In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. Everything in the heavens and on the earth praises Allah — the King, the Pure, the Mighty, the Wise.

2. He is the One Who sent a messenger from among people who didn't know about Allah. The messenger reads Allah's verses to them, helps them become good, and teaches them the Book and wisdom. Before this, they were clearly lost.

3. And there are others too, who haven't joined them yet. Allah is Mighty and Wise.

4. This is Allah's kindness. He gives it to whoever He wants. And Allah is full of wonderful kindness.

5. Those who were given the Torah but didn't follow it are like a donkey carrying heavy books. What a bad example for people who don't believe in Allah's verses! Allah doesn't guide people who do wrong.

6. Say, "You who follow the Jewish faith, if you really think you're special friends of Allah, different from other people, then wish for death, if you're telling the truth."

7. But they'll never wish for death, because of the wrong things they've done. Allah knows all about people who do wrong.

8. Say, "The death you're running away from will surely meet you. Then you'll return to Allah, Who knows everything hidden and everything seen. He'll tell you clearly about everything you've done."

9. Believers, when the call for prayer is made on Friday, hurry to remember Allah, and leave your buying and selling. That's better for you, if you only knew.

10. When the prayer is finished, you can spread out on the earth and look for Allah's gifts. Remember Allah often, so you can be successful.

11. But when they see something fun or some business, they rush off to it and leave you standing there. Say, "What Allah has is better than fun or business. Allah is the best provider."
