In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. Ta. Seen. Meem.

2. These are the verses of the clear Book.

3. You might feel so sad that they don't believe.

4. If We wanted, We could send down a sign from the sky, and their necks would be humbled to it.

5. Whenever a new reminder comes to them from the Most Kind, they turn away from it.

6. They've already called it a lie, but soon they'll hear the news about what they used to make fun of.

7. Haven't they seen the earth, and how many wonderful plants We grow there?

8. That is a sign, but most of them don't believe.

9. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

10. Remember when your Lord called Moses, "Go to those people who do wrong.

11. Pharaoh's people. Won't they be careful to obey Allah?"

12. Moses said, "My Lord, I'm afraid they'll call me a liar.

13. My chest feels tight, and my tongue doesn't speak clearly, so please send for Aaron.

14. And they blame me for something, so I'm afraid they'll kill me."

15. Allah said, "No, they won't. Go, both of you, with Our signs. We're listening carefully.

16. Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of everyone and everything.

17. Let the Children of Israel go with us.'"

18. Pharaoh said, "Didn't we raise you as a child among us, and didn't you stay with us for many years?

19. And you did that thing you did, and you were ungrateful."

20. Moses said, "I did it when I was lost and didn't know better.

21. Then I ran away from you because I was afraid. But my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of His messengers.

22. And is this the favor you're reminding me of — that you made the Children of Israel your slaves?"

23. Pharaoh asked, "And what is the Lord of everyone and everything?"

24. Moses said, "He is the Lord of the skies and the earth and everything between them, if you're sure about it."

25. Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Are you listening to this?"

26. Moses continued, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your earliest ancestors."

27. Pharaoh said, "This messenger sent to you is crazy!"

28. Moses replied, "He is the Lord of the east and the west and everything between them, if you understand."

29. Pharaoh warned, "If you choose any god other than me, I'll surely put you in prison!"

30. Moses asked, "Even if I show you something clear?"

31. Pharaoh said, "Then show it, if you're telling the truth."

32. So Moses threw down his stick, and suddenly, it became a big snake.

33. Then he pulled out his hand, and it was white, for everyone to see.

34. Pharaoh said to the important people around him, "This man is a very skilled magician!"

35. "He wants to use his magic to take you out of your land. So what do you advise?"

36. They said, "Wait a while with him and his brother, and send messengers to all the cities."

37. "They'll bring you every skilled magician."

38. So the magicians were gathered together at a set time on a known day.

39. And the people were asked, "Will you all come together?"

40. "Maybe we'll follow the magicians if they win!"

41. When the magicians arrived, they asked Pharaoh, "Will we get a reward if we win?"

42. Pharaoh said, "Yes, and you'll be among my close friends."

43. Moses said to the magicians, "Throw whatever you're going to throw."

44. So they threw their ropes and sticks, and said, "By Pharaoh's power, we'll surely win!"

45. Then Moses threw his stick, and suddenly it swallowed up all the tricks they had made.

46. The magicians immediately bowed down to the ground.

47. They said, "We believe in the Lord of everyone and everything,".

48. "The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

49. Pharaoh shouted, "You believed in him before I gave you permission! He must be your leader who taught you magic. You'll soon see — I will cut off your hands and feet from opposite sides, and I'll crucify all of you!"

50. They said, "It doesn't matter. We will go back to our Lord."

51. "We hope our Lord will forgive our mistakes, because we were the first to believe."

52. We told Moses, "Leave secretly with My servants. Pharaoh's people will follow you."

53. Then Pharaoh sent messengers to all the cities.

54. Saying, "These people are just a small group.

55. And they're making us very angry.

56. But we're all ready and careful."

57. So We made Pharaoh's people leave their gardens and springs.

58. And their treasures and beautiful homes.

59. That's how We gave all those things to the Children of Israel.

60. Pharaoh's people followed them at sunrise.

61. When the two groups saw each other, Moses' friends said, "Oh no! They'll catch us!"

62. Moses said, "No! My Lord is with me, and He will guide me."

63. Then We told Moses, "Hit the sea with your stick." The sea split open, and each side stood like a huge mountain.

64. We brought Pharaoh's people closer to that place.

65. And We saved Moses and everyone with him.

66. Then We drowned the others.

67. In this story, there's a clear lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

68. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

69. Tell them the story of Abraham.

70. When he asked his father and his people, "What do you worship?"

71. They said, "We worship statues, and we stay near them all the time."

72. Abraham asked, "Do they hear you when you call them?

73. Can they help you or hurt you?"

74. They said, "No, but we saw our fathers doing this."

75. Abraham said, "Have you thought about what you've been worshiping.

76. You and your fathers before you?

77. They're my enemies, except the Lord of everyone and everything.

78. He's the One Who created me, and He guides me.

79. He's the One Who gives me food and drink.

80. And when I'm sick, He's the One Who makes me better.

81. He's the One Who will make me die, then bring me back to life.

82. And He's the One I hope will forgive my mistakes on the Day of Judgment.

83. My Lord, give me wisdom, and let me join the good people.

84. And let people remember me kindly in the future.

85. And make me one of those who will have the Garden of happiness.

86. And forgive my father, because he was one of those who lost their way.

87. And don't let me feel ashamed on the day when everyone is brought back to life.

88. The day when money and children won't help anyone.

89. Except those who come to Allah with a good, pure heart."

90. On that day, Paradise will be brought close to those who were careful to obey Allah.

91. And Hellfire will be shown clearly to those who did wrong.

92. They'll be asked, "Where are the things you worshiped.

93. Instead of Allah? Can they help you now, or even help themselves?"

94. Then they'll be thrown into Hellfire, along with those who lost their way.

95. And all the helpers of Satan.

96. They'll argue with each other in there.

97. Saying, "By Allah, we were clearly wrong.

98. When we made you equal to the Lord of everyone and everything.

99. Only the criminals led us away from the right path.

100. Now we have no one to speak for us.

101. And no close friend to help us.

102. If only we could go back, we'd be believers."

103. In this story, there's a clear lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

104. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

105. Noah's people didn't believe the messengers.

106. When their brother Noah said to them, "Won't you be careful to obey Allah?

107. I'm a messenger you can trust.

108. So respect Allah and obey me.

109. I'm not asking you for any reward. My reward comes only from the Lord of everyone and everything.

110. So respect Allah and obey me."

111. They said, "Should we believe you, when only the lowest people follow you?"

112. Noah said, "I don't know what they used to do.

113. Only my Lord will judge them, if you understand.

114. And I won't send away those who believe.

115. I'm only here to clearly warn you."

116. They said, "Noah, if you don't stop, we'll throw stones at you!"

117. Noah prayed, "My Lord, my people don't believe me.

118. Please decide between me and them, and save me and the believers who are with me."

119. So We saved him and those with him in the fully loaded ship.

120. Then afterward, We drowned all the others.

121. In this story is a lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

122. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

123. The people of Aad didn't believe the messengers.

124. When their brother Hud said to them, "Won't you be careful to obey Allah?

125. I'm a messenger you can trust.

126. So respect Allah and obey me.

127. I'm not asking you for any reward. My reward comes only from the Lord of everyone and everything.

128. Do you build tall towers on every hill, for no purpose?

129. And you build strong buildings, hoping you'll live forever?

130. And when you strike, you strike like bullies.

131. So respect Allah and obey me.

132. And respect the One Who gave you what you know.

133. He gave you animals and children.

134. And gardens and flowing springs.

135. I'm afraid you will be punished on a great day."

136. They said, "It doesn't matter to us if you warn us or not.

137. This is just the way of the people before.

138. And we won't be punished."

139. So they didn't believe him, and We destroyed them. In this story is a lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

140. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

141. The people of Thamud didn't believe the messengers.

142. When their brother Salih said to them, "Won't you be careful to obey Allah?

143. I'm a messenger you can trust.

144. So respect Allah and obey me.

145. I'm not asking you for any reward. My reward comes only from the Lord of everyone and everything.

146. Do you think you'll be left safe here forever?

147. In gardens and springs.

148. And fields, and palm trees full of sweet, soft fruit?

149. You carve houses out of mountains, feeling proud.

150. So respect Allah and obey me.

151. And don't obey those who go too far.

152. Those who cause trouble on earth and do not make things right."

153. They said, "You're just someone under a magic spell!

154. You're only a human like us. Show us a miracle if you're telling the truth."

155. He said, "Here is a camel. She has her turn to drink water, and you have your turn on a certain day.

156. Don't hurt her, or you'll be punished on a terrible day."

157. But they hurt the camel badly, and then they felt sorry.

158. So the punishment came to them. In this is a lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

159. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

160. Lot's people didn't believe the messengers.

161. When their brother Lot said to them, "Won't you respect Allah?

162. I'm a messenger you can trust.

163. So respect Allah and obey me.

164. I'm not asking you for any reward. My reward comes only from the Lord of everyone and everything.

165. Do you go to men among all people?

166. And leave the wives your Lord created for you? You're people who cross the limits."

167. They said, "Lot, if you don't stop, we'll surely throw you out!"

168. He said, "I really don't like what you're doing.

169. My Lord, save me and my family from what they're doing."

170. So We saved him and all his family.

171. Except for an old woman who stayed behind.

172. Then We destroyed the others.

173. We sent down a rain on them — what a terrible rain for those who were warned!

174. In this is a lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

175. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

176. The people of the forest denied the messengers.

177. When Shuayb said to them, "Won't you respect Allah?

178. I'm a messenger you can trust.

179. So respect Allah and obey me.

180. I'm not asking you for any reward. My reward comes only from the Lord of everyone and everything.

181. Give full measure, and don't cheat people.

182. Weigh things fairly and honestly.

183. Don't give people less than they deserve, and don't go around causing trouble on earth.

184. Respect the One who created you and all the people before you."

185. They said, "You're just someone under a magic spell!

186. You're only a human like us, and we think you're lying.

187. Make pieces of the sky fall on us if you're telling the truth!"

188. He said, "My Lord knows best what you're doing."

189. But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of the dark cloud came to them. It was truly a terrible day.

190. In this is a lesson, but most of them didn't believe.

191. And your Lord is the Mighty, the Most Kind.

192. This Quran was sent down by the Lord of everyone and everything.

193. The trustworthy angel brought it down.

194. Right into your heart, so you can warn people.

195. In clear Arabic language.

196. And it's mentioned in the scriptures of earlier people.

197. Isn't it a sign for them that the teachers of the Children of Israel know about it?

198. Even if We had sent it down to someone who didn't speak Arabic.

199. And if he read it to them, they still wouldn't believe in it.

200. That's how We place it into the hearts of the criminals.

201. They won't believe in it until they see the painful punishment.

202. It will come to them suddenly, when they're not expecting it.

203. Then they'll say, "Can we have more time?"

204. Do they really want Our punishment to hurry up?

205. Think about it — if We let them enjoy life for many years.

206. Then the punishment they were promised finally came.

207. All the nice things they enjoyed wouldn't help them at all.

208. We never destroyed any town without first sending someone to warn them.

209. As a reminder, and We were never unfair.

210. The devils didn't bring down this Quran.

211. It is not right for them, and they are not able to.

212. They're kept far away from hearing it.

213. So don't pray to any other god besides Allah, or you'll be punished.

214. And warn your closest family members.

215. Be kind and gentle to the believers who follow you.

216. But if they disobey you, say, "I'm not responsible for what you do."

217. And trust in Allah, the Mighty and Most Kind.

218. Who sees you when you stand up to pray.

219. And sees your movement among those who bow down.

220. He is the One who hears and knows everything.

221. Should I tell you who the devils come down to?

222. They come down to every lying, sinful person.

223. They secretly listen, but most of them tell lies.

224. And poets — people who are lost follow them.

225. Don't you see how poets wander around everywhere.

226. And how they say things they don't really do?

227. Except for those who believe, do good things, remember Allah often, and defend themselves after being treated unfairly. Those who do wrong will soon know what kind of return they'll have.
