In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made darkness and light; yet those who disbelieve equate others with their Lord.
2. He is the One Who created you from clay, then decreed a term — and a specified term is with Him; yet you doubt.
3. And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth; He knows your secrets and your declarations, and He knows what you earn.
4. And no sign comes to them from among the signs of their Lord except that they turn away from it.
5. Thus they denied the truth when it came to them; but soon there will come to them the news of that which they used to mock.
6. Have they not seen how many generations before them We destroyed? We had established them on earth more firmly than We have established you, and We sent abundant rain from the sky upon them, and made rivers flow beneath them; yet We destroyed them for their sins, and brought forth after them another generation.
7. And even if We had sent down to you a Book on parchment, and they touched it with their own hands, those who disbelieve would surely say, "This is nothing but clear magic."
8. And they say, "Why has an angel not been sent down to him?" But had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be granted respite.
9. And had We made him an angel, We would have made him appear as a man, and thus confused them in the same manner as they are now confused.
10. Certainly, messengers before you were mocked; but those who ridiculed them were overtaken by that which they used to mock.
11. Say, "Travel through the earth, then observe how was the end of those who denied."
12. Say, "To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth?" Say, "To Allah." He has prescribed mercy upon Himself; He will surely gather you to the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. Those who have lost themselves — they do not believe.
13. And to Him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the day; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
14. Say, "Shall I take as protector other than Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He Who feeds and is not fed?" Say, "I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit, and do not ever be among those who associate others with Allah."
15. Say, "I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."
16. Whoever is spared from it on that Day — He has surely granted him mercy; and that is the clear triumph.
17. And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it except Him; and if He touches you with good, He is powerful over all things.
18. And He is the Subjugator over His servants; and He is the Wise, the Aware.
19. Say, "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, "Allah is witness between me and you; and this Quran has been revealed to me that I may warn you thereby, and whomever it reaches. Do you really testify that with Allah there are other gods?" Say, "I do not testify." Say, "He is only One God, and indeed, I am free from what you associate."
20. Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize it as they recognize their own children. Those who have lost themselves — they do not believe.
21. And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or denies His verses? Surely, the wrongdoers will not succeed.
22. And on the Day We gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated others with Allah, "Where are your partners whom you used to claim?"
23. Then their only pretext will be that they say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated others."
24. See how they lie against themselves; and lost from them is what they used to invent.
25. And among them are those who listen to you; but We have placed coverings upon their hearts, so they do not understand it, and deafness in their ears. Even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it; until, when they come to you to argue with you, those who disbelieve say, "This is nothing but tales of the ancients."
26. And they forbid others from it and distance themselves from it; yet they destroy none but themselves, and they do not perceive.
27. If you could but see when they are made to stand before the Fire, and they say, "Oh, would that we could be returned; then we would not deny the signs of our Lord, and we would be among the believers!"
28. Rather, what they used to hide before has become apparent to them; and if they were returned, they would surely revert to what they were forbidden from, and indeed they are liars.
29. And they say, "There is nothing but our worldly life, and we will not be resurrected."
30. If you could but see when they are made to stand before their Lord; He will say, "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."
31. Certainly, those who denied the meeting with Allah have lost; until, when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they will say, "Alas for us, for what we neglected concerning it!" And they will bear their burdens upon their backs; surely evil is that which they bear.
32. And the worldly life is nothing but play and amusement; but the home of the Hereafter is better for those mindful of Allah. Will you not then reason?
33. We certainly know that what they say grieves you; yet it is not you they deny, but it is the signs of Allah that the wrongdoers reject.
34. And certainly messengers before you were denied, but they patiently endured denial and harm until Our help came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah; and surely there has come to you some news of the messengers.
35. And if their turning away is difficult for you, then if you are able to seek a tunnel into the earth or a ladder into the sky to bring them a sign — yet had Allah willed, He would have gathered them upon guidance; so never be among the ignorant.
36. Only those who hear will respond; and the dead — Allah will resurrect them, then to Him they will be returned.
37. And they say, "Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "Allah is certainly able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know."
38. And there is no creature on earth, nor bird flying with its wings, except that they are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book; then to their Lord they will be gathered.
39. And those who deny Our signs are deaf and mute in darkness. Whomever Allah wills, He leads astray; and whomever He wills, He places upon a straight path.
40. Say, "Have you considered: if Allah's punishment comes upon you, or the Hour comes upon you, would you call upon other than Allah, if you are truthful?"
41. Rather, it is Him alone you would call upon; and He would remove that for which you called upon Him, if He willed, and you would forget whatever you associate with Him.
42. And certainly We sent messengers to communities before you, and We seized them with hardship and adversity, that perhaps they might humble themselves.
43. Then why, when Our punishment came upon them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts hardened, and Satan made attractive to them what they used to do.
44. So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of all things; until, when they rejoiced in what they were given, We seized them suddenly, and behold — they were plunged into despair.
45. Thus the roots of the people who did wrong were cut off; and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
46. Say, "Have you considered: if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed your hearts, what god other than Allah could bring them back to you?" See how We diversify the signs; yet still they turn away.
47. Say, "Have you considered: if Allah's punishment came upon you suddenly or openly, would any be destroyed except the wrongdoing people?"
48. And We do not send the messengers except as bearers of glad tidings and warners; so whoever believes and reforms, no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve.
49. And those who deny Our verses, punishment will touch them because of their persistent defiant disobedience.
50. Say, "I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say to you that I am an angel; I follow only what is revealed to me." Say, "Are the blind and the seeing equal? Will you not then reflect?"
51. And warn by it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord; they have no protector or intercessor apart from Him, so that they may become mindful of Allah.
52. And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face. You are not accountable for them in anything, nor are they accountable for you in anything. If you were to drive them away, you would then be among the wrongdoers.
53. And thus We have tested some of them by means of others, so that they say, "Are these the ones whom Allah has favored among us?" Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?
54. And when those who believe in Our verses come to you, say, "Peace be upon you. Your Lord has prescribed mercy upon Himself. Whoever among you commits evil out of ignorance, then repents afterward and reforms — indeed, He is Forgiving, Merciful."
55. And thus We detail the verses, so that the way of the criminals may become clear.
56. Say, "I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call upon apart from Allah." Say, "I do not follow your desires; I would then have gone astray, and I would not be among the rightly guided."
57. Say, "I am upon clear evidence from my Lord, yet you have denied it. I do not possess that which you seek to hasten; judgment belongs only to Allah. He relates the truth, and He is the best of deciders."
58. Say, "If I possessed that which you seek to hasten, the matter would have been decided between me and you; and Allah is most knowing of the wrongdoers."
59. And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on land and in the sea; not a leaf falls but He knows it, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything moist or dry, except that it is in a clear record.
60. And He is the One Who takes your souls by night and knows what you have committed by day; then He revives you therein, so that an appointed term may be fulfilled. Then to Him is your return; then He will inform you of what you used to do.
61. And He is the Supreme over His servants; and He sends over you guardians, until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they do not neglect.
62. Then they are returned to Allah, their true Master. Surely, His is the judgment, and He is the swiftest of reckoners.
63. Say, "Who rescues you from the darknesses of land and sea when you call upon Him humbly and secretly, 'If He saves us from this, we will surely be among the grateful'?"
64. Say, "Allah rescues you from it and from every distress; yet afterward you associate others with Him."
65. Say, "He is the One able to send upon you punishment from above you or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you into factions and make you taste the violence of one another." See how We diversify the signs, that they might understand.
66. But your people have denied it, though it is the truth. Say, "I am not a guardian over you."
67. For every news there is a fixed time, and you will come to know.
68. And when you see those who engage in vain discourse concerning Our verses, turn away from them until they engage in other speech. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then after remembrance, do not sit with the wrongdoing people.
69. Those who are righteous bear no responsibility for their reckoning, but only a reminder, so that they might become righteous.
70. And leave those who take their religion as play and amusement, and whom the worldly life has deluded. But remind with it, lest a soul be delivered to ruin for what it has earned; it will have, besides Allah, neither protector nor intercessor. And if it should offer every ransom, it will not be accepted from it. Those are the ones delivered to ruin for what they have earned; for them is a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment because they used to disbelieve.
71. Say, "Shall we call upon, besides Allah, that which neither benefits us nor harms us, and turn back on our heels after Allah has guided us — like one whom the devils have enticed upon the earth, bewildered, though he has companions calling him to guidance: 'Come to us'?" Say, "Truly, the guidance of Allah is the guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."
72. And to establish prayer and fear Him; and it is He to Whom you will be gathered.
73. And it is He Who created the heavens and the earth in truth; and the Day He says, "Be," and it is. His word is the truth; and His is the dominion on the Day the trumpet is blown. Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Aware.
74. And when Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as gods? Truly, I see you and your people in manifest error."
75. And thus We showed Abraham the dominion of the heavens and the earth, so that he would be among those who have certainty.
76. So when the night covered him, he saw a star; he said, "This is my Lord." But when it set, he said, "I do not love those that set."
77. Then when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my Lord." But when it set, he said, "If my Lord does not guide me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."
78. Then when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my Lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed, I am free from what you associate."
79. "I have turned my face toward Him Who originated the heavens and the earth, inclining to truth; and I am not of those who associate others with Allah."
80. And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah, when He has guided me? And I do not fear what you associate with Him, unless my Lord wills something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; will you not then remember?"
81. "And how should I fear what you associate, while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know?"
82. Those who believe and do not mix their belief with wrongdoing — it is they who will have security, and they are rightly guided.
83. And that was Our argument, which We gave to Abraham against his people; We raise in degrees whom We will. Truly, your Lord is Wise, Knowing.
84. And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob — each We guided; and Noah We guided before; and among his descendants were David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. Thus do We reward those who excel in goodness.
85. And Zachariah, John, Jesus, and Elias — each was among the righteous.
86. And Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot — each We favored above all beings.
87. And from among their fathers, their descendants, and their brothers — We chose them and guided them to a straight path.
88. That is the guidance of Allah, by which He guides whom He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Him, surely worthless would have become whatever they used to do.
89. Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture, judgment, and prophethood. But if these disbelieve in it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not disbelievers in it.
90. Those are the ones whom Allah has guided; so follow their guidance. Say, "I ask of you no reward for it; it is but a reminder for all people."
91. And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal when they said, "Allah has not sent down anything to any human being." Say, "Who sent down the Scripture that Moses brought as a light and guidance for the people, which you make into parchments, you show it and hide much? And you were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew." Say, "Allah." Then leave them in their vain discourse, amusing themselves.
92. And this is a blessed Book that We have sent down, confirming what came before it, that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around it. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it, and they carefully maintain their prayers.
93. And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah, or says, "It has been revealed to me," while nothing has been revealed to him, and one who says, "I will send down the like of what Allah has sent down"? If you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the agonies of death, and the angels stretch forth their hands, "Yield up your souls! Today you will be recompensed with the punishment of humiliation for what you used to say falsely against Allah, and for arrogantly rejecting His verses."
94. And certainly you have come to Us alone, just as We created you the first time, and you have left behind your backs whatever We had bestowed upon you. And We do not see with you your intercessors whom you claimed were partners among you. Indeed, all bonds between you have been severed, and lost from you is all that you used to claim.
95. Truly, Allah is the Splitter of the grain and the seed; He brings forth the living from the dead, and He is the Bringer forth of the dead from the living. That is Allah; how then are you deluded?
96. He is the Splitter of daybreak, and He has made the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
97. And He is the One Who has made for you the stars, that you may be guided by them in the darknesses of land and sea. Certainly, We have detailed the signs for a people who know.
98. And He is the One Who produced you from a single soul; then there is a place of dwelling and a place of storage. Certainly, We have detailed the signs for a people who understand.
99. And He is the One Who sends down water from the sky, by which We bring forth vegetation of every kind. From it We bring forth greenery, from which We produce grain arranged in layers; and from the date-palm, from its spathes, clusters of dates hanging low; and gardens of grapes, olives, and pomegranates — alike yet distinct. Observe their fruits as they bear fruit and ripen. Indeed, in these are signs for people who believe.
100. And they have made the jinn partners with Allah, while He created them. And they have falsely ascribed to Him sons and daughters without knowledge. Glory be to Him, and exalted is He above what they describe.
101. Originator of the heavens and the earth — how could He have a child when He has no consort? And He created all things, and He is, of all things, Knowing.
102. That is Allah, your Lord; there is no god except Him, Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is, over all things, Guardian.
103. Vision does not perceive Him, yet He perceives all vision; and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware.
104. Certainly, insights have come to you from your Lord; so whoever sees clearly, it is for his own soul, and whoever is blind, it is against it. And I am not a keeper over you.
105. And thus do We diversify the signs, so they may say, "You have studied," and so We may make it clear for a people who know.
106. Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord; there is no god except Him — and turn away from those who associate others with Allah.
107. Had Allah willed, they would not have associated others with Him; and We have not made you a guardian over them, nor are you a trustee over them.
108. And do not insult those whom they invoke besides Allah, lest they insult Allah in hostility without knowledge. Thus have We made pleasing to every community their deeds; then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.
109. And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, "Signs are only with Allah." And what will make you perceive that even if it came, they would not believe?
110. And We will turn their hearts and their eyes, just as they refused to believe in it the first time; and We will leave them wandering blindly in their transgression.
111. And even if We had sent down to them the angels, and the dead spoke to them, and We gathered before them every thing in front of them, they would not believe unless Allah willed — but most of them are ignorant.
112. And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy — devils from among humans and jinn, inspiring one another with decorative speech in deception. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it; so leave them and what they fabricate.
113. And so that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter may incline toward it, and that they may be pleased with it, and that they may commit what they are committing.
114. Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge, while it is He Who has sent down to you the Book explained in detail? And those to whom We gave the Book know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth; so do not be among those who doubt.
115. And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice; none can alter His words — and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
116. And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture, and they do nothing but guess.
117. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of the rightly guided.
118. So eat of that upon which Allah's name has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.
119. And why should you not eat of that upon which Allah's name has been mentioned, when He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you — except that to which you are compelled? And indeed, many lead others astray by their desires without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of the transgressors.
120. And leave outward sin and inward sin; surely those who earn sin will be recompensed for what they used to commit.
121. And do not eat of that upon which Allah's name has not been mentioned, for it is indeed defiance; and surely the devils inspire their allies to dispute with you, and if you obey them, you are surely idolaters.
122. Is one who was dead, then We gave him life and made for him a light by which he walks among the people, like one whose likeness is in darkness, never emerging from it? Thus has been made pleasing to the disbelievers what they used to do.
123. And thus have We placed in every town its greatest criminals, that they may plot therein; yet they plot only against themselves, but they perceive not.
124. And when a sign comes to them, they say, "We will never believe until we are given the like of what was given to Allah's messengers." Allah knows best where He places His message; humiliation with Allah and severe punishment will afflict those who committed crimes, for what they used to plot.
125. So whoever Allah wills to guide, He expands his breast to Islam; and whoever He wills to lead astray, He makes his breast tight and constricted, as though he were ascending into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.
126. And this is the path of your Lord, straight; We have detailed the verses for a people who remember.
127. For them is the abode of peace with their Lord, and He is their protector, because of what they used to do.
128. And on the Day when He gathers them all: "O assembly of jinn, you have indeed taken many from among humankind." And their allies among humankind will say, "Our Lord, we benefited from one another, and we have reached our term which You appointed for us." He will say, "The Fire is your dwelling, abiding therein eternally, except what Allah wills; surely your Lord is Wise, Knowing."
129. And thus do We make some wrongdoers allies of others, because of what they used to earn.
130. "O assembly of jinn and humankind, did there not come to you messengers from among yourselves, relating to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." And the worldly life deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
131. That is because your Lord would not destroy towns unjustly while their people were unaware.
132. And for all are degrees according to what they have done; and your Lord is not unaware of what they do.
133. And your Lord is the Self-Sufficient, Possessor of Mercy. If He wills, He can remove you and succeed you afterward with whomever He wills, just as He produced you from the descendants of another people.
134. Surely, what you are promised is coming, and you cannot escape.
135. Say, "O my people, work according to your position; indeed, I am working. Then you will know who will have the ultimate abode. Surely, the wrongdoers will not succeed."
136. And they assign to Allah a portion of what He has produced of crops and livestock, saying, "This is for Allah, and this is for our partners," according to their claim. But what is for their partners does not reach Allah, while what is for Allah reaches their partners. Evil is what they judge.
137. And likewise, their partners have made alluring to many of the idolaters the killing of their children, to bring about their ruin, and to obscure their religion for them. Had Allah willed, they would not have done so; so leave them and what they fabricate.
138. And they say, "These livestock and crops are forbidden; none may eat them except whom we will," by their claim; and livestock whose backs are forbidden, and livestock over which they do not mention the name of Allah — fabricating lies against Him. He will recompense them for what they used to fabricate.
139. And they say, "What is in the wombs of these livestock is exclusively for our males and forbidden to our wives; but if it is born dead, then all may share in it." He will recompense them for their description; indeed, He is Wise, Knowing.
140. Certainly, those who killed their children foolishly have lost, without knowledge, and forbade what Allah provided them — fabricating lies against Allah. They have gone astray and were not guided.
141. And He it is Who produced gardens, trellised and untrellised, and date palms and crops of diverse produce, and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat of their fruit when they bear fruit, and give its right on the day of its harvest; and do not be excessive — indeed, He does not love the excessive.
142. And of the livestock are those for burden and those for spreading. Eat of what Allah has provided you, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan; indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
143. Eight pairs: of sheep two, and of goats two. Say, "Has He forbidden the two males or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you are truthful."
144. And of camels two, and of cattle two. Say, "Has He forbidden the two males or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain? Or were you witnesses when Allah enjoined this upon you?" Then who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah to mislead people without knowledge? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
145. Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to one who eats it, except that it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine — for indeed, it is impure — or a sinful offering over which a name other than Allah's has been invoked. But whoever is compelled by necessity, neither desiring nor transgressing, then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful."
146. And upon those who were Jews, We forbade every animal with claw; and of cattle and sheep, We forbade them their fat, except what their backs carried, or the entrails, or what was mixed with bone. Thus did We recompense them for their transgression; and surely, We are truthful.
147. So if they deny you, say, "Your Lord is Possessor of vast mercy; but His punishment will not be turned away from the guilty people."
148. Those who associate others with Allah will say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have associated others, nor would our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything." Thus did those before them deny, until they tasted Our punishment. Say, "Do you have any knowledge that you can produce for us? You follow nothing but conjecture, and you are only guessing."
149. Say, "With Allah is the conclusive proof; and had He willed, He would have guided you all."
150. Say, "Bring forth your witnesses who testify that Allah has forbidden this." Then if they testify, do not testify with them; and do not follow the desires of those who deny Our verses, and those who do not believe in the Hereafter, and who equate others with their Lord.
151. Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you: that you associate nothing with Him; and to parents, do good; and do not kill your children out of poverty — We provide for you and for them; and do not approach immoralities, whether open or concealed; and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right." This He has enjoined upon you, that you may understand.
152. And do not approach the property of the orphan, except in the best manner, until he reaches maturity; and give full measure and weight with justice — We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity; and when you speak, be just, even if it concerns a relative; and fulfill the covenant of Allah. This He has enjoined upon you, that you may remember.
153. And this is My path, straight; so follow it, and do not follow other ways, lest they separate you from His way. This He has enjoined upon you, that you may become mindful of Allah.
154. Then We gave Moses the Scripture, completing Our favor upon those who did good, and as a detailed explanation of all things, and as guidance and mercy, that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.
155. And this is a blessed Book which We have sent down; so follow it and be mindful of Allah, that you may receive mercy.
156. Lest you say, "The Scripture was only sent down to two groups before us, and we were indeed unaware of their study."
157. Or lest you say, "If only the Scripture had been sent down to us, we would surely have been better guided than they." Now there has come to you a clear proof from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. So who is more unjust than one who denies the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our verses with the worst punishment, because they used to turn away.
158. Do they await anything except that the angels should come to them, or your Lord should come, or some of your Lord's signs should come? On the day some of your Lord's signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith, if it had not believed before or earned some good in its faith. Say, "Wait; indeed, we are waiting."
159. Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects — you have nothing to do with them; their affair is only with Allah, then He will inform them of what they used to do.
160. Whoever comes with a good deed will have ten times its like; and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except with its equivalent — and they will not be wronged.
161. Say, "Truly, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, an upright religion — the creed of Abraham, inclining toward truth — and he was not among those who associate others with Allah."
162. Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
163. He has no partner; and this I have been commanded, and I am the first of those who submit."
164. Say, "Shall I seek a lord other than Allah, while He is Lord of all things? And no soul earns except against itself; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
165. And it is He Who has made you successors on earth, and raised some of you above others in degrees, to test you in what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in punishment; and indeed, He is surely Forgiving, Merciful.
