In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them at the right time, and carefully count the waiting days. Be respectful to Allah, your Lord. Don't make them leave their homes, and they shouldn't leave either, unless they've clearly done something very wrong. These are Allah's rules. Whoever breaks Allah's rules hurts himself. You don't know — maybe Allah will make something good happen after this.

2. When their waiting time is almost finished, either keep them kindly or let them go kindly. Have two fair people from among you witness this, and be honest in your witnessing for Allah. This is advice for anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day. Whoever is careful to obey Allah, He will make a way out for them.

3. And He will give them what they need from places they never expected. Whoever trusts Allah, He is enough for them. Allah always completes His plans. Allah has set a clear measure for everything.

4. For women who no longer have their monthly periods, if you're unsure, their waiting time is three months. It's the same for those who haven't had their periods yet. For pregnant women, their waiting time ends when they have their baby. Whoever is careful to obey Allah, He will make things easy for them.

5. These are Allah's instructions, which He sent down to you. Whoever is careful to obey Allah, He will erase their mistakes and give them a big reward.

6. Let the women live comfortably where you live, as much as you can afford. Don't make things hard for them or hurt them. If they're pregnant, take care of their needs until they have their baby. If they nurse your baby, pay them fairly. Talk kindly and agree together. If you can't agree, another woman can nurse the baby.

7. A person who has plenty should spend from what they have. A person who has little should spend from what Allah has given them. Allah never asks anyone to do more than He has given them. After hard times, Allah will bring easier times.

8. Many towns disobeyed their Lord and His messengers. So We judged them strictly and punished them terribly.

9. They felt the result of their actions, and the end of their actions was loss.

10. Allah has prepared a strong punishment for them. So be careful to obey Allah, you who believe and understand. Allah has sent down to you a reminder.

11. A messenger who clearly recites Allah's verses to you, to bring those who believe and do good things out of darkness into light. Whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will bring them into beautiful gardens with rivers flowing beneath, where they'll stay forever. Allah has given them wonderful things.

12. Allah created seven heavens, and the same number of earths. His commands come down between them, so you can know that Allah has power over everything, and that Allah knows everything completely.
