In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. O you who are wrapped up.
2. Arise and warn.
3. And your Lord glorify.
4. And your garments purify.
5. And impurity shun.
6. And do not confer favor to acquire more.
7. And for your Lord be patient.
8. Then, when the trumpet is sounded.
9. That Day will be a difficult day.
10. For the disbelievers, not easy.
11. Leave Me with the one whom I created alone.
12. And to whom I granted extensive wealth.
13. And children present.
14. And I smoothed the way for him.
15. Yet he desires that I should give more.
16. No; indeed, he has been stubborn toward Our verses.
17. I will burden him with a steep ascent.
18. Indeed, he thought and deliberated.
19. So may he perish; how he deliberated!
20. Then may he perish; how he deliberated!
21. Then he looked.
22. Then he frowned and scowled.
23. Then he turned away and was arrogant.
24. And said, "This is nothing but magic handed down.
25. This is nothing but the word of a human being."
26. I will cast him into Saqar.
27. And what will make you know what Saqar is?
28. It neither spares nor leaves.
29. Scorching for humans.
30. Over it are nineteen.
31. And We have appointed none but angels as keepers of the Fire; and We have made their number only as a trial for those who disbelieve — so that those who were given the Scripture may be certain, and those who believe may grow in faith, and that neither those given the Scripture nor the believers may fall into doubt; and so that those in whose hearts is disease, as well as the disbelievers, may say, ‘What does Allah mean by this parable?’ Thus does Allah let astray whom He wills, and guide whom He wills; and none knows the hosts of your Lord except Him. And it is nothing but a reminder to humankind.
32. No; by the moon.
33. And by the night when it departs.
34. And by the morning when it brightens.
35. Surely, it is one of the greatest.
36. A warning to the human beings.
37. To whoever among you wills to advance or remain behind.
38. Every soul, for what it has earned, is held in pledge.
39. Except the companions of the right.
40. In Gardens, questioning one another.
41. About the criminals.
42. "What has brought you into Saqar?"
43. They will say, "We were not among those who prayed.
44. Nor did we feed the needy.
45. And we used to indulge with those who indulged.
46. And we used to deny the Day of Judgment.
47. Until certainty came to us."
48. So the intercession of intercessors will not benefit them.
49. Then what is with them that they turn away from the reminder?
50. As if they were startled donkeys.
51. Fleeing from a lion.
52. Rather, every one of them desires that he be given open scrolls.
53. No; rather, they do not fear the Hereafter.
54. No; indeed, it is a reminder.
55. So whoever wills may remember it.
56. And they will not remember except that Allah wills; He is the source of reverence and the source of forgiveness.
