In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. Alif. Lam. Meem.

2. The Romans have been defeated.

3. In the lowest land. But after their defeat, they will soon win.

4. Within a few years. All matters belong to Allah, before and after. And on that day, the believers will rejoice.

5. In Allah's victory. He helps whoever He wills, and He is the Mighty, the Most Merciful.

6. This is Allah's promise — Allah never breaks His promise, but most people don't know.

7. They only know what's obvious about this worldly life, and they're unaware of the Hereafter.

8. Haven't they thought deeply about themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and everything between them with purpose and for a fixed time. Yet many people deny they'll meet their Lord.

9. Haven't they traveled through the land and seen what happened to those before them? They were stronger, worked the earth, and built it up more than these people have. Their messengers came to them with clear signs. Allah wasn't unfair to them — they were unfair to themselves.

10. Then, the outcome for those who did evil was terrible, because they rejected Allah's verses and made fun of them.

11. Allah begins creation, then brings it back to life, and then you will all return to Him.

12. On the Day the Hour comes, the guilty will lose all hope.

13. None of their partners will speak up for them, and they'll reject those partners completely.

14. On the Day the Hour comes, people will be separated.

15. Those who believed and did good deeds will be happy in a beautiful garden.

16. But those who disbelieved, rejected Our verses, and denied meeting in the Hereafter — they'll be brought into punishment.

17. So glorify Allah when evening comes and when morning arrives.

18. Praise belongs to Him in the heavens and the earth, in the late afternoon and at midday.

19. He brings the living from the dead, and the dead from the living. He gives life back to the earth after it dies — and that's how you'll be brought back to life.

20. One of His signs is that He created you from dust, and suddenly — you became human beings spreading everywhere.

21. Another of His signs is that He created partners for you from among yourselves, so you can find peace and comfort with them, and He placed love and kindness between you. Truly, in this are signs for people who think deeply.

22. And among His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the differences in your languages and colors. Truly, in this are signs for those who have knowledge.

23. And among His signs are your sleep during the night and day, and your seeking His blessings. Truly, in this are signs for people who listen carefully.

24. And among His signs, He shows you lightning — causing both fear and hope — and He sends down rain from the sky, bringing the earth back to life after it was dead. Truly, in this are signs for people who understand.

25. And among His signs is that the sky and the earth stand firm by His command. Then, when He calls you with a single call from the earth, suddenly — you will come out.

26. Everyone in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him; all obey Him completely.

27. He is the One Who begins creation, then brings it back again — and that is even easier for Him. He has the highest example in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, the Wise.

28. He gives you an example from your own lives: do you treat those under your care as equal partners in the things We have given you, so you fear them as you fear each other? This is how We clearly explain the verses for people who understand.

29. But those who do wrong follow their own desires without knowledge. Who can guide those whom Allah has let go astray? They have no helpers.

30. So keep your heart focused on the true faith, turning sincerely toward Allah. This is the pure nature Allah created humans with — no one can change Allah's creation. This is the true religion, but most people don't realize it.

31. Turn back to Him, respect Him deeply, pray regularly, and never be among those who worship others besides Allah.

32. Those who split their religion into separate groups, each group happy with what they have.

33. When trouble touches people, they sincerely call out to their Lord, turning back to Him. But as soon as He lets them taste His kindness, some of them start worshiping others along with their Lord.

34. Showing no gratitude for what We gave them. Enjoy yourselves for now — you'll soon see the truth.

35. Or did We send them any proof that supports the false gods they worship?

36. When We let people taste kindness, they're happy with it. But when something bad happens because of their own actions, they quickly lose all hope.

37. Don't they see that Allah gives plenty to whoever He wishes, and limits it for whoever He wishes? Truly, there are clear signs in this for people who believe.

38. So give your relatives their rights, and help the poor and travelers in need. That's best for those who sincerely seek Allah's approval — and they're the ones who'll succeed.

39. Whatever extra money you lend to people, hoping it'll grow through their wealth, it doesn't grow with Allah. But whatever charity you give, sincerely seeking Allah's approval — those are the ones whose reward multiplies.

40. Allah is the One Who created you, then provided for you, then causes you to die, and then brings you back to life. Can any of your partners do even one of these things? Glory to Him! He is far above anything they associate with Him.

41. Corruption has spread across land and sea, because of what people have done with their own hands, so that He lets them taste some consequences of their actions — maybe they'll turn back to Him.

42. Say, "Travel through the earth, and see what happened to those who lived before you — most of them worshiped others besides Allah."

43. So turn your face toward the true religion, before a Day comes from Allah that no one can stop. On that Day, people will be divided.

44. Whoever rejects the truth, their rejection will be against themselves. And whoever does good deeds, they are preparing a good place for themselves.

45. So that He may reward those who believe and do good deeds out of His kindness. He certainly does not love those who reject the truth.

46. Among His signs is that He sends winds bringing good news, letting you taste His mercy, making ships sail by His command, and helping you seek His kindness — so maybe you'll be thankful.

47. We sent messengers before you to their people, and they came with clear proofs. Then We took vengeance on those who committed crimes. It is Our duty to help the believers.

48. Allah is the One Who sends winds to stir up clouds. He spreads them across the sky however He wishes, and breaks them into pieces. Then you see rain coming down from between them. When He sends it to whichever of His servants He chooses, they become joyful.

49. Even though, before the rain came down to them, they had lost all hope.

50. So look at the signs of Allah's mercy — how He gives life to the earth after its death. The same Allah will surely bring the dead back to life, and He has power over everything.

51. But if We sent a harsh wind and they saw their crops turn yellow, they would still keep disbelieving afterward.

52. You can't make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear your call when they turn their backs and walk away.

53. You can't guide the blind out of their confusion. You can only make those hear who believe in Our verses — those who surrender to Allah.

54. Allah created you from weakness, then after weakness He gave you strength, and after strength He made you weak and gray-haired. He creates whatever He wishes, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful.

55. On the Day when the Hour comes, those who did wrong will swear they stayed in this world no longer than an hour — that's how they were always fooled.

56. But those given knowledge and faith will say, "You stayed exactly as Allah decided, until the Day of Resurrection. Now this is the Day of Resurrection, but you didn't realize it."

57. On that Day, excuses won't help those who did wrong, and they won't get another chance to make things right.

58. We've given people every kind of example in this Quran. Yet, even if you bring them a clear sign, those who disbelieve will surely say, "You're only making things up!"

59. That's how Allah seals the hearts of those who refuse to understand.

60. So be patient — Allah's promise is true. And don't let those who lack certainty shake your confidence.
