In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. The Hour is coming closer, and the moon has split apart.

2. But whenever they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "It's just magic that keeps happening."

3. They rejected the truth and followed their own wishes, but every matter will come to its settled end.

4. Stories have already come to them, with warnings to make them stop.

5. This is perfect wisdom, but the warnings do not help them.

6. So turn away from them. On the day when the caller calls them to something terrible.

7. Their eyes will look down, and they'll come out of their graves like scattered grasshoppers.

8. They'll hurry toward the caller, and those who didn't believe will say, "This is a very hard day!"

9. Before them, Noah's people didn't believe. They rejected Our servant and said, "He's crazy!" and they treated him badly.

10. So he prayed to his Lord, "I am being defeated, so help me!"

11. Then We opened the gates of the sky, pouring down lots of water.

12. And We made springs burst from the ground, so the waters met, just as Allah had decided.

13. We carried him on a boat made of wooden planks and nails.

14. It sailed under Our eyes, as a reward for Noah, who was rejected.

15. And We left this as a sign. So will anyone remember?

16. How was My punishment and My warnings?

17. We've made the Quran easy to remember. So will anyone remember?

18. Aad's people also rejected the truth. How was My punishment and My warnings?

19. We sent against them a strong, roaring wind on a day of endless trouble.

20. It picked up people and threw them down — like trunks of palm trees pulled from the ground.

21. How was My punishment and My warnings?

22. We've made the Quran easy to remember. So will anyone remember?

23. The people of Thamud didn't believe the warnings.

24. They said, "Should we follow just one human from among us? If we did, we'd be lost and crazy!"

25. "Why was the message given to him instead of us? He's just a liar who's too wicked!"

26. Tomorrow they'll know who's really the wicked liar.

27. We'll send them the camel as a test. So watch them carefully, and be patient.

28. Tell them the water must be shared fairly between them and the camel. Each one will take turns drinking.

29. But they called their friend, and he hurt the camel.

30. So how terrible was My punishment and My warning!

31. We sent just one mighty blast against them, and they became like dry, broken sticks used to build fences.

32. We've made the Quran easy to learn from. So will anyone pay attention?

33. The people of Lot didn't believe the warnings either.

34. We sent a storm of stones against them, except for Lot's family. We saved them early in the morning.

35. As a kindness from Us. That's how We reward those who are thankful.

36. Lot warned them about Our punishment, but they argued and didn't listen.

37. They even tried to take away his guests, so We took away their eyesight. Taste My punishment and My warning!

38. Early in the morning, a lasting punishment came down on them.

39. Taste My punishment and My warning!

40. We've made the Quran easy to learn from. So will anyone pay attention?

41. Warnings also came to Pharaoh's people.

42. But they didn't believe any of Our signs, so We punished them with the strength of a Mighty, Powerful One.

43. Are your disbelievers better than those people? Or do you have special protection written in the holy books?

44. Or do they say, "We're a strong group, and we'll win"?

45. Soon their group will be defeated, and they'll run away.

46. Actually, the Day of Judgment is their real appointment — and that day will be much harder and more painful.

47. Those who do wrong are lost, and will be in a blazing fire.

48. On that day, they'll be dragged into the Fire on their faces. They'll be told, "Feel the burning touch of Hell!"

49. We've created everything carefully, according to a perfect plan.

50. When We decide something, it happens in the blink of an eye.

51. We've destroyed others like you before. So will anyone pay attention?

52. Everything they've done is written down in books.

53. Every small and big thing is recorded clearly.

54. Those who obey Allah will be in gardens with rivers.

55. Sitting in a place of honor, near a Mighty King.
