In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

1. Alif. Lam. Ra. This is a Book whose verses are perfected, then clearly explained — from the One Who is Wise and Fully Aware.

2. Worship no one but Allah. Truly, I am sent by Him to warn you, and to bring you good news.

3. Ask your Lord to forgive you, then turn back to Him sincerely. He will let you enjoy a good life for a set time, and He will reward everyone who does good with His kindness. But if you turn away, then I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.

4. To Allah you will all return, and He has power over everything.

5. See how they hide their feelings deep inside, thinking they can keep secrets from Him. Even when they cover themselves with their clothes, He knows everything they hide and everything they show. He truly knows what is in everyone's heart.

6. There is no creature on earth whose food isn't provided by Allah. He knows exactly where each one lives and where each one rests. All of this is clearly recorded in a Book.

7. He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and His throne was upon water. He created you to test who among you does the best deeds. Yet, if you tell those who disbelieve, "You will be raised to life again after death," they will surely say, "This is nothing but clear magic."

8. And if We delay their punishment for a limited time, they will surely say, "What is holding it back?" But on the day it comes, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by the very thing they used to laugh at.

9. If We let a human being taste mercy from Us, then take it away, he quickly becomes hopeless and ungrateful.

10. But if We let him taste happiness after hardship has touched him, he says, "All my troubles are gone!" and he becomes proud and boastful.

11. Except for those who are patient and do good deeds — they will have forgiveness and a great reward.

12. Perhaps you feel like leaving out some of what is revealed to you, and your heart feels tight because they say, "Why hasn't a treasure been sent down to him, or why hasn't an angel come with him?" But you are only a warner, and Allah takes care of everything.

13. Or do they say, "He made this up"? Say, "Then bring ten chapters like it, made up, and call whoever you can besides Allah, if you're telling the truth."

14. But if they don't answer your challenge, then know that this Quran was sent down with Allah's knowledge, and that there is no god except Him. So, will you surrender to Him?

15. Those who want this worldly life and its beauty — We'll fully reward them here for what they've done, and they won't be cheated.

16. But in the Hereafter, they'll have nothing but the Fire. Everything they did here will be worthless there, and all their efforts will come to nothing.

17. Can someone who has clear proof from his Lord, supported by a witness from Him, and before it the Book of Moses as guidance and mercy? These are the ones who truly believe in it. But those who reject it from the different groups—the Fire is where they'll end up. So don't doubt this. It's the truth from your Lord, but most people don't believe.

18. Who could be more unfair than someone who makes up lies about Allah? Those people will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied about their Lord." Truly, Allah's curse is upon those who do wrong.

19. Those who block others from Allah's path, trying to make it seem crooked, and who deny the Hereafter.

20. They can't escape Allah on earth, and they have no protectors besides Him. Their punishment will be doubled. They couldn't hear, nor could they see.

21. Those are the ones who've lost themselves, and all the lies they invented have abandoned them.

22. Without doubt, they'll be the biggest losers in the Hereafter.

23. But those who believe, do good deeds, and humbly turn to their Lord — they'll be the people of Paradise, living there forever.

24. The example of these two groups is like the blind and deaf compared to those who can see and hear. Are they equal in any way? Won't you think about this?

25. We sent Noah to his people, and he said, "I'm here to clearly warn you.

26. Don't worship anyone but Allah. I'm afraid for you of a painful punishment on a painful Day."

27. But the leaders who disbelieved among his people said, "We see you as just a human like us, and we see only the lowest among us following you, without thinking. We don't see any advantage you have over us. In fact, we think you're lying."

28. Noah said, "My people, think about this: what if I have clear proof from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Himself, but you can't see it? Should we force you to accept it, even though you don't want to?

29. My people, I'm not asking you for money. My reward comes only from Allah. And I won't drive away those who believe — they will surely meet their Lord. But I see that you're acting ignorantly.

30. My people, who would protect me from Allah if I drove them away? Won't you think carefully?

31. I'm not telling you that I have Allah's treasures, or that I know the unseen, or that I'm an angel. And I won't say that Allah won't give any good to those you look down on. Allah knows best what's in their hearts. If I said that, I'd definitely be doing wrong."

32. They said, "Noah, you've argued with us too much. So bring us the punishment you're promising, if you're telling the truth."

33. Noah said, "Only Allah will bring it to you if He wills, and you can't escape Him.

34. My advice won't help you, no matter how much I want to advise you, if Allah has decided to let you lose your way. He is your Lord, and you'll return to Him."

35. Or do they say, "He made it all up"? Say, "If I made it up, then the blame is mine alone, but I'm innocent of the wrongs you're committing."

36. It was revealed to Noah, "No one else from your people will believe, except those who already have. So don't be sad about what they keep doing."

37. "Build the Ark under Our watchful eyes and guidance, and don't speak to Me about those who did wrong — they will surely drown."

38. Noah began building the Ark. Whenever some leaders from his people passed by, they laughed at him. He said, "If you're laughing at us now, we'll soon laugh at you just as you laugh at us."

39. "You'll soon find out who will face a punishment that shames him, and who will suffer a lasting punishment."

40. When Our command came and water burst from the earth, We said, "Take into the Ark two of every kind, your family — except those already doomed — and those who believe." But only a few believed with him.

41. Noah said, "Come aboard! In the name of Allah, it will sail and anchor. My Lord is truly forgiving and kind."

42. The Ark sailed with them through waves as high as mountains. Noah called out to his son, who stood apart, "My dear son, come aboard with us! Don't stay with those who reject Allah!"

43. His son replied, "I'll climb a mountain — it'll protect me from the water." Noah said, "Today, nothing can protect anyone from Allah's command, except those He shows mercy." Then a wave came between them, and his son was among those who drowned.

44. Then it was said, "Earth, swallow up your water! Sky, hold back your rain!" The waters receded, the command was fulfilled, and the Ark rested on Mount Judi. It was said, "Away with those who did wrong!"

45. Noah called out to his Lord, saying, "My Lord, my son was part of my family, and Your promise is always true. You're the most fair of all judges."

46. Allah replied, "Noah, he's not part of your family — his actions weren't good. So don't ask Me about things you don't understand. I warn you not to be among those who don't know."

47. Noah said, "My Lord, I seek Your protection from asking You about things I don't understand. If You don't forgive me and have mercy on me, I'll surely be among the losers."

48. It was said, "Noah, come down from the Ark, with peace and blessings from Us, upon you, and upon some communities that will come from those with you. But there will be other communities that We'll let enjoy life for a while, then they'll face a painful punishment from Us."

49. These are stories of the unseen, which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew them before this. So be patient — the final success belongs to those who are mindful of Allah.

50. And to the people of Aad, We sent their brother Hud. He said, "My people, worship Allah alone — you have no god but Him. You are only making things up."

51. "My people, I don't ask you for any reward. My reward comes only from the One Who created me. Won't you understand?"

52. "My people, ask your Lord to forgive you, then turn back to Him. He will send down plenty of rain for you, and will give you more strength than you already have. Don't turn away, doing wrong."

53. They said, "Hud, you haven't brought us any clear proof. We're not going to leave our gods just because you say so, and we don't believe you."

54. "We only think some of our gods have harmed you." Hud replied, "I call Allah as my witness, and you too be witnesses, that I have nothing to do with the idols you worship."

55. "Besides Him. So, all of you, plan against me if you want, and don't give me any extra time."

56. "I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Every living creature is completely under His control. My Lord is on a straight path."

57. "If you turn away, I've already delivered the message I was sent to give you. My Lord will replace you with another people, and you can't harm Him at all. My Lord watches over everything."

58. And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, through Our mercy. We saved them from a harsh punishment.

59. That was Aad — they rejected the signs of their Lord, disobeyed His messengers, and followed the orders of every stubborn tyrant.

60. They were followed by a curse in this world, and they will be cursed on the Day of Judgment. Truly, Aad rejected their Lord. So away with Aad, the people of Hud!

61. And to the people of Thamud, We sent their brother Salih. He said, "My people, worship Allah alone — you have no god except Him. He created you from the earth and made you settle there. So ask His forgiveness, then turn back to Him. My Lord is near, and He answers prayers."

62. They said, "Salih, before this, we had high hopes for you. Are you telling us not to worship what our ancestors worshiped? We really doubt what you're calling us to — it makes us suspicious."

63. He replied, "My people, think carefully: if I have clear proof from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allah if I disobeyed Him? You only push me toward loss."

64. "And my people, this camel is a sign from Allah for you. Let her graze freely on Allah's land, and don't harm her, or else a punishment will soon come upon you."

65. But they killed her. So Salih told them, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for just three more days. This promise will surely come true."

66. When Our command came, We saved Salih and those who believed with him by Our mercy from the disgrace of that day. Truly, your Lord is strong and mighty.

67. And a terrible blast struck those who did wrong, leaving them lifeless in their homes.

68. As if they had never lived there at all. Indeed, the people of Thamud rejected their Lord. So away with Thamud!

69. Our messengers came to Abraham with good news. They greeted him, saying, "Peace!" He replied, "Peace," and quickly brought them a roasted calf.

70. But when he saw their hands not reaching for the food, he felt uneasy and became afraid of them. They said, "Don't be afraid — we've been sent to the people of Lot."

71. His wife was standing nearby, and she laughed. Then We gave her the good news of Isaac, and after Isaac, Jacob.

72. She cried out, "Oh my! How can I have a child when I'm an old woman, and my husband here is an old man? This is truly amazing!"

73. They said, "Are you amazed at Allah's command? Allah's mercy and blessings are upon you, family of Abraham. He is truly Praiseworthy, Glorious."

74. When Abraham's fear went away, and the good news reached him, he began pleading with Us about the people of Lot.

75. Abraham was gentle, tender-hearted, and always turning back to Allah.

76. "Abraham, leave this matter alone. Your Lord's command has come, and a punishment is coming to them that can't be stopped."

77. When Our messengers came to Lot, he felt deeply troubled and helpless because of them. He said, "This is a terribly difficult day."

78. His people rushed toward him — and they had already been doing evil deeds before. Lot said, "My people, these are my daughters — they're purer for you. Fear Allah, and don't shame me in front of my guests. Isn't there even one sensible man among you?"

79. They said, "You know very well we have no interest in your daughters. You know exactly what we want."

80. He said, "If only I had the strength to stop you, or could lean on strong support!"

81. The messengers said, "Lot, we are messengers from your Lord—they won't reach you. Leave with your family during part of the night, and don't let anyone look back — except your wife; what will happen to them will happen to her. Their appointed time is morning — isn't morning near?"

82. When Our command came, We turned their city upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay, falling continuously.

83. Marked by your Lord. And this it isn't far from other wrongdoers.

84. And to the people of Midian, We sent their brother Shuayb. He said, "My people, worship Allah — you have no other god but Him. Don't cheat when you measure or weigh things. I see you're doing well now, but I fear for you the punishment of a day that surrounds everyone."

85. "My people, be fair and honest when you measure and weigh. Don't take away from people what belongs to them, and don't spread trouble and corruption on earth."

86. "What Allah leaves for you is better, if you truly believe. I'm not your keeper."

87. They said, "Shuayb, does your prayer tell you we should leave what our ancestors worshiped, or stop doing whatever we want with our own money? You're really so patient and wise!"

88. He said, "My people, think carefully — what if I have clear proof from my Lord, and He has blessed me with good things from Him? I don't want to go against you by doing what I tell you not to do. I only want to make things better as much as I can. My success comes only from Allah. I trust Him completely, and I turn to Him."

89. "My people, don't let your disagreement with me lead you to suffer the same fate as the people of Noah, or Hud, or Salih. And remember, the people of Lot aren't far from you."

90. "Ask your Lord for forgiveness, then turn back to Him. My Lord is truly merciful and loving."

91. They said, "Shuayb, we don't understand much of what you're saying. We see you're weak among us. If it weren't for your family, we would have stoned you. You're not important to us."

92. He said, "My people, is my family more important to you than Allah, that you ignore Him completely? My Lord surrounds everything you do."

93. "My people, do whatever you choose, and I'll do what I must. Soon you'll see who will face a humiliating punishment, and who is lying. Just wait — I'm waiting with you."

94. When Our command came, We saved Shuayb and those who believed with him, through Our mercy. But a terrible blast struck those who did wrong, and they fell lifeless in their homes.

95. As if they'd never lived there. So away with Midian, just like Thamud was swept away!

96. And We sent Moses with Our clear signs and powerful proof.

97. To Pharaoh and his leaders — but they followed Pharaoh's orders, even though Pharaoh's orders weren't right.

98. He will lead his people on the Day of Judgment, bringing them straight into the Fire. What a terrible place to be led into!

99. They were followed by a curse in this world, and they'll be cursed again on the Day of Judgment. What a terrible thing to be given!

100. These are stories of towns We tell you about — some still stand, and some have been wiped away.

101. We didn't wrong them, but they wronged themselves. When your Lord's command came, the gods they called on besides Allah couldn't help them at all — they only made their ruin worse.

102. This is how your Lord punishes towns when they do wrong — His punishment is truly painful and severe.

103. In this is a lesson for anyone who fears the punishment of the Hereafter. That is the Day when all people will be gathered, a Day everyone will witness.

104. We only delay it until a set time.

105. On the Day it comes, no one will speak without His permission. Some people will be miserable, and others joyful.

106. Those who are miserable will be in the Fire, breathing heavily and sighing deeply.

107. They will stay there as long as the heavens and the earth last, unless your Lord wills otherwise. Your Lord surely does whatever He wishes.

108. And those who are joyful will be in Paradise, staying there as long as the heavens and the earth last, unless your Lord wills otherwise — a gift that will never end.

109. So don't have any doubts about what these people worship. They worship only as their ancestors worshiped before. We will certainly give them their full share without any loss.

110. We gave Moses the Book, but people disagreed about it. If it weren't for a promise from your Lord, their differences would have been settled already. They are truly in deep doubt about it.

111. Your Lord will certainly give everyone exactly what they deserve for their actions. He knows everything they do.

112. So stay firm on the right path, just as you've been told, along with those who turned back to Allah with you. Don't cross the limits. He sees clearly everything you do.

113. And don't lean toward those who do wrong, or the Fire will touch you. You won't have any protectors besides Allah, and you won't be helped.

114. Pray regularly at both ends of the day, and during parts of the night. Good deeds wipe away bad deeds. This is a reminder for those who remember.

115. Be patient, because Allah never lets the reward of those who do good go to waste.

116. Why weren't there more good people in the generations before you, who stood against corruption on earth? Only a few did, and We saved them. But those who did wrong chased after worldly pleasures and became guilty.

117. Your Lord would never unfairly destroy towns if their people were trying to do good.

118. If your Lord had wanted, He could have made all people into one community, but they will always keep disagreeing.

119. Except those your Lord shows mercy to — and that's why He created them. Your Lord's word is final: "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and humans all together."

120. We tell you all these stories of the messengers to strengthen your heart. In these stories, the truth has come to you, along with advice and reminders for the believers.

121. Say to those who don't believe, "Keep doing whatever you're doing — we'll keep doing what we're doing.

122. And wait — we're waiting too."

123. Everything hidden in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, and all matters return to Him. So worship Him and trust Him completely. Your Lord is never unaware of what you do.
