In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. Someone asked about a punishment that's going to happen.

2. It's for those who don't believe, and no one can stop it.

3. It comes from Allah, the Lord of pathways to Heaven.

4. The angels and the Spirit go up to Him on a day that's as long as fifty thousand years.

5. So be patient, with beautiful patience.

6. They think it's far away.

7. But We see it as very close.

8. On that day, the sky will look like melted metal.

9. And the mountains will be like fluffy wool.

10. Even best friends won't ask about each other.

11. They'll see each other clearly, but a guilty person will wish he could escape punishment by giving away his own children.

12. And his wife, and his brother.

13. And his family who took care of him.

14. And everyone on Earth — just to save himself.

15. But no! It's a blazing fire.

16. Pulling and burning the skin.

17. It calls those who turned away and didn't listen.

18. Who collected lots of things and kept them hidden.

19. Humans were created worried and impatient.

20. When something bad happens, they become upset and scared.

21. And when something good happens, they don't want to share.

22. Except those who pray.

23. Who are always praying.

24. And who set aside a clear share of their money.

25. For those who ask for help and those who have nothing.

26. And those who believe in the Day of Judgment.

27. And those who are afraid of their Lord's punishment.

28. Because no one can feel safe from their Lord's punishment.

29. And those who guard their private parts.

30. Except with their wives or those under their care — then they're not blamed.

31. But whoever goes beyond that, they're doing wrong.

32. And those who keep their promises and take care of what they're trusted with.

33. And those who tell the truth when they are witnesses.

34. And those who carefully guard their prayers.

35. They will be honored in beautiful gardens.

36. So what's wrong with those who don't believe, rushing toward you.

37. From the right and the left, in groups?

38. Does each one of them hope he'll enter a garden of happiness?

39. No! We created them from something they know well.

40. I swear by the Lord of all sunrises and sunsets, We have the power.

41. To replace them with others better than them, and no one can stop Us.

42. So leave them to talk and play, until they meet the day they've been promised.

43. On that day, they'll rush out of their graves, running quickly, as if racing toward a goal.

44. Their eyes will look down, covered in shame. That's the day they've been promised.
