In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. Has there come upon the human being a period of time when he was not a thing mentioned?
2. Truly, We created the human being from a mixed drop, testing him; and We made him hearing and seeing.
3. Surely, We guided him to the way — either grateful or ungrateful.
4. Certainly, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, shackles, and a blazing fire.
5. Certainly, the righteous will drink from a cup whose mixture is camphor.
6. A spring from which the servants of Allah drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly.
7. They fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose evil is widespread.
8. And they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.
9. "We feed you only for the Face of Allah; we desire from you neither reward nor gratitude.
10. Truly, we fear from our Lord a Day grim and distressful."
11. So Allah protected them from the evil of that Day, and He granted them radiance and joy.
12. And He rewarded them, for being patient, with Paradise and silk.
13. Reclining therein upon couches; they will see therein neither sun nor bitter cold.
14. And near above them are its shades, and its fruits made easy to reach.
15. And circulated among them are vessels of silver and cups that are crystal-clear.
16. Crystal-clear, made of silver, precisely measured.
17. And therein they are given to drink a cup whose mixture is ginger.
18. A spring therein named Salsabeel.
19. And circulating among them are immortal youths; when you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.
20. And when you look there, you will see bliss and a great dominion.
21. Upon them are garments of fine green silk and rich brocade; and they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord gives them to drink a pure beverage.
22. Truly, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated.
23. Surely, it is We Who have sent down to you the Quran as a revelation.
24. So be patient for the judgment of your Lord, and do not obey among them any sinner or disbeliever.
25. And remember the name of your Lord morning and evening.
26. And during the night, prostrate to Him, and glorify Him throughout the long night.
27. Certainly, these love the immediate life, and they leave behind them a heavy Day.
28. It is We Who created them and strengthened their forms; and if We willed, We could replace them entirely with others like them.
29. Truly, this is a reminder; so whoever wills, let him take a way to his Lord.
30. And you do not will except that Allah wills; surely, Allah is Knowing, Wise.
31. He admits whom He wills into His mercy; and as for the wrongdoers, He has prepared for them a painful punishment.
