In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.
1. Allah's command has come, so don't rush it. Glory to Him! He is far above anything they worship besides Him.
2. He sends down angels with revelation by His command, to whichever of His servants He chooses, saying, "Warn everyone that there is no god except Me, so fear only Me."
3. He created the heavens and the earth with truth. He is far above anything they worship besides Him.
4. He created the human being from a tiny drop, yet suddenly he becomes an open challenger.
5. And He created livestock for you. They give you warmth and many benefits, and you eat from them too.
6. They also bring you beauty and joy when you bring them home in the evening, and when you lead them out in the morning.
7. And they carry your heavy loads to distant places you couldn't reach without great hardship. Truly, your Lord is gentle and kind.
8. And He created horses, mules, and donkeys — for you to ride, and as something beautiful. And He creates many other things you don't even know about.
9. Allah clearly shows the right path, but some paths go astray. If He had wanted, He could have guided you all.
10. He is the One Who sends down rain from the sky. From it you drink, and from it grow plants where your animals graze.
11. With it He makes crops grow for you — olives, date palms, grapes, and all kinds of fruits. Truly, in this is a sign for people who think deeply.
12. He has made the night and the day, the sun and the moon, all helpful to you. And the stars are under His command. Truly, in this are signs for people who understand.
13. And all the different things He has created for you on earth, in so many colors — truly, in this is a clear sign for people who remember.
14. He is the One Who made the sea useful for you, so you can eat fresh meat from it, and bring out jewelry you wear. You see ships sailing through it, so you can seek His blessings and be thankful.
15. And He placed firm mountains on the earth, so it wouldn't shake beneath you, and rivers and paths, so you might find your way.
16. And landmarks too. And by the stars, people find their way.
17. Can someone who creates be equal to someone who cannot create? Won't you think and remember?
18. If you tried to count Allah's blessings, you could never count them all. Allah is truly forgiving and full of mercy.
19. Allah knows everything you hide and everything you show openly.
20. Those beings they pray to besides Allah — they can't create anything; they themselves were created.
21. They're dead, not alive, and they don't even know when they'll be brought back to life.
22. Your God is One God. But those who don't believe in the Hereafter — their hearts refuse the truth, and they're full of pride.
23. Without doubt, Allah knows everything they hide and everything they reveal. He certainly doesn't love those who are proud.
24. When they're asked, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Just old stories from long ago."
25. On the Day of Judgment, they'll carry the full weight of their own sins, plus some of the sins of those they misled without knowing. How terrible the burden they'll carry!
26. People before them made evil plans, but Allah struck at the foundations of their buildings, and the roofs fell down on them from above. Punishment came to them from where they least expected.
27. Then, on the Day of Judgment, He'll shame them and say, "Where are those partners you argued about?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Today shame and misery fall upon those who rejected the truth."
28. Those whose lives the angels take while they're wronging themselves — they'll try to surrender, saying, "We weren't doing anything wrong!" But yes, Allah knows exactly what you were doing.
29. So enter the gates of Hell, where you'll stay forever. What a terrible home for those who were proud!
30. But when those who were mindful of Allah are asked, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Goodness!" For those who do good, there's goodness in this world, and the home of the Hereafter is even better. How wonderful is the home of those who are mindful of Allah.
31. Gardens of eternity, which they'll enter, with rivers flowing beneath them. There they'll have whatever they wish for. That's how Allah rewards those who are mindful of Him.
32. Those whose lives the angels take while they're pure and good. The angels say to them, "Peace be upon you! Enter Paradise because of the good you used to do."
33. Are they waiting for anything except the angels to come to them, or for your Lord's command to arrive? That's exactly what people before them did. Allah wasn't unfair to them — they were unfair to themselves.
34. So the evil they did struck them, and the very thing they used to laugh at surrounded them completely.
35. Those who worshiped others besides Allah said, "If Allah had wanted, neither we nor our parents would have worshiped anything besides Him, nor would we have forbidden anything without His permission." People before them said the same thing. But is there anything the messengers have to do except deliver Allah's message clearly?
36. We sent a messenger to every community, saying, "Worship Allah and stay away from false gods." Some people Allah guided, while others lost their way. So travel through the land and see what happened to those who rejected the truth.
37. Even if you really want to guide them, Allah doesn't guide those He lets go astray, and they won't have anyone to help them.
38. They swore by Allah with their strongest promises, "Allah won't bring the dead back to life." But He definitely will — it's a true promise He made — but most people don't realize it.
39. He will make clear to them the truth they argued about, and those who rejected the truth will realize they were lying.
40. When We want something to happen, We only say to it, "Be," and it is.
41. Those who left their homes for Allah's sake after being treated unfairly, We will surely give them a good home in this world — but the reward of the Hereafter is even greater, if only they knew.
42. They are the ones who stayed patient and trusted in their Lord.
43. We only sent before you men who received Our revelations. So ask the people who know the scriptures if you don't know.
44. We sent them with clear proofs and scriptures. And We sent down the Quran to you, so you can clearly explain to people what was revealed to them, and so they might think carefully.
45. Do those who plan evil deeds feel safe that Allah won't make the earth swallow them, or that punishment won't come to them from where they least expect?
46. Or that He won't seize them suddenly while they're busy going about their lives? They can't escape.
47. Or that He won't take them while they're afraid? Yet your Lord is truly gentle and merciful.
48. Haven't they noticed how the shadows of everything Allah created shift from right to left, bowing humbly before Allah?
49. Everything in the heavens and every creature on earth bows down to Allah, and so do the angels — they don't act proudly.
50. They fear their Lord above them, and they do exactly as they're told.
51. Allah says, "Do not worship two gods. There is only One God, so fear only Me."
52. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him, and obedience is always due to Him alone. Will you then fear anyone besides Allah?
53. Every blessing you have is from Allah. Yet, when trouble touches you, you cry out only to Him for help.
54. But when He takes your trouble away, some of you start worshiping others along with your Lord.
55. To show no gratitude for what We gave them. So enjoy yourselves for a while — you will soon know.
56. They even give a share of what We provided them to things they know nothing about. By Allah, you will surely be asked about the lies you made up.
57. They claim daughters belong to Allah — glory be to Him! — while they choose for themselves what they desire.
58. When one of them is told the news of a baby girl, his face darkens with sadness, and he hides his anger inside.
59. He hides from people because of the bad news he received, wondering if he should keep her in shame or bury her in the ground. How terrible is the way they judge!
60. Those who don't believe in the Hereafter set the worst examples, while Allah sets the highest example. He is the Mighty, the Wise.
61. If Allah punished people immediately for their wrongdoing, He wouldn't leave a single living creature on earth. But He delays their punishment until a fixed time. And when their time comes, they can't delay it even by a moment, nor can they make it come sooner.
62. They give to Allah what they themselves dislike, and their tongues falsely claim they'll have the best reward. Without doubt, they'll have the Fire, and they'll be left abandoned.
63. By Allah, We sent messengers to communities before you, but Satan made their wrong actions seem good to them. Today, he's their friend, and they'll have a painful punishment.
64. We sent down the Book to you, only to make clear to them the things they argued about, and as guidance and mercy for people who believe.
65. Allah sends down water from the sky, bringing the earth back to life after its death. In this is a clear sign for people who listen.
66. And there is a lesson for you in cattle: We give you to drink from what is inside their bodies — pure milk, flowing smoothly between waste and blood, delicious for those who drink it.
67. And from the fruits of palm trees and grapevines, you make sweet drinks and good food. Surely, in this is a sign for people who think deeply.
68. And your Lord inspired the bees: "Make your homes in mountains, in trees, and in what people build.
69. Then eat from all kinds of fruits, and follow gently the paths your Lord made easy for you." From their bellies comes a drink of different colors, bringing healing for people. Truly, in this is a sign for those who reflect.
70. Allah created you, then He causes you to die. Some of you grow so old that, after knowing much, you no longer know anything. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
71. And Allah has favored some of you over others in wealth and provision. Yet those who have more don't share equally with their servants, making them equal to themselves. Do they then deny Allah's blessings?
72. And Allah has given you spouses from among yourselves, and from your spouses He has given you children and grandchildren. And He has provided you with good things. Do they then believe in falsehood, and deny Allah's blessings?
73. And they worship besides Allah things that have no power at all to provide them with anything from the heavens or the earth, and they never could.
74. So don't compare anything to Allah. Truly, Allah knows, and you don't know.
75. Allah gives you an example: a slave who belongs to someone else, who has no power over anything, and another person whom We have given good provision, who spends from it openly and secretly. Are they equal? Praise belongs to Allah! But most of them don't understand.
76. And Allah gives another example: two men — one of them is unable to speak, powerless, and a burden to his master. Wherever he sends him, he brings no good. Is he equal to the one who commands justice and is on a straight path?
77. To Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the coming of the Hour is as quick as the blink of an eye — or even closer. Truly, Allah has power over everything.
78. Allah brought you out from your mothers' wombs knowing nothing, and He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts, so that you might be thankful.
79. Don't they see the birds flying smoothly through the sky? Nothing holds them up except Allah. Truly, in this are clear signs for people who believe.
80. Allah made your homes places of rest, and He gave you shelters from animal skins — easy to carry when you travel, and when you settle down. And from their wool, fur, and hair, He gave you furniture and useful things for a while.
81. Allah made shade for you from what He created, and shelters for you in the mountains, and clothes that protect you from heat, and armor that protects you in battle. This is how He completes His blessings upon you, so that you may surrender to Him.
82. But if they turn away, your only duty is to deliver the clear message.
83. They recognize Allah's blessings, yet they deny them — and most of them are ungrateful.
84. On the Day when We raise up a witness from every community, those who disbelieved won't be allowed to speak, nor will they be given another chance to make things right.
85. When those who did wrong see the punishment, it won't be reduced for them, nor will they be given extra time.
86. When those who worshiped others besides Allah see their false partners, they'll cry out, "Our Lord, these are the ones we prayed to instead of You!" But their false partners will reply, "You're definitely lying!"
87. On that Day, they'll surrender completely to Allah, and everything they made up will vanish from them.
88. Those who disbelieved and blocked others from Allah's path — We'll add punishment on top of punishment for all the trouble they caused.
89. On the Day when We raise up from every community a witness from among themselves, We'll bring you as a witness over these people. We've sent down the Book to you, clearly explaining everything, as guidance, mercy, and good news for those who submit to Allah.
90. Allah commands justice, kindness, and generosity to relatives. He forbids all shameful acts, wrongdoing, and cruelty. He teaches you, so you may remember and follow His advice.
91. Keep your promises to Allah whenever you make them, and don't break your oaths after you've confirmed them, since you've made Allah your promise. Allah truly knows everything you do.
92. Don't be like the woman who carefully spun her thread, then foolishly unraveled it again. Don't use your promises to trick each other, just because one group seems stronger than another. Allah tests you through this, and on the Day of Judgment, He'll clearly show you the truth about your disagreements.
93. If Allah had wanted, He could've made you all one community. But He lets some lose their way, and He guides others as He chooses. You'll surely be asked about everything you did.
94. Don't use your promises to trick each other, causing your feet to slip after standing firm. If you do, you'll taste suffering for turning others away from Allah's path, and you'll face a terrible punishment.
95. Don't trade your promise to Allah for a small price. What Allah has for you is far better, if only you knew.
96. Whatever you have will run out, but what Allah has lasts forever. We'll surely reward those who patiently endured, with the best reward for all the good they've done.
97. Whoever does good deeds, whether male or female, and truly believes, We will surely give them a good and happy life, and We will reward them according to the best of what they did.
98. So when you recite the Quran, ask Allah to protect you from Satan, the rejected one.
99. Satan has no power over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
100. His power is only over those who follow him, and those who worship others alongside Allah.
101. When We replace one verse with another — and Allah knows best what He sends down — they say, "You're just making things up." But most of them don't understand.
102. Say, "The Holy Spirit brought it down from your Lord with truth, to strengthen those who believe, and as guidance and good news for those who surrender to Allah."
103. We know very well that they say, "A human being is teaching him." But the language of the person they point to is foreign, while this Quran is in clear Arabic.
104. Those who don't believe in Allah's verses, Allah will not guide them, and they will have a painful punishment.
105. Only those who don't believe in Allah's verses invent lies, and they are the ones who lie.
106. Whoever rejects Allah after believing in Him — except someone forced to do it while their heart remains firm in faith — but whoever willingly opens their heart to disbelief, they will face Allah's anger, and a great punishment awaits them.
107. That is because they chose this worldly life over the Hereafter, and Allah does not guide those who reject Him.
108. These are the ones whose hearts, hearing, and sight Allah has sealed — they are the ones who don't pay attention.
109. Without doubt, in the Hereafter, they will be the real losers.
110. But your Lord is truly forgiving and kind to those who had to leave their homes after being tested, then struggled patiently and stayed strong — after all this, your Lord is forgiving and merciful.
111. Remember the Day when every person will come forward, arguing for themselves, and each one will be repaid exactly for what they did — no one will be treated unfairly.
112. Allah gives you an example of a town that was safe and peaceful, receiving plenty of provisions from every direction. But its people became ungrateful for Allah's blessings, so He made them taste hunger and fear, because of what they used to do.
113. A messenger from among them came to them, but they called him a liar. So punishment overtook them while they were doing wrong.
114. So eat from the good and lawful things Allah has provided for you, and be thankful for His blessings, if you truly worship Him.
115. He has only forbidden you to eat animals found dead, blood, pork, and anything offered in the name of someone other than Allah. But if someone is forced by necessity — not wanting to disobey or cross limits — then Allah is forgiving and merciful.
116. And don't falsely say with your tongues, "This is allowed," and "This is forbidden," making up lies about Allah. Those who invent lies about Allah will never succeed.
117. They might enjoy things for a short while, but a painful punishment awaits them.
118. For those who followed Judaism, We made unlawful what We told you about before. We didn't wrong them — they wronged themselves.
119. But your Lord is truly forgiving and kind to those who did wrong out of ignorance, then turned back to Him afterward and made things right. After that, your Lord is always Forgiving and Merciful.
120. Abraham was a role model, devoted to Allah, sincere in faith, and never worshiped anything besides Allah.
121. He was deeply thankful for Allah's blessings. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path.
122. We gave him goodness in this world. And in the Hereafter, he will surely be among the righteous.
123. Then We revealed to you: "Follow the way of Abraham, who was sincere in faith, and never worshiped anything besides Allah."
124. The Sabbath was only made important for those who disagreed about it. On the Day of Judgment, your Lord will certainly judge between them about their disagreements.
125. Invite people to your Lord's path, with wisdom and gentle advice, and discuss things with them in the best possible way. Your Lord knows best who has wandered from His path, and He knows best who is rightly guided.
126. If you must respond to harm, respond only with what is equal to what you suffered. But if you are patient, that's definitely better for those who are patient.
127. Be patient — your patience comes only from Allah. Don't feel sad about them, and don't feel upset by the plans they make.
128. Allah is truly with those who are mindful of Him and who do good.
