In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. By the dawn.

2. And by the ten nights.

3. And by the even and the odd.

4. And by the night when it passes.

5. Isn't this a promise for those who understand?

6. Didn't you see what your Lord did to Aad?

7. The city of Iram, with its tall pillars.

8. Nothing like it was ever built in any land.

9. And Thamud, who carved the rocks in the valley.

10. And Pharaoh, the one of the stakes.

11. They all behaved badly in their lands.

12. And they spread lots of trouble there.

13. So your Lord poured punishment down on them.

14. Your Lord is always watching carefully.

15. When a human is tested by his Lord, and He honors him and gives him nice things, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

16. But when He tests him by giving him less, he says, "My Lord has treated me badly."

17. No, that's not right — you don't treat orphans kindly.

18. And you don't encourage each other to feed poor people.

19. And you take all the inheritance for yourselves.

20. And you love money very much.

21. No! When the earth is smashed and crushed completely.

22. And your Lord comes, and the angels come, row after row.

23. And Hellfire is brought near. On that day, the human will remember — but how will remembering help him then?

24. He will say, "I wish I had done good things for my life."

25. On that day, no one will punish like His punishment.

26. And no one will tie up like His tying up.

27. "O peaceful soul.

28. Return to your Lord, happy and making Him happy.

29. Join My servants.

30. And enter My Paradise."
