In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.
1. Ta. Seen. Meem.
2. These are the Verses of the clear Book.
3. We tell you the true story of Moses and Pharaoh, for people who believe.
4. Pharaoh acted proudly in the land, dividing its people into groups. He oppressed one group among them, killing their sons and letting their daughters live. He was truly one of the corruptors.
5. But We wanted to show kindness to those who were oppressed in the land — to make them leaders and inheritors.
6. To establish them firmly in the land, and to show Pharaoh, Haman, and their soldiers exactly what they feared.
7. We inspired Moses' mother, "Nurse him, but if you become afraid for him, put him into the river. Don't be scared or sad. We will surely bring him back to you, and We will make him one of the messengers."
8. Then Pharaoh's family picked him up — not knowing he would become an enemy and a source of sadness for them. Pharaoh, Haman, and their soldiers were truly mistaken.
9. Pharaoh's wife said, "This child will bring joy to me and you. Don't kill him. Maybe he'll benefit us, or we could adopt him as a son." They didn't realize what they were doing.
10. The heart of Moses' mother became empty, and she almost revealed the truth about him — if We had not strengthened her heart, so she would remain among the believers.
11. She said to his sister, "Follow him." So his sister watched him secretly from a distance, without anyone noticing.
12. We had already made him refuse all other nurses. So his sister said, "Should I tell you about a family who can care for him, and look after him sincerely?"
13. This way, We returned him to his mother, comforting her eyes and removing her sadness, so she would know that Allah's promise is true. But most people don't understand.
14. When Moses reached full strength and maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward those who do good.
15. One day, Moses entered the city unnoticed by its people. He found two men fighting — one from his own people, and the other from his enemies. The man from his own people called out to Moses for help against his enemy. Moses struck him with his fist, and finished him. Moses said, "This is Satan's doing. He is clearly an enemy who misleads."
16. Moses prayed, "My Lord, I have wronged myself, so please forgive me." And Allah forgave him, for He is truly the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
17. Moses promised, "My Lord, because of the blessings You've given me, I'll never support the criminals."
18. The next morning, Moses was in the city, fearful and watchful. Suddenly, the same man who had asked for his help the day before, cried out again for help. Moses said to him, "You are clearly causing trouble."
19. But when Moses was about to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, the man shouted, "Moses, do you want to kill me like you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a bully on earth, and you don't want to set things right!"
20. Then a man came running from the far side of the city, and said, "Moses, the leaders are planning to kill you. Leave quickly — I'm giving you sincere advice."
21. So Moses left the city, fearful and cautious, praying, "My Lord, save me from these unjust people."
22. When he headed towards Midian, he said, "I hope my Lord will guide me to the right path."
23. When Moses arrived at Midian's water well, he saw a group of people watering their animals. He noticed two women standing apart, holding back their flock. He asked, "What's the matter?" They replied, "We can't water our flock until the shepherds leave, and our father is a very old man."
24. Moses watered their animals for them, then went to rest in the shade, praying, "My Lord, I truly need whatever good You send down to me."
25. Soon, one of the two women approached him shyly, and said, "My father invites you to reward you for watering our animals." When Moses came and told him his story, the old man said, "Don't be afraid — you've escaped from those unjust people."
26. One of the daughters said, "Father, hire him. The best person to hire is someone strong and trustworthy."
27. The father said, "I want you to marry one of my two daughters, provided you work for me for eight years. If you complete ten years, that's up to you. I don't wish to make things difficult for you. Allah willing, you'll find me to be a righteous person."
28. Moses replied, "That's agreed between you and me. Whichever period I fulfill, let there be no blame on me. Allah is the Witness over what we say."
29. When Moses completed the agreed time, and traveled with his family, he noticed a fire near Mount Tur. He said to his family, "Wait here — I see a fire. Maybe I can bring you some news from there, or a burning stick to warm yourselves."
30. But when he reached it, a voice called out to him from the right side of the valley, from a blessed spot near the tree: "Moses! I am Allah, the Lord of all creation.
31. Throw down your staff." When Moses saw it shaking, as if it were a snake, he turned and ran without looking back. Allah said, "Moses, come closer and don't be afraid — you are completely safe.
32. Now put your hand inside your pocket — it will come out shining white without any harm. And hold your arms close to your body, to calm your fear. These are two clear miracles from your Lord for Pharaoh and his leaders — they are truly rebellious people."
33. Moses said, "My Lord, I killed one of their people, and I'm afraid they'll kill me.
34. And my brother Aaron speaks better than I do, so please send him with me as a helper to support me. I'm worried they'll call me a liar."
35. Allah said, "We will strengthen you with your brother, and We will give you both authority, so they won't reach you. With Our miracles, you and those who follow you will surely win."
36. But when Moses came to them with Our clear miracles, they said, "This is nothing but fake magic — we never heard of anything like this from our ancestors."
37. Moses replied, "My Lord knows best who comes with true guidance from Him and who will have the best ending. Those who do wrong will never succeed."
38. Pharaoh said, "Leaders! I don't know of any god for you besides myself. Haman, bake bricks from clay, and build me a tower, so I can climb up and look at Moses' God — I really think he's lying."
39. Pharaoh and his soldiers acted arrogantly on earth without any right, thinking they would never return to Us.
40. So We seized him and his soldiers, and We threw them into the sea. See how terrible the end was for those who did wrong!
41. We made them leaders who invite others to the Fire, and on the Day of Judgment they will have no help.
42. In this world, We placed a curse on them, and on the Day of Judgment, they will be among those who are despised.
43. We gave Moses the Book, after We had destroyed earlier generations, as clear lessons for people, and as guidance and mercy, so they might remember.
44. You weren't there on the western side when We gave Moses the command, and you weren't among those who saw it happen.
45. But We raised many generations afterward, and time passed over them. You weren't living among the people of Midian, reciting Our verses to them — but it was We Who sent messengers.
46. And you weren't there by the side of the mountain when We called out to Moses. But this is a mercy from your Lord, so you can warn people who never had a warner before you — maybe they'll remember.
47. Otherwise, if trouble struck them because of what their own hands did, they'd say, "Our Lord, why didn't You send us a messenger? We would've followed Your verses and become believers!"
48. But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why wasn't he given something like what Moses received?" Didn't they reject what Moses was given before? And they said, "These are two kinds of magic, helping each other," and they said, "We reject both."
49. Say, "Then bring a book from Allah that's better guidance than these two, and I'll follow it — if you're telling the truth."
50. But if they don't answer you, know that they're just following their own desires. And who's more lost than someone who follows his own desires without guidance from Allah? Allah doesn't guide those who do wrong.
51. We've explained Our message clearly to them, so they might remember.
52. Those who received the Book before this — they believe in it.
53. And when it's recited to them, they say, "We believe in it. It's the truth from our Lord. Even before this, we were already submitting to Him."
54. They'll be rewarded twice, because they were patient, and because they respond to evil with good, and because they give from what We've provided them.
55. When they hear useless talk, they turn away from it and say, "We have our deeds, and you have yours. Peace to you — we don't seek the company of the ignorant."
56. You can't guide everyone you love, but Allah guides whoever He wills. And He knows best who accepts guidance.
57. They say, "If we follow the guidance with you, we'll be driven from our land." Haven't We made a safe sanctuary for them, where all kinds of fruits are brought as provision from Us? But most of them don't understand.
58. How many towns have We destroyed that became arrogant about their comfortable lives? Those are their homes, hardly lived in after them — and We alone became the inheritors.
59. Your Lord wouldn't destroy towns until He first sent a messenger to their main city, reciting Our verses to them. And We wouldn't destroy towns unless their people were unjust.
60. Whatever you've been given is just enjoyment and decoration of this worldly life. But what Allah has is far better and lasts longer. Won't you then understand?
61. Can someone who We promised a wonderful promise — and who will surely receive it — be like someone We gave enjoyment only in this worldly life, but who, on the Day of Judgment, will be brought forward?
62. On that Day, Allah will call out to them, saying, "Where are those partners you claimed were Mine?"
63. Those who deserve punishment will say, "Our Lord, these are the people we led astray. We misled them, just as we ourselves went astray. We declare our innocence before You — it wasn't us they worshiped."
64. Then it will be said to them, "Call on your partners!" So they will call them, but receive no answer. And they will see the punishment — if only they had followed the right path!
65. On that Day, Allah will call out to them again, saying, "How did you respond to My messengers?"
66. But on that Day, all the facts will be hidden from them, so they won't even be able to ask each other.
67. But whoever repents, believes, and does good deeds — perhaps they will be among the successful.
68. Your Lord creates whatever He wills, and He chooses. They have no choice. Glory to Allah! He is far above the partners they associate with Him.
69. And your Lord knows everything their hearts hide, and everything they openly show.
70. He is Allah — there is no god except Him. Praise belongs to Him in this life, and in the Hereafter. All judgment belongs to Him, and to Him you will all return.
71. Say, "Have you thought about this? If Allah made the night last forever until the Day of Judgment, what god other than Allah could bring you light? Don't you listen?"
72. Say, "Have you thought about this? If Allah made the day last forever until the Day of Judgment, what god other than Allah could bring you night to rest in? Don't you see?"
73. Out of His mercy, He made the night and day for you — so you can rest peacefully at night, and seek His blessings during the day — and so you might be thankful.
74. On that Day, Allah will call out to them, saying, "Where are those partners you claimed were Mine?"
75. And from every community, We will bring a witness. Then We will say, "Bring your proof!" Then they will realize that all truth belongs to Allah alone, and the lies they invented have failed them completely.
76. Qarun was from Moses' people, but he treated them unfairly. We gave him so many treasures, that even strong men struggled to carry their keys. His people said to him, "Don't be so proud — Allah doesn't love those who show off."
77. "Instead, use what Allah has given you to seek the home of the Hereafter, but don't forget your share of this world. Be kind, just as Allah has been kind to you, and don't spread corruption on earth — Allah doesn't love corruptors."
78. Qarun replied, "I got all this because of my own knowledge." Didn't he realize that Allah had destroyed people before him, who were stronger and richer? The criminals won't even be asked about their sins.
79. Qarun came out before his people, showing off his wealth. Those who wanted this worldly life said, "If only we had what Qarun has — he's really lucky!"
80. But those who had knowledge said, "Shame on you! Allah's reward is far better for those who believe and do good deeds. Only those who are patient will receive it."
81. Then We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. He had no one to help him against Allah, and he couldn't save himself.
82. By the next morning, the people who had wished to be in his place were saying, "Now we see clearly — Allah gives plenty or little to whoever He chooses. If Allah hadn't been kind to us, He would have caused the earth to swallow us too. Oh, how the disbelievers never succeed."
83. That home of the Hereafter — We reserve it for those who don't seek superiority or corruption on earth. The best outcome belongs to those who are mindful of Allah.
84. Whoever comes with a good deed will receive something even better. But whoever comes with a bad deed will only get exactly what they deserve for what they've done.
85. The One Who has given you the Quran will surely bring you back home. Say, "My Lord knows best who brings true guidance, and who is clearly lost."
86. You never expected this Book to be revealed to you — it came only as a mercy from your Lord. So never support those who reject the truth.
87. And don't let anyone turn you away from Allah's verses after they've been revealed to you. Invite people to your Lord, and never join those who worship others besides Allah.
88. And never call upon another god alongside Allah. There is no god except Him. Everything will pass away, except His presence. All judgment belongs to Him, and to Him you will all return.
