In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.
1. Hasn't there been a time when the human being was nothing anyone talked about?
2. We created the human being from a tiny drop, mixed together, to test him. Then We gave him hearing and sight.
3. We showed him the right way — he can choose to be thankful or ungrateful.
4. We have prepared chains, cuffs, and a blazing fire for those who don't believe.
5. But good people will drink from cups of a drink mixed with camphor.
6. From a spring that Allah's servants will drink from, making it flow abundantly.
7. They keep their promises, and they're afraid of a day when trouble will spread everywhere.
8. They give food, even though they really want to keep it, to the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner.
9. They say, "We feed you only to please Allah. We don't want any reward or thanks from you.
10. We're afraid of a day from our Lord — a day that will be very difficult and make people sad."
11. So Allah will protect them from the trouble of that day, and He will give them brightness and happiness.
12. Because they were patient, He will reward them with a beautiful garden and soft silk clothes.
13. They'll relax there on comfy couches. They won't get too hot from the sun, or feel freezing cold.
14. The garden's shade will be close above them, and its fruits will hang low, easy to pick.
15. They'll be served with silver dishes and clear cups made of crystal.
16. Cups made of silver and as clear as crystal, just the right size for them.
17. They'll drink from cups filled with a drink mixed with ginger.
18. From a spring there called Salsabeel.
19. Young helpers who never grow old will serve them. When you see them, you'll think they're scattered pearls.
20. Wherever you look there, you'll see wonderful blessings and a great kingdom.
21. They'll wear clothes made of fine green silk and shiny fabric, and they'll have silver bracelets. Their Lord will give them a pure, refreshing drink.
22. He'll say, "This is your reward, and your efforts were appreciated."
23. We sent down the Quran to you, little by little.
24. So be patient with your Lord's decision, and don't listen to anyone who's sinful or ungrateful.
25. Remember your Lord's name in the morning and in the evening.
26. And during the night, bow down to Him, and praise Him for a long time.
27. These people love this quick life, and they leave behind a heavy day that's coming.
28. We created them and made their bodies strong. If We want, We can replace them with others just like them.
29. This is a reminder — so whoever wants can choose the path to their Lord.
30. But you can't want anything unless Allah wants it. Allah knows everything, and He's wise.
31. He brings whoever He wants into His kindness. But for those who do wrong, He has prepared a painful punishment.
