In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. By the Mount.

2. And by a Book inscribed.

3. On parchment unfolded.

4. And by the frequented House.

5. And by the raised canopy.

6. And by the sea overflowing.

7. Truly, the punishment of your Lord will surely occur.

8. There is none to avert it.

9. On the Day when the heaven will sway with violent swaying.

10. And the mountains will move with swift movement.

11. Then woe, on that Day, to the deniers.

12. Those who amuse themselves in idle discourse.

13. The Day they will be thrust toward the Fire of Hell with forceful thrusting.

14. "This is the Fire which you used to deny.

15. Is this magic, or do you not see?

16. Enter it; then be patient or impatient — it is all the same for you; you are only recompensed for what you used to do."

17. Truly, the reverent will be in Gardens and bliss.

18. Delighting in what their Lord has given them; and their Lord has protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.

19. "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

20. Reclining upon couches arranged in rows; and We will wed them to fair ones with beautiful eyes.

21. And those who believed, and whose descendants followed them in faith — We will join their descendants with them; and We will not diminish anything from their deeds. Every person is pledged for what he has earned.

22. And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

23. They will exchange therein a cup, wherein is neither vain speech nor sin.

24. And there will circulate among them youths devoted to them, as if they were pearls well-protected.

25. And they will approach one another, asking each other.

26. They will say, "Truly, we were previously among our families fearful.

27. But Allah has bestowed favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the scorching wind.

28. Truly, we used to call upon Him before; truly, it is He Who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

29. So remind — for by the favor of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.

30. Or do they say, "A poet — for whom we await some misfortune of time"?

31. Say, "Wait; for indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

32. Or do their minds command them to this? Or are they a transgressing people?

33. Or do they say, "He has fabricated it"? Rather, they do not believe.

34. Then let them produce a discourse like it, if they are truthful.

35. Or were they created from nothing, or are they themselves the creators?

36. Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they have no certainty.

37. Or do they possess the treasures of your Lord, or are they the controllers?

38. Or do they have a ladder by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.

39. Or does He have daughters while you have sons?

40. Or do you ask them for a reward, so they are burdened by debt?

41. Or do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so they write it down?

42. Or do they intend a plot? But those who disbelieve — they themselves are the object of plotting.

43. Or do they have a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah above what they associate.

44. And if they were to see a fragment falling from the sky, they would say, "A mass of clouds piled up."

45. So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck down.

46. The Day their plotting will avail them nothing, nor will they be helped.

47. And truly, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment besides that; but most of them do not know.

48. And be patient for the judgment of your Lord, for truly, you are under Our Eyes; and glorify the praise of your Lord when you arise.

49. And in the night glorify Him, and at the retreat of the stars.
