In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. Alif. Lam. Meem. Saad.
2. A Book sent down to you — so let there be no distress in your heart because of it — that you may warn by means of it, and as a reminder for the believers.
3. Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any allies besides Him; little do you remember.
4. And how many a town have We destroyed; Our punishment came upon it by night or while they were resting at midday.
5. Then their declaration, when Our punishment came upon them, was only that they said, "Truly, we were wrongdoers."
6. Then We shall surely question those to whom messengers were sent, and We shall surely question the messengers.
7. Then We shall surely recount to them with knowledge; and never were We absent.
8. And the weighing on that Day will be true; so those whose scales are heavy — it is they who will be successful.
9. And those whose scales are light — it is they who have lost themselves, because they used to wrong Our verses.
10. And certainly We have established you on earth and made for you therein means of livelihood; little are you grateful.
11. Certainly, We created you, then shaped you, then said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except Iblis — he was not among those who prostrated.
12. He said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" He said, "I am better than him; You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."
13. He said, "Then descend from it; it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So depart; surely, you are among the disgraced."
14. He said, "Grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected."
15. He said, "Surely, you are among those granted respite."
16. He said, "Because You have led me astray, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.
17. Then I will come upon them from before them and from behind them, and from their right and from their left; and You will not find most of them grateful."
18. He said, "Depart from it, disgraced and expelled. Whoever among them follows you — I will surely fill Hellfire with you all."
19. "And O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise, and eat from wherever you wish; but do not approach this tree, lest you both become among the wrongdoers."
20. Then Satan whispered to them, to reveal to them what was hidden from them of their nakedness, and said, "Your Lord did not forbid you from this tree except that you become angels or become among the immortals."
21. And he swore to them, "Truly, I am among sincere advisers to you."
22. Thus he deceived them by delusion; and when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness became apparent to them, and they began to cover themselves with leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and say to you, 'Indeed, Satan is to you a clear enemy'?"
23. They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves; and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
24. He said, "Descend, as enemies to one another; and for you on earth is a dwelling place and provision for a time."
25. He said, "In it you will live, and in it you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."
26. O Children of Adam, We have sent down to you clothing to cover your nakedness, and as adornment. And the clothing of piety — that is best. That is among the signs of Allah, so that they may remember.
27. O Children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you, just as he expelled your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their nakedness. Surely he sees you — he and his tribe — from where you do not see them. Surely We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.
28. And when they commit an indecency, they say, "We found our fathers upon it, and Allah commanded us to it." Say, "Allah does not command indecency. Do you say about Allah what you do not know?"
29. Say, "My Lord has commanded justice. And direct your faces at every place of worship, and call upon Him, devoting religion sincerely to Him. As He originated you, so shall you return."
30. A group He guided, and a group, misguidance was justified against them. Surely they took devils as allies instead of Allah, yet they think that they are guided.
31. O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but do not be excessive. Surely He does not love the excessive.
32. Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah, which He has brought forth for His servants, and the good things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the life of this world, for them exclusively on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.
33. Say, "My Lord has only forbidden indecencies — what is apparent of them and what is concealed — and sin, and unjust aggression, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah what you do not know."
34. And for every community is an appointed term; when their term comes, they will neither delay it by an hour nor advance it.
35. O Children of Adam, if messengers come to you from among yourselves, relating to you My verses, then whoever is reverent and reforms — no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve.
36. But those who deny Our verses and arrogantly reject them — those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
37. Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or denies His verses? Those will receive their portion decreed in the Book; until, when Our messengers come to take them in death, they will say, "Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us," and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
38. He will say, "Enter among nations of jinn and humans who passed away before you into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it curses its sister nation; until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them, "Our Lord, these misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire." He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."
39. And the first of them will say to the last of them, "You had no advantage over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."
40. Truly, those who denied Our verses and were arrogant toward them — the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until the camel passes through the eye of the needle; thus do We recompense the criminals.
41. For them is a bed from Hell, and over them coverings; thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
42. And those who believe and do righteous deeds — We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity — those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.
43. And We will remove whatever rancor is in their breasts; rivers flow beneath them, and they will say, "Praise be to Allah, Who has guided us to this; we would never have been guided had Allah not guided us. Certainly, the messengers of our Lord came with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you were made to inherit for what you used to do."
44. And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have found what our Lord promised us to be true; have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will proclaim among them, "The curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers,".
45. Those who hinder from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter.
46. And between them is a partition; and upon the heights are men who recognize each by their marks. They will call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not yet entered it, though they long to.
47. And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they will say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."
48. And the companions of the heights will call out to men whom they recognize by their marks, saying, "Your gathering and your arrogance have not availed you."
49. "Are these the ones about whom you swore that Allah would never grant them mercy? Enter Paradise; no fear shall be upon you, nor shall you grieve."
50. And the companions of the Fire will call out to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or something of what Allah has provided you." They will say, "Allah has forbidden them both to the disbelievers.
51. Those who took their religion as amusement and play, and whom the worldly life deceived." So today We forget them, just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs, and as they used to deny Our verses.
52. And certainly We brought them a Book, which We detailed with knowledge — as guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
53. Do they await anything but its fulfillment? The Day its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had certainly come with the truth; so will we have any intercessors who will intercede for us, or could we be returned so that we might do other than what we used to do?" They have indeed lost themselves, and what they used to invent has deserted them.
54. Indeed, your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Throne. He covers the night with the day, pursuing it swiftly; and the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Unquestionably, to Him belong creation and command. Blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
55. Call upon your Lord humbly and privately; indeed, He does not love the transgressors.
56. And do not cause corruption on earth after its reformation, and call upon Him with fear and hope; indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to those who do good.
57. And it is He Who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy, until, when they carry heavy clouds, We drive them to a dead land, then We send down water by means of it, and bring forth thereby all kinds of fruits. Thus do We bring forth the dead, so that you may remember.
58. And the good land — its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad does not emerge except with difficulty. Thus do We diversify the signs for a people who give thanks.
59. Certainly, We sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no god other than Him. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day."
60. The leaders among his people said, "Truly, we see you in clear error."
61. He said, "O my people, there is no error in me; rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."
62. "I convey to you the messages of my Lord, advise you sincerely, and I know from Allah what you do not know."
63. "Do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord, through a man from among yourselves, to warn you, that you may become mindful of Allah, and that you may receive mercy?"
64. But they denied him; so We saved him and those with him in the ark, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Truly, they were a blind people.
65. And to Aad, their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no god other than Him. Will you not then become mindful of Him?"
66. The leaders among his people who disbelieved said, "Truly, we see you in foolishness, and we surely think you are among the liars."
67. He said, "O my people, there is no foolishness in me; rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."
68. "I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser."
69. "Do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, to warn you? Remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah, and increased you greatly in physical stature. So remember the favors of Allah, that you may succeed."
70. They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and abandon what our fathers used to worship? Then bring upon us what you promise, if you are among the truthful."
71. He said, "Certainly, defilement and wrath from your Lord have already befallen you. Do you dispute with me concerning mere names that you and your fathers have named, for which Allah has sent down no authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."
72. So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We cut off the last remnant of those who denied Our signs; and they were not believers.
73. And to Thamud, their brother Salih; he said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord: this is Allah's she-camel, a sign for you; so leave her to graze on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with harm, lest a painful punishment seize you."
74. And remember when He made you successors after Aad, and settled you on earth — you take from its plains palaces, and carve from the mountains houses; so remember Allah's favors, and do not act wickedly on earth as corruptors."
75. The eminent ones who were arrogant among his people said to those who were oppressed — to those among them who believed — "Do you know that Salih is sent from his Lord?" They said, "We are believers in that with which he was sent."
76. Those who were arrogant said, "We are disbelievers in that which you believe."
77. So they hamstrung the she-camel, and insolently defied the command of their Lord, and said, "O Salih, bring upon us what you promise us, if you are among the messengers."
78. So the earthquake seized them, and they became lifeless bodies fallen prone in their homes.
79. Then he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I have certainly conveyed to you the message of my Lord, and advised you sincerely; but you do not like sincere advisers."
80. And Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit an indecency that no one among the worlds has preceded you in?
81. You indeed approach men with desire instead of women; rather, you are a transgressing people."
82. But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Expel them from your town; indeed, they are people who purify themselves."
83. So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was among those who remained behind.
84. And We rained upon them a rain; so see how was the end of the criminals.
85. And to Midian, their brother Shuayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord; so give full measure and weight, and do not diminish for people their things, and do not spread corruption on earth after its reform. That is better for you, if you are believers."
86. "And do not sit on every path, threatening and hindering from the way of Allah those who believe in Him, seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were few, and He multiplied you; and see how was the end of the corruptors."
87. "And if a group among you has believed in that with which I was sent, and a group has not believed, then be patient until Allah judges between us; and He is the best of judges."
88. The eminent ones who were arrogant among his people said, "We will surely expel you, O Shuayb, and those who have believed with you from our town, or you must return to our religion." He said, "Even if we were unwilling?"
89. "We would have fabricated a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah has saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it unless Allah, our Lord, wills. Our Lord encompasses all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of deciders."
90. And the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people said, "If you follow Shuayb, you will surely then be losers."
91. So the earthquake seized them, and they became fallen in their homes.
92. Those who denied Shuayb — as if they had never prospered therein. Those who denied Shuayb — it was they who were the losers.
93. So he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I have certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you; so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?"
94. And We did not send into any town a prophet except that We seized its people with hardship and adversity, that they might humble themselves.
95. Then We replaced the evil with good, until they increased and said, "Hardship and ease touched our fathers." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive.
96. And if only the people of the towns had believed and been mindful of Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied, so We seized them for what they used to earn.
97. Did the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment would not come upon them by night while they were sleeping?
98. Or did the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment would not come upon them in the morning while they were playing?
99. Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But none feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people.
100. Is it not guidance for those who inherit the earth after its people that, if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins, and set a seal upon their hearts so they do not hear?
101. Those towns — We relate to you some of their stories; certainly, their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had previously denied. Thus does Allah seal the hearts of the disbelievers.
102. And We found no covenant in most of them; rather, We found most of them defiantly disobedient.
103. Then, after them, We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they did wrong regarding them; so see how was the end of the corruptors.
104. And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.
105. It is incumbent upon me to say nothing about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel."
106. He said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you are among the truthful."
107. So he threw down his staff, and suddenly it was a manifest serpent.
108. And he drew out his hand, and suddenly it was white to the onlookers.
109. The chiefs among Pharaoh's people said, "Certainly, this is an expert magician.
110. He intends to expel you from your land, so what do you command?"
111. They said, "Delay him and his brother, and send gatherers into the cities.
112. They will bring you every learned magician."
113. And the magicians came to Pharaoh; they said, "Surely, we will have a reward if we are the victors?"
114. He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will be among those brought near."
115. They said, "O Moses, either you throw, or we will be the ones to throw."
116. He said, "Throw." And when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and terrified them, and they brought forth a great magic.
117. And We inspired Moses, "Cast your staff"; and behold, it swallowed up what they were forging.
118. So the truth prevailed, and what they had been doing became void.
119. So they were defeated there and returned humiliated.
120. And the magicians fell down prostrate.
121. They said, "We believe in the Lord of the worlds.
122. The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
123. Pharaoh said, "You have believed in Him before I gave you permission; surely this is a plot you have devised in the city to expel its people from it. Soon you will know.
124. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all."
125. They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
126. And you do not resent us except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims."
127. And the chiefs among Pharaoh's people said, "Will you leave Moses and his people to spread corruption on earth and abandon you and your gods?" He said, "We will kill their sons and spare their women; and indeed, we have absolute power over them."
128. Moses said to his people, "Seek help through Allah and be patient; indeed, the earth belongs to Allah — He grants it as inheritance to whom He wills among His servants; and the final outcome is for those mindful of Allah."
129. They said, "We were harmed before you came to us, and after you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on earth; then He will see how you act."
130. And certainly We seized Pharaoh's people with years of famine and shortage of fruits, that they might take heed.
131. But whenever good came to them, they said, "This is ours." And if evil afflicted them, they attributed ill omen to Moses and those with him. Surely, their ill omen is only with Allah, but most of them do not know.
132. And they said, "Whatever sign you bring to enchant us with, we will not believe in you."
133. So We sent upon them the flood, and the locusts, and the lice, and the frogs, and the blood — distinct signs; yet they acted arrogantly, and they were a criminal people.
134. And when the plague descended upon them, they said, "O Moses, call upon your Lord for us by the covenant He has with you; if you remove the plague from us, we will surely believe in you, and we will surely send the Children of Israel with you."
135. But when We removed the plague from them, until a term they were to reach, behold, they broke their promise.
136. So We took vengeance upon them and drowned them in the sea, because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.
137. And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern and western parts of the land, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because they were patient; and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built and the trellises they had erected.
138. And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Surely, you are a people behaving ignorantly.
139. Indeed, these people — what they are engaged in is doomed to destruction, and worthless is what they have been doing."
140. He said, "Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah, when He has favored you above all peoples?"
141. And when We saved you from Pharaoh's people, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your sons and sparing your women; and in that was a great trial from your Lord.
142. And We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and completed them with ten; thus the appointed term of his Lord was fulfilled as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, act rightly, and do not follow the way of the corruptors."
143. And when Moses came to Our appointed meeting, and his Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord, show me Yourself, that I may look upon You." He said, "You will not see Me; but look at the mountain — if it remains firm in its place, then you will see Me." But when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He made it crumble to dust, and Moses fell down unconscious. Then when he recovered, he said, "Glory be to You; I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers."
144. He said, "O Moses, I have chosen you above the people with My messages and My speech; so take what I have given you, and be among the grateful."
145. And We wrote for him upon the tablets an admonition for everything, and a detailed explanation of everything; so hold them firmly, and command your people to take the best of them. I will show you the abode of the defiantly disobedient.
146. I will turn away from My signs those who behave arrogantly on earth without right; and if they see every sign, they will not believe in it; and if they see the way of guidance, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.
147. And those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter — their deeds have become worthless. Are they recompensed except for what they used to do?
148. And the people of Moses took, after him, from their ornaments, a calf — a body having a lowing sound. Did they not see that it neither spoke to them nor guided them to any way? They took it, and they were wrongdoers.
149. And when regret overcame them and they saw that they had gone astray, they said, "If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers."
150. And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, "How wretched is what you have done in my absence! Did you hasten the command of your Lord?" And he cast down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, pulling him toward himself. He said, "Son of my mother, indeed the people oppressed me and were about to kill me; so do not let the enemies rejoice over me, and do not place me among the wrongdoing people."
151. He said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your mercy; and You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy."
152. Indeed, those who took the calf — wrath from their Lord will reach them, and also humiliation in the life of this world; and thus do We recompense those who invent falsehood.
153. But those who committed evil deeds, then repented after that and believed — indeed, your Lord thereafter is surely Forgiving, Merciful.
154. And when the anger subsided from Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord.
155. And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointed time; and when the earthquake seized them, he said, "My Lord, if You had willed, You could have destroyed them before, and me as well. Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? It is but Your trial, by which You let go astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers.
156. And decree for us good in this world and in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned to You." He said, "My punishment — I afflict with it whom I will; but My mercy encompasses all things. So I will decree it for those who are mindful of Allah and give charity, and those who believe in Our verses."
157. Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel; he commands them to what is right and forbids them from what is wrong, makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the impure things, and relieves them of their burden and the shackles that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honor him, support him, and follow the light which was sent down with him — it is they who are the successful.
158. Say, "O people, I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; there is no god except Him; He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him, that you may be guided."
159. And among the people of Moses is a community who guide by the truth, and by it they establish justice.
160. And We divided them into twelve tribes, as distinct communities. And We inspired Moses, when his people asked him for water, "Strike the rock with your staff." Then twelve springs gushed forth from it; each people knew their drinking place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails: "Eat from the good things We have provided you." And they did not wrong Us, but they were wronging themselves.
161. And when it was said to them, "Dwell in this town and eat from it wherever you wish, and say, 'relief,' and enter the gate bowing humbly; We will forgive you your sins; We will increase those who do good."
162. But those among them who did wrong changed the words to other than what had been said to them; so We sent upon them a punishment from the sky because they were doing wrong.
163. And ask them about the town that was by the sea, when they transgressed regarding the Sabbath — when their fish came to them openly on their Sabbath day, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they did not come to them. Thus did We test them because they were defiantly disobedient.
164. And when a community among them said, "Why do you admonish a people whom Allah is about to destroy or punish with a severe punishment?" They said, "To be absolved before your Lord, and perhaps they may become mindful."
165. Then when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We saved those who forbade evil, and seized those who did wrong with a wretched punishment because they were defiantly disobedient.
166. So when they arrogantly persisted in what they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
167. And when your Lord declared that He would surely send against them, until the Day of Resurrection, those who would subject them to the worst torment; indeed, your Lord is swift in punishment, and indeed, He is surely Forgiving, Merciful.
168. And We dispersed them on earth into communities; among them are the righteous, and among them are others less than that. And We tested them with good and evil, that perhaps they might return.
169. Then there succeeded after them successors who inherited the Book, taking the worldly goods of this lower life, and saying, "We will be forgiven." Yet if similar worldly goods come to them, they take them. Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they would not say about Allah anything but the truth, even though they had full knowledge of what it contained? And the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who are mindful — will you not then reason?
170. And those who hold fast to the Book and establish prayer — indeed, We do not let go to waste the reward of the reformers.
171. And when We raised the mountain above them as if it were a canopy, and they thought it was about to fall upon them: "Take firmly what We have given you, and remember what is in it, that perhaps you may become mindful."
172. And when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves: "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, "We were unaware of this."
173. Or lest you should say, "It was only our forefathers who associated others before, and we were descendants after them; will You then destroy us for what the falsifiers did?"
174. And thus do We detail the verses, so that they may return.
175. And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our verses, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of those who went astray.
176. And had We willed, We would have elevated him by them; but he clung to the earth and followed his desire. So his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if you chase it, it pants; or if you leave it, it pants. That is the likeness of the people who denied Our verses; so relate the stories, that they may reflect.
177. Evil is the example of the people who denied Our signs and themselves they were wronging.
178. Whomever Allah guides, he is rightly guided; and whomever He leads astray — those are the losers.
179. And certainly We have created for Hellfire many of the jinn and humankind: they have hearts with which they do not understand, and they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like cattle; rather, they are even more astray. Those are the heedless.
180. And to Allah belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them; and leave those who deviate concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they used to do.
181. And among those We created is a community who guide by the truth, and by it they establish justice.
182. And those who deny Our signs — We shall progressively lead them on from where they do not know.
183. And I grant them respite; surely, My plan is firm.
184. Have they not reflected? There is no madness in their companion; he is but a clear warner.
185. Have they not looked into the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that Allah has created, and considered that perhaps their appointed term has drawn near? Then in what discourse after this will they believe?
186. Whomever Allah leads astray, there is no guide for him; and He leaves them wandering blindly in their transgression.
187. They ask you about the Hour — when will be its appointed time? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord; none reveals its time except Him. It weighs heavily in the heavens and the earth; it will not come upon you except suddenly." They ask you as if you were well-informed about it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know."
188. Say, "I possess neither benefit nor harm for myself, except what Allah wills. And if I had knowledge of the unseen, I would have acquired much good, and no harm would have touched me. I am but a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for a people who believe."
189. He is the One Who created you from a single soul, and made from it its mate, so that he might find tranquility in her. Then when he covered her, she carried a light burden and moved about with it; but when she grew heavy, they both called upon Allah, their Lord, "If You grant us a righteous child, we shall surely be among the grateful."
190. But when He granted them a righteous child, they ascribed partners to Him regarding what He had given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate.
191. Do they associate with Him those who create nothing, while they themselves are created?
192. And they cannot help them, nor can they help themselves.
193. And if you call them to guidance, they will not follow you; it is the same for you whether you call them or remain silent.
194. Truly, those whom you call upon besides Allah are servants like yourselves; so call upon them, and let them respond to you, if you are truthful.
195. Do they have feet with which they walk? Or do they have hands with which they strike? Or do they have eyes with which they see? Or do they have ears with which they hear? Say, "Call upon your partners, then plot against me, and grant me no respite."
196. Surely, my protector is Allah, Who has sent down the Book; and He protects the righteous.
197. And those whom you call upon besides Him cannot help you, nor can they help themselves.
198. And if you call them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking toward you, yet they do not see.
199. Take to forgiveness, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant.
200. And if an evil suggestion from Satan provokes you, seek refuge in Allah; surely, He is Hearing, Knowing.
201. Truly, those who are mindful of Allah — when a visitation from Satan touches them, they remember, and at once they see clearly.
202. And their brethren draw them deeper into error, and they do not relent.
203. And when you do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not chosen one?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord; this is clear insight from your Lord, and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."
204. And when the Quran is recited, listen to it and be silent, so that you may receive mercy.
205. And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and fearfully, and quietly, without loudness of speech, in the mornings and the evenings; and do not be among the heedless.
206. Truly, those who are with your Lord are not too proud to worship Him; and they glorify Him, and to Him they prostrate.
