the shore, weak and exhausted.

146. And We made a plant grow over him — a vine with wide leaves.

147. Then We sent him to a hundred thousand people, or even more.

148. They believed, so We let them enjoy life for a while.

149. So ask them: Does your Lord have daughters, while they have sons?

150. Or did We create the angels as females, and were they there to see it?

151. Truly, because of their lies, they say.

152. "Allah has children." But they're definitely lying.

153. Did He choose daughters over sons?

154. What's wrong with you? How do you judge?

155. Won't you think carefully?

156. Or do you have clear proof?

157. Then bring your book, if you're telling the truth.

158. And they made up a family connection between Him and the jinn — but even the jinn know that they'll be brought before Allah.

159. Glory to Allah! He's far above what they describe.

160. Except for Allah's true and sincere servants.

161. As for you, and whatever you worship.

162. You can't mislead anyone against Him.

163. Except those who are destined for Hellfire.

164. Each of us angels has a known place.

165. And we are the ones who stand lined up in worship.

166. And we are the ones who glorify Allah.

167. They used to say.

168. "If only we had a message like the people before us.

169. We would have been Allah's sincere servants."

170. But now they reject it — soon they'll realize.

171. Our promise has already been given to Our messengers.

172. They will surely be helped.

173. And Our forces will definitely be victorious.

174. So turn away from them for a while.

175. And watch them — they'll soon see.

176. Do they really want Our punishment to hurry?

177. When it comes down upon them, it will be a terrible morning for those who were warned!

178. So turn away from them for a while.

179. And watch — they'll soon see.

180. Glory to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, far above what they describe.

181. And peace be upon the messengers.

182. And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
