In the name of Allah, the Most Kind, the Most Caring.
1. Ta. Ha.
2. We didn't send down the Quran to make things hard for you.
3. It's just a reminder for those who respect Allah.
4. It was sent down by the One Who created the earth and the high skies.
5. The Most Kind, Who rose above the throne.
6. Everything in the skies, everything on the earth, everything between them, and everything under the ground belongs to Him.
7. Even if you speak loudly, He knows secrets and what's even more hidden.
8. Allah — there is no god except Him. He has the most beautiful names.
9. Has the story of Moses reached you?
10. When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I see a fire. Maybe I can bring you a burning stick or find someone there to show us the way."
11. When he came close to the fire, a voice called out, "Moses!
12. I am your Lord. Take off your shoes. You're in the sacred valley of Tuwa.
13. I've chosen you, so listen carefully to what I'm telling you.
14. I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and pray to remember Me.
15. The Day of Judgment is coming. I'm keeping its time hidden, so everyone will be rewarded for what they do.
16. Don't let anyone who doesn't believe in it and follows their own wishes stop you from believing, or you'll be lost."
17. "What's that in your right hand, Moses?"
18. He said, "It's my stick. I lean on it, I use it to shake leaves down for my sheep, and I use it for other things too."
19. Allah said, "Throw it down, Moses."
20. So he threw it down, and suddenly it became a snake, moving quickly.
21. Allah said, "Pick it up, and don't be afraid. We'll turn it back into a stick again.
22. Now put your hand under your arm. It will come out shining white, without any harm — another miracle.
23. We're showing you some of Our greatest miracles.
24. Go to Pharaoh. He has become very bad."
25. Moses said, "My Lord, make me feel calm and confident.
26. And make my task easy for me.
27. Untie the knot from my tongue.
28. So they can understand my words.
29. And give me a helper from my family.
30. My brother Aaron.
31. Make me strong through him.
32. And let him share my task.
33. So we can praise You often.
34. And remember You often.
35. You are always watching over us."
36. Allah said, "You've been given what you asked for, O Moses.
37. And I've helped you before, too.
38. Remember when I inspired your mother with a special message.
39. 'Put him in a basket, then put the basket in the river. The river will carry him to the shore, and an enemy of Mine and his will pick him up.' And I put love on you, and I took care of you Myself.
40. Remember when your sister followed you and said, 'Should I show you someone who can take care of him?' So We brought you back to your mother, so she would be happy and not feel sad. And you killed someone, but We saved you from distress. Then We tested you many times. You stayed for years with the people of Midian, then you came here at just the right time, Moses.
41. And I prepared you for Myself.
42. Now go, you and your brother, with My signs, and never stop remembering Me.
43. Go to Pharaoh, because he has become very unfair.
44. Speak to him gently, so he might remember or become afraid."
45. Moses and Aaron said, "Our Lord, we're afraid he might be too harsh with us or go too far."
46. Allah said, "Don't be afraid. I'm with you both — I hear and see everything.
47. Go to him and say, 'We are messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and don't hurt them. We've brought you a sign from your Lord. Peace will be with whoever follows the guidance.
48. Allah told us that anyone who doesn't believe us and turns away will be punished.'"
49. Pharaoh asked, "Who is your Lord, Moses?"
50. Moses answered, "Our Lord is the One Who gave everything its shape, then guided it."
51. Pharaoh asked, "Then what about the people who lived long ago?"
52. Moses said, "My Lord knows everything about them. It's all written in a book. My Lord never makes mistakes and never forgets.
53. He made the earth comfortable and spread out for you, and made paths for you in it. He sends down rain from the sky, and with it We grow many different kinds of plants.
54. Eat, and let your animals eat too. These are clear signs for people who think carefully."
55. From the earth We created you, into it We will return you, and from it We will bring you out again.
56. We showed Pharaoh all Our signs, but he called them lies and refused to believe.
57. He said, "Moses, did you come to drive us out of our land with your magic?"
58. "We will bring magic just like yours. Let's choose a time and place where neither of us will miss it."
59. Moses said, "The contest will be on the festival day, when all the people gather in the morning."
60. Pharaoh went away, gathered his helpers and planned his tricks, and then came back.
61. Moses said to them, "Be careful! Don't make up lies about Allah, or He might destroy you with a punishment. Anyone who lies about Allah will fail."
62. They argued quietly among themselves, whispering secretly.
63. They said, "These two men are magicians. They want to drive you out of your land with their magic, and take away your best way of life."
64. "So gather all your tricks, then come together in a line. Today, whoever is stronger will win."
65. They said, "Moses, will you throw first, or should we?"
66. Moses said, "You throw first." Suddenly, their ropes and sticks seemed to move because of their magic.
67. Moses felt scared inside.
68. We said, "Don't be afraid! You will win."
69. "Throw what's in your right hand. It will swallow up what they made. What they made is just a magician's trick, and magicians never succeed."
70. Then the magicians bowed down to the ground and said, "We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses."
71. Pharaoh said, "How dare you believe in Him before I let you? He must be your leader who taught you magic! I'll cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and crucify you on the trunks of palm trees. Then you'll see whose punishment is worse and lasts longer!"
72. They said, "We won't choose you over the clear signs that came to us, or over the One Who created us. Do whatever you want — you can only decide things in this life."
73. "We believe in our Lord, so He will forgive our mistakes and the magic you made us do. Allah is better, and He lasts forever."
74. Anyone who comes to his Lord as a criminal will be in Hell. There, he won't die or live.
75. But anyone who comes to Him believing and have done good deeds will have the highest places.
76. Beautiful gardens, with rivers flowing beneath them, where they'll stay forever. That's the reward for those who purified themselves.
77. We told Moses, "Take My people and leave quietly at night. Make a dry path for them through the sea. Don't be afraid of being caught, and don't worry."
78. Then Pharaoh followed them with his soldiers, but the sea covered them completely.
79. Pharaoh led his people the wrong way, and he didn't guide them at all.
80. "Children of Israel, We saved you from your enemy. We promised to meet you on the right side of the mountain, and We sent down sweet food and tasty birds for you.
81. Eat the good things We gave you, but don't go too far, or My anger will come down on you. Whoever My anger comes down on will surely fall."
82. But I forgive anyone who is sorry, believes, does good things, and follows the right way.
83. Allah asked, "Moses, why did you hurry ahead of your people?"
84. Moses said, "They're coming right behind me. I hurried to You, my Lord, so You would be pleased."
85. Allah said, "But after you left, We tested your people, and the Samiri led them the wrong way."
86. Moses went back to his people, angry and sad. He said, "My people, didn't your Lord promise you something wonderful? Did the promise take too long for you? Or did you want your Lord's anger to come down on you, so you broke your promise to me?"
87. They said, "We didn't break our promise to you on purpose. But we were carrying heavy loads of jewelry from Pharaoh's people, so we threw them down. And that's what the Samiri did too."
88. Then he made a calf statue for them — a body that made a mooing sound. They said, "This is your god, and the god of Moses." But he forgot.
89. Didn't they see that it couldn't answer them, or help them, or hurt them?
90. Aaron had already told them, "My people, you're being tested by this. Your Lord is the Most Kind. Follow me and obey what I say."
91. But they said, "We won't stop worshiping it until Moses comes back to us."
92. Moses asked, "Aaron, when you saw them going the wrong way, what stopped you?
93. From following me? Did you disobey what I told you?"
94. Aaron said, "Son of my mother, please don't grab my beard or my head. I was afraid you'd say, 'You divided the Children of Israel and didn't listen to me.'"
95. Moses asked, "Samiri, what did you do?"
96. He said, "I saw something they didn't see. I took a handful of dust from the messenger's footprints, and I threw it. That's what my heart told me to do."
97. Moses said, "Then go away. For the rest of your life, you'll say, 'Don't touch me.' And there's a time waiting for you that you can't escape. Now look at your 'god' that you kept worshiping. We'll burn it, then scatter its ashes into the sea."
98. Your only God is Allah. There's no god except Him. He knows everything.
99. This is how We tell you stories of what happened before. And We gave you a special reminder from Us.
100. Whoever turns away from it will carry a heavy load on the Day of Judgment.
101. They will stay with it forever. What a terrible load they'll have on the Day of Judgment!
102. On that day, the trumpet will be blown, and We will gather the criminals. Their faces will be blue.
103. They'll whisper quietly to each other, "We stayed only ten days."
104. We know best what they'll say. The wisest one among them will say, "You stayed only one day."
105. They ask you about the mountains. Say, "My Lord will break them into tiny pieces."
106. He'll leave the earth flat and smooth.
107. You won't see any bumps or curves on it.
108. On that day, everyone will follow the caller without turning away. Voices will become quiet in front of the Most Merciful, and you'll hear only whispers.
109. On that day, no one can speak up for others, except those the Most Merciful allows and whose words He likes.
110. He knows everything that's in front of them and behind them, but they can't fully understand Him.
111. All faces will bow down humbly before the Living, the One Who takes care of everything. Whoever carries wrongdoing will lose.
112. But whoever does good things and believes won't be afraid of being treated unfairly or losing any reward.
113. This is how We sent it down as an Arabic Quran, and We explained the warnings in it clearly, so people might do what's right or remember Allah.
114. Allah is the Highest, the True King. Don't rush to recite the Quran before its words are fully given to you. And say, "My Lord, give me more knowledge."
115. We made a promise with Adam before, but he forgot, and We didn't find him strong enough to keep it.
116. When We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam," they all bowed down, except Iblis — he refused.
117. Then We said, "Adam, this one is an enemy to you and your wife. Don't let him make you both leave Paradise, or you'll have a hard life.
118. In Paradise, you'll never feel hungry or have no clothes.
119. You'll never feel thirsty or get too hot from the sun."
120. But Satan whispered to Adam, saying, "Adam, should I show you the tree that lets you live forever and gives you a kingdom that never ends?"
121. So they both ate from the tree, and suddenly, they saw that their bodies had no clothes. They quickly started covering themselves with leaves from Paradise. Adam disobeyed his Lord and lost his way.
122. Then his Lord chose him, forgave him, and guided him again.
123. Allah said, "Both of you go down from Paradise together. Some of you will be enemies to others. But when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance won't get lost or become unhappy.
124. But whoever turns away from remembering Me will have a hard, unhappy life, and on the Day of Judgment, We'll bring him back to life blind."
125. He'll say, "My Lord, why did You bring me back blind, when before I could see?"
126. Allah will say, "Because My signs came to you, but you forgot them. Today, you're forgotten too."
127. This is how We repay those who do wrong and don't believe in their Lord's verses. The punishment in the Hereafter is harder and lasts longer.
128. Didn't they see how many people We destroyed before them? They walk through the homes of those people. In this, there are clear lessons for people who think carefully.
129. If your Lord had not already made a promise, they would have been punished right away. But there is a set time for everything.
130. So be patient with what they say, and praise your Lord before the sun rises and before it sets. And praise Him during parts of the night, and at the ends of the day, so you'll be pleased.
131. Don't look longingly at the nice things We gave some people to enjoy in this life — it's just a test for them. What your Lord gives you is better and lasts longer.
132. Tell your family to pray, and keep doing it patiently. We don't ask you to provide — we provide for you. And the best ending is for those who obey Allah.
133. They say, "Why doesn't he bring us a miracle from his Lord?" Didn't clear proofs already come to them in the earlier books?
134. If We had destroyed them with punishment before this, they would have said, "Our Lord, why didn't You send us a messenger? Then we could have followed Your verses before we became ashamed and embarrassed."
135. Say, "Everyone is waiting, so wait. Soon you'll know who follows the right path and who's guided."
