In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. He frowned and turned away.

2. Because the blind man came to him.

3. And what would make you know? Perhaps he would purify himself.

4. Or be reminded, and the reminder would benefit him.

5. As for the one who considers himself self-sufficient.

6. To him you give attention.

7. Though it is not upon you if he does not purify himself.

8. But as for the one who came to you striving earnestly.

9. While he fears.

10. From him you are distracted.

11. No; indeed, it is a reminder.

12. So whoever wills may remember it.

13. In honored pages.

14. Exalted, purified.

15. In the hands of scribes.

16. Noble, righteous.

17. Destroyed is the human being — how ungrateful he is!

18. From what thing did He create him?

19. From a drop He created him, then proportioned him.

20. Then He eased the way for him.

21. Then He causes him to die and places him in the grave.

22. Then, when He wills, He will resurrect him.

23. No; he has not yet fulfilled what He commanded him.

24. Then let the human being look at his food.

25. How We poured down water abundantly.

26. Then We split the earth open thoroughly.

27. And caused grain to grow therein.

28. And grapes and fresh vegetation.

29. And olives and date-palms.

30. And dense gardens.

31. And fruit and pasture.

32. As provision for you and your livestock.

33. Then when the Deafening Blast comes.

34. On the Day a man will flee from his brother.

35. And his mother and his father.

36. And his wife and his children.

37. For every person among them, on that Day, will be a matter occupying him.

38. Faces on that Day will be radiant.

39. Laughing, rejoicing.

40. And faces on that Day will have dust upon them.

41. Darkness will cover them.

42. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
