In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.
1. O people, be aware of your Lord. The shaking on the Day of Judgment will be something huge.
2. On that day, you'll see mothers forgetting the babies they're feeding, and pregnant women will give birth to their babies. You'll see people looking confused and lost, even though they're not — but Allah's punishment is very strong.
3. Some people argue about Allah without knowing anything, and they follow every rebellious devil.
4. It's written that whoever follows the devil, he will lead them astray and take them to the punishment of the burning fire.
5. O people, if you're not sure about coming back to life, remember that We created you first from dust, then from a tiny drop, then from a little lump, then from a piece of flesh — shaped and unshaped — to show you clearly. We keep whoever We want safe inside their mothers until a set time, then We bring you out as babies. Then you grow up strong. Some of you pass away early, and some of you grow very old, forgetting everything you once knew. You see the earth dry and lifeless, but when We send down rain, it moves, grows, and brings out all kinds of beautiful plants.
6. This is because Allah is the Truth. He brings the dead back to life, and He can do anything.
7. The Day of Judgment is coming for sure, and Allah will bring back to life everyone who's in their graves.
8. Some people argue about Allah without any knowledge, without guidance, and without a clear book.
9. They turn away in pride to lead people away from Allah's path. They'll be ashamed in this world, and on the Day of Judgment, We'll make them feel the punishment of the burning fire.
10. This is because of what your own hands have done, and because Allah is never unfair to His servants.
11. Some people worship Allah only halfway. If something good happens to them, they're happy with it. But if something hard happens, they turn away completely. They lose both this world and the Hereafter — that's the clearest loss.
12. They pray to things other than Allah, things that can't hurt them or help them. That's being very far away from the right path.
13. They pray to things that harm them more than help them. What a terrible protector, and what a terrible friend!
14. Allah will bring those who believe and do good things into beautiful gardens with rivers flowing beneath them. Allah does whatever He wants.
15. If anyone thinks that Allah won't help him in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch a rope to the sky, then cut it off, and see if that takes away what makes him angry.
16. And that's how We sent down clear verses, and Allah guides whoever He wants.
17. Those who believe, and those who are Jews, Sabians, Christians, Magians, and those who worship others besides Allah — Allah will judge clearly between them on the Day of Judgment. Allah sees and knows everything.
18. Don't you see that everyone in the heavens and on earth bows down to Allah? The sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the animals, and many people bow down to Him. But many others deserve punishment. If Allah makes someone unimportant, no one can make them important again.
19. These two groups argue about their Lord. Those who don't believe will have clothes made of fire. Hot water will be poured over their heads.
20. It will burn what's inside their bellies and their skin.
21. And there will be iron rods for them.
22. Every time they try to escape from it because of their pain, they'll be brought back and told, "Taste the punishment of the burning fire."
23. But Allah will bring those who believe and do good deeds into gardens, with rivers flowing beneath them. They'll wear bracelets of gold and pearls, and their clothes will be made of silk.
24. They'll be guided to say good, kind words, and they'll be guided to the path of the One Who deserves all praise.
25. Those who don't believe and stop others from following Allah's way and from visiting the Sacred Mosque — which We made for all people, both those who live nearby and those who come from far away — whoever wants to do wrong there, We'll make them taste a painful punishment.
26. Remember when We showed Abraham the place of the Sacred House, saying, "Don't worship anyone besides Me, and keep My House clean for those who walk around it, those who stand in prayer, and those who bow and kneel down."
27. And call people to come for the pilgrimage. They'll come walking and riding tired camels from every faraway place.
28. They'll see many good things for themselves, and they'll remember Allah's name on special days, when they offer the animals He gave them. So eat from these animals, and feed those who are poor and in need.
29. Then let them clean themselves, fulfill their promises, and go around the ancient House.
30. That's how it should be. Whoever respects what Allah has made special, that's better for them with their Lord. Animals are allowed for you to eat, except the ones clearly mentioned to you. So stay away from the dirtiness of idols, and stay away from telling lies.
31. Worship Allah sincerely, without worshiping anyone else with Him. Whoever worships others besides Allah is like someone who falls from the sky — then birds snatch him away, or the wind blows him far away to a distant place.
32. That's how it is. Whoever respects the special signs of Allah, it shows the goodness of their heart.
33. You get benefits from these animals for a certain time. Then their final place is at the ancient House.
34. For every group of people, We made special ways to worship. They remember Allah's name over the animals He gave them. Your God is One God, so submit to Him. And give good news to those who are humble.
35. Those whose hearts feel deep respect when Allah is mentioned, who stay patient when hard things happen, who pray regularly, and who share what We gave them.
36. We made the big animals part of Allah's special signs for you. There's good in them for you. So say Allah's name over them when they're lined up. When they fall down, eat from them, and feed those who are content and those who ask. That's how We made them helpful to you, so you can be thankful.
37. Their meat and blood don't reach Allah. What reaches Him is your goodness. That's how He made them helpful to you, so you can praise Allah for guiding you. And give good news to those who do good.
38. Allah protects those who believe. Allah doesn't love anyone who is a cheater or ungrateful.
39. Permission is given to those who are attacked, because they were treated unfairly. Allah is fully able to help them win.
40. They were forced out of their homes unfairly, just because they said, "Our Lord is Allah." If Allah didn't let some people stop others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques — where Allah's name is remembered often — would have been destroyed. Allah will surely help those who help Him. Allah is strong and mighty.
41. They're the ones who, if We give them power on earth, pray regularly, give charity, tell others to do good, and stop them from doing bad. Everything goes back to Allah in the end.
42. If they call you a liar, remember that Noah's people, Aad, and Thamud also called their messengers liars before.
43. And so did Abraham's people and Lot's people.
44. And the people of Midian. Moses was also called a liar. I gave those who didn't believe some time, then I punished them. How was My punishment?
45. How many towns did We destroy because they did wrong! Now they're empty, with fallen roofs, abandoned wells, and well-built palaces.
46. Haven't they traveled around the earth, so their hearts can understand and their ears can listen? It's not eyes that become blind, but it's the hearts inside people's chests that become blind.
47. They ask you to hurry up the punishment, but Allah never breaks His promise. One day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your counting.
48. Many towns did wrong, and I gave them extra time. Then I punished them, and everyone returns to Me.
49. Say, "People, I'm only here to clearly warn you."
50. Those who believe and do good things will have forgiveness and wonderful gifts.
51. But those who try hard to go against Our verses — they will be people of the Fire.
52. Whenever We sent a messenger or a prophet before you, Satan would try to put something into what he recited. But Allah removes what Satan tries to add, and then Allah makes His verses clear. Allah knows everything and is very wise.
53. Allah lets Satan's tricks test those whose hearts are sick and hard. Those who do wrong are far away from the truth.
54. And Allah lets those who have knowledge know that this is the truth from your Lord. They believe in it, and their hearts become calm and peaceful. Allah guides those who believe to a straight path.
55. Those who disbelieve will keep doubting until the Hour suddenly comes to them, or until the punishment of a terrible day comes.
56. On that day, all power belongs to Allah. He will judge between them. Those who believe and do good things will be in beautiful gardens of happiness.
57. But those who disbelieve and say Our verses aren't true — they will have a humiliating punishment.
58. Those who leave their homes for Allah's sake, and then are killed or die, Allah will give them good gifts. Allah is the best giver.
59. He will bring them into a place they'll love. Allah knows everything and is gentle and patient.
60. If someone responds with the same as what was done to them, and then is wronged again, Allah will surely help them. Allah forgives and pardons.
61. That's because Allah makes the night go into the day, and the day go into the night. Allah hears and sees everything.
62. That's because Allah is the Truth, and whatever they worship besides Him is false. Allah is the Highest, the Greatest.
63. Don't you see how Allah sends down water from the sky, and then the earth becomes green? Allah is kind and knows everything.
64. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. Allah needs nothing, and He deserves all praise.
65. Don't you see that Allah made everything on earth helpful for you? And ships sail on the sea by His command. He holds the sky up, so it doesn't fall down on the earth without His permission. Allah is very kind and caring to people.
66. He gave you life, then He will make you die, and then He will bring you back to life again. But humans are ungrateful.
67. For every group of people, We made special ways to worship, and they follow them. So don't let them argue with you about this. Just invite people to your Lord. You're following the right path.
68. If they argue with you, say, "Allah knows best what you're doing."
69. On the Day of Judgment, Allah will decide between you about the things you disagreed on.
70. Don't you know that Allah knows everything in the sky and on the earth? All of this is written down in a book. That's easy for Allah.
71. They worship things other than Allah, even though He never gave them permission, and they don't really know anything about them. Those who do wrong won't have anyone to help them.
72. When Our clear verses are read to them, you can see unhappy looks on the faces of those who don't believe. They almost want to hurt the people who read Our verses to them. Say, "Should I tell you something worse than that? It's the Fire. Allah promised it to those who don't believe. What a terrible place to end up!"
73. People, here's an example, so listen carefully: Those you pray to instead of Allah can't even create a tiny fly, even if they all worked together. And if a fly took something away from them, they couldn't get it back. How weak are both — the one who asks and the one who is asked!
74. They don't understand how great Allah really is. Allah is strong and mighty.
75. Allah chooses messengers from angels and from people. Allah hears everything and sees everything.
76. He knows what's in front of them and what's behind them. Everything returns to Allah.
77. You who believe, bow down, put your face on the ground, worship your Lord, and do good things, so you can be successful.
78. Do your best for Allah, as He deserves. He chose you, and He didn't make your religion hard for you. This is the way of your father Abraham. Allah named you Muslims before, and in this Book too, so the Messenger can be a witness for you, and you can be witnesses for other people. So pray regularly, give charity, and hold tightly to Allah. He is your Protector. He's the best Protector and the best Helper!
