In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.

1. People's time to be judged is coming closer, but they're not paying attention and turning away.

2. Whenever a new reminder comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it while playing around.

3. Their hearts are busy with other things. Those who do wrong secretly whisper to each other, "Isn't he just a human like you? Will you follow magic, even though you can clearly see?"

4. He said, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the sky and on earth. He hears everything and knows everything."

5. But they say, "These are just mixed-up dreams. No, he made it up. No, he's just a poet. Let him bring us a miracle, like the ones sent to people long ago."

6. None of the towns We destroyed before them believed. So will these people believe?

7. We only sent men before you, and We gave them messages. Ask the people who know, if you don't know.

8. We didn't make those messengers bodies that didn't need food, and they didn't live forever.

9. Then We kept Our promise to them. We saved them and those We wanted, and We destroyed those who went too far.

10. We've sent down to you a Book that talks about you. Won't you understand?

11. How many towns that did wrong have We completely destroyed? Then We created new people after them.

12. When they felt Our punishment coming, they started running away.

13. "Don't run away! Go back to your comfortable homes and nice things. Maybe you'll be asked questions."

14. They cried, "Oh no! We were wrong!"

15. They kept saying this until We made them silent and still, like plants cut down.

16. We didn't create the sky and the earth and everything between them just for fun.

17. If We wanted to play games, We could have done it by Ourselves, if We ever wanted to.

18. Instead, We throw the truth against lies, and the truth breaks them apart. Then the lies disappear. How terrible for you because of the things you say!

19. Everyone in the skies and on earth belongs to Him. Those who are close to Him aren't too proud to worship Him, and they never get tired.

20. They praise Him night and day, without ever stopping.

21. Or have they chosen gods from the earth who can bring things to life?

22. If there were other gods besides Allah in the heavens and the earth, both would become ruined. Glory to Allah, the Lord of the great throne — He is far above what they say about Him.

23. He isn't asked about what He does, but they will be asked.

24. Or have they chosen other gods besides Him? Say, "Show your proof. This is the message for those with me, and the message for those before me." But most of them don't know the truth, so they turn away.

25. We never sent any messenger before you without telling him, "There is no god except Me, so worship Me."

26. And they said, "The Most Merciful has a child." Glory to Him! They are only honored servants.

27. They never speak before He does, and they always do what He commands.

28. He knows everything in front of them and behind them. They only speak up for someone if He allows it, and they are careful because they respect Him.

29. If any of them says, "I'm a god besides Him," We will punish that one with Hellfire. That's how We punish those who do wrong.

30. Don't the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then We separated them? And We made every living thing from water. Won't they believe?

31. And We placed strong mountains on the earth, so it doesn't shake with them. And We made wide paths in it, so they can find their way.

32. And We made the sky a protected roof, but they still turn away from its signs.

33. He is the One Who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon. Each one floats along in its own path.

34. We didn't give any human before you a life that lasts forever. So if you die, will they live forever?

35. Every person will taste death. We test you with both good things and hard things, and then you'll come back to Us.

36. When those who don't believe see you, they make fun of you. They say, "Is this the one who mentions your gods?" But they themselves don't believe when the Most Merciful is mentioned.

37. People are always in a hurry. I'll show you My signs, so don't rush Me.

38. They say, "When will this promise come true, if you're telling the truth?"

39. If only those who don't believe knew about the time when they won't be able to keep the fire away from their faces or their backs. No one will help them.

40. Instead, it will come to them suddenly, surprising them. They won't be able to stop it, and they won't get another chance.

41. Messengers before you were laughed at too. But the very thing people laughed at came back to surround them.

42. Say, "Who protects you, night and day, from the Most Merciful?" But they turn away from remembering their Lord.

43. Do they have other gods who can protect them instead of Us? Those gods can't even help themselves, and they won't have anyone to support them against Us.

44. We let these people and their parents enjoy life for a long time. Don't they see how We come to the land, taking away parts of it from its edges? Do they think they'll win?

45. Say, "I'm only warning you with the message Allah gave me." But deaf people can't hear the call when they're warned.

46. Even if just a tiny bit of your Lord's punishment touches them, they'll cry out, "Oh no! We were wrong!"

47. On the Day of Judgment, We'll set up fair scales. No one will be treated unfairly at all. Even if something is as tiny as a mustard seed, We'll bring it out. And We're the best at keeping track of everything.

48. We gave Moses and Aaron the book that shows right from wrong, a shining light, and a reminder for those who are careful to obey Allah.

49. They respect their Lord even though they don't see Him, and they're worried about the Day of Judgment.

50. And this Quran is a blessed reminder that We sent down. will you deny it?

51. Long ago, We gave Abraham wisdom, and We knew him well.

52. He said to his father and his people, "What are these statues you're worshiping?"

53. They said, "We saw our fathers worshiping them."

54. Abraham said, "You and your fathers have been clearly wrong."

55. They asked, "Are you telling us the truth, or are you just playing around?"

56. Abraham said, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them from nothing, and I'm a witness to that."

57. "By Allah, I'll surely do something about your idols after you leave."

58. So he broke them into pieces, except the biggest one, so they might return to it.

59. They said, "Who did this to our gods? He is truly a wrongdoer!"

60. They said, "We heard a young man named Abraham talking about them."

61. They said, "Bring him in front of everyone, so they can see."

62. They asked, "Abraham, did you do this to our gods?"

63. He said, "No, this big one did it. Ask them, if they can talk."

64. They thought carefully and said to themselves, "We're the ones who are wrong."

65. But then they changed their minds and said, "You know these idols can't talk!"

66. Abraham said, "Then why do you worship things besides Allah that can't help you or hurt you at all?"

67. "Shame on you and what you worship besides Allah! Don't you understand?"

68. They shouted, "Burn him! Help your gods, if you're going to do something!"

69. We said, "O fire, be cool and safe for Abraham."

70. They wanted to harm him, but We made them the biggest losers.

71. We saved Abraham and Lot, and We brought them safely to the land which We blessed for all people.

72. And We gave Abraham Isaac, and Jacob as an extra gift, and We made all of them good people.

73. We made them leaders who guided others by Our command. We told them to do good deeds, pray regularly, and give charity, and they worshiped Us.

74. And Lot — We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and We saved him from the town where people did wicked things. They were truly wicked people.

75. We brought Lot into Our mercy. He was one of the good people.

76. And remember Noah, when he called out to Us long ago. We answered him and saved him and his family from a terrible trouble.

77. We helped him against the people who said Our verses weren't true. They were very bad people, so We drowned them, all together.

78. And remember David and Solomon, when they judged about a field where some people's sheep wandered in and ate the crops. We were watching their judgment.

79. We helped Solomon understand it clearly. We gave both of them wisdom and knowledge. And We made the mountains and birds sing praises with David. We did all these things.

80. We taught David how to make armor to protect you in your battles. So, will you be thankful?

81. And We gave Solomon the strong wind. It blew by his command to the land We blessed. We know everything.

82. And some of the devils dived into the sea for him, and they did other jobs too. We watched over them carefully.

83. And remember Job, when he called to his Lord, "I've been hurt by pain, and You are the most Kind and Caring."

84. So We answered him and took away his pain. We gave him back his family and even more, as a kindness from Us, and a lesson for those who worship.

85. And remember Ishmael, Idris, and Dhul-Kifl. They were all patient.

86. We brought them into Our kindness, because they were good people.

87. And remember the man of the whale, when he left angrily, thinking We would not have power over him. Then he called out in the darkness, "There is no god except You. Glory to You! I was wrong."

88. So We answered him and saved him from sadness. That's how We save those who believe.

89. And remember Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, don't leave me alone without a child. You are the best of inheritors."

90. So We answered him and gave him John, and We made his wife healthy again. They hurried to do good things, prayed to Us with hope and fear, and were humble before Us.

91. And remember the woman who protected herself. We breathed into her from Our spirit, and We made her and her son a miracle for all people.

92. This is your community — one community — and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

93. But people divided themselves into different groups. All of them will come back to Us.

94. Whoever does good things and believes, their effort won't be forgotten. We write down everything they do.

95. It's forbidden for any town We destroyed to return.

96. Until Gog and Magog are let loose, and they rush down quickly from every hill.

97. And the true promise comes closer. Then the disbelievers will stare in shock and say, "Oh no! We didn't pay attention to this. We were wrong."

98. You and the things you worship besides Allah will be fuel for Hellfire. You will all enter it.

99. If those things had really been gods, they wouldn't enter it. But everyone there will stay forever.

100. They will cry loudly there, and they won't hear.

101. But those who already received Our promise of goodness will be kept far away from it.

102. They won't hear even the smallest sound from it. They will stay forever in everything their hearts wish for.

103. The great fear won't make them sad. Angels will welcome them, saying, "This is your special day that you were promised."

104. On that Day, We'll roll up the sky, just like rolling up a scroll with writing on it. We'll bring everything back, just as We created it the first time. That's a promise from Us, and We'll surely do it.

105. We wrote clearly in the Psalms, after the Reminder, that My good servants will inherit the earth.

106. In this, there's a clear message for people who worship Allah.

107. We sent you only as a mercy for everyone and everything.

108. Say, "It has been revealed to me that your God is one God. So, will you submit to Him?"

109. But if they turn away, say, "I've told you all equally. I don't know if what you're promised is near or far away."

110. He knows what you say out loud, and He knows what you hide inside.

111. And I don't know — maybe it's a test for you, and you'll enjoy things for a while.

112. He said, "My Lord, judge with truth. Our Lord is the Most Kind, and we ask Him for help against what you say."
