In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. Blessed is He in Whose hand is the dominion, and He is powerful over all things.

2. He Who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deed; and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.

3. He Who created seven heavens in layers; you see no inconsistency in the creation of the Most Merciful. So return your vision — do you see any flaw?

4. Then return your vision twice again; your vision will return to you humbled and weary.

5. And certainly We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We made them missiles against the devils; and We have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

6. And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of Hell — and wretched is the destination.

7. When they are cast into it, they hear from it a dreadful inhaling as it boils.

8. Almost bursting with rage. Every time a group is cast into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"

9. They say, "Yes, certainly a warner came to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything; you are only in great error.'"

10. And they say, "If only we had listened or reasoned, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

11. Thus they confess their sin; so away with the companions of the Blaze.

12. Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen — for them is forgiveness and a great reward.

13. And conceal your speech or proclaim it; indeed, He is Knowing of what is within the breasts.

14. Does He Who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the All-Aware?

15. He is the One Who made the earth subservient for you; so walk in its paths and eat from His provision — and to Him is the resurrection.

16. Do you feel secure from Him Who is in the heaven, that He will not cause the earth to cave in beneath you, and suddenly it would quake?

17. Or do you feel secure from Him Who is in the heaven, that He will not send upon you a storm of stones? Then you will know how My warning was.

18. And certainly those before them denied; then how was My rejection?

19. Have they not seen the birds above them, spreading and folding? None holds them except the Most Merciful; truly, He is All-Seeing of everything.

20. Or who is it that could be troops for you, to help you apart from the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion.

21. Or who is this that could provide for you, if He withheld His provision? Rather, they persist in insolence and aversion.

22. Then is one who walks face down better guided, or one who walks upright upon a straight path?

23. Say, "It is He Who created you and made for you hearing, sight, and hearts; little are you grateful."

24. Say, "It is He Who multiplied you on the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."

25. And they say, "When is this promise, if you are truthful?"

26. Say, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."

27. But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieved will become gloomy, and it will be said, "This is what you used to demand."

28. Say, "Have you considered: if Allah destroys me and those with me, or has mercy upon us, then who will protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"

29. Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. Then you will know who it is that is in clear error."

30. Say, "Have you considered: if your water were to become sunken, then who could bring you flowing water?"
