In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. Certainly, We have granted you a clear victory.

2. That Allah may forgive you your past and future sins, complete His favor upon you, and guide you on a straight path.

3. And that Allah may support you with a mighty victory.

4. He is the One Who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, that they may increase in faith along with their faith; and to Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is ever Knowing, Wise.

5. That He may admit the believing men and believing women into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally in them, and remove from them their misdeeds; and that, with Allah, is a great triumph.

6. And that He may punish the hypocritical men and hypocritical women, and the idolatrous men and idolatrous women, those who harbor evil assumptions about Allah. Upon them is the evil turn of fortune; and Allah is angry with them, and has cursed them, and has prepared for them Hell — and evil is it as a destination.

7. And to Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

8. Truly, We have sent you as a witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner.

9. That you may believe in Allah and His Messenger, and support him, and honor him, and glorify Him morning and evening.

10. Surely, those who pledge allegiance to you pledge allegiance only to Allah; the Hand of Allah is above their hands. So whoever breaks his pledge breaks it only against himself; and whoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah — He will grant him a great reward.

11. Those of the Bedouins who remained behind will say to you, "Our wealth and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Then who has any power for you against Allah, if He intends harm for you or intends benefit for you?" Rather, Allah is ever Aware of what you do.

12. Rather, you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, and that was made pleasing in your hearts; and you harbored evil assumptions, and you became a worthless people.

13. And whoever does not believe in Allah and His Messenger — then Certainly, We have prepared for the disbelievers a blazing Fire.

14. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills; and Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

15. Those who remained behind will say when you set forth toward spoils to take them, "Let us follow you." They wish to alter the words of Allah. Say, "You will never follow us; thus has Allah said beforehand." Then they will say, "Rather, you envy us." Rather, they did not understand except a little.

16. Say to those Bedouins who remained behind, "You will be called to face a people of great might; you will fight them, or they will submit. If you obey, Allah will grant you a good reward; but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."

17. There is no blame upon the blind, nor blame upon the lame, nor blame upon the sick. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will admit him into Gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns away, He will punish him with a painful punishment.

18. Certainly, Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you beneath the tree; He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent victory.

19. And abundant spoils that they will take; and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

20. Allah has promised you abundant spoils that you will take, and He has hastened this for you, and restrained the hands of people from you, that it may be a sign for the believers, and that He may guide you to a straight path.

21. And others which you have not yet been able to achieve — Allah has already encompassed them; and Allah is ever Powerful over all things.

22. And if those who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs; then they would not have found any protector or helper.

23. The established way of Allah, which has occurred before; and you will never find any change in the way of Allah.

24. And it is He Who restrained their hands from you, and your hands from them, within the midst of Mecca, after He had granted you victory over them; and Allah is ever Seeing of what you do.

25. They are the ones who disbelieved and obstructed you from the Sacred Mosque, and prevented the offering from reaching its place. And if not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know — lest you trample them and thus unknowingly incur guilt on account of them — that Allah may admit into His mercy whom He wills; if they had been clearly separated, We would surely have punished those who disbelieved among them with a painful punishment.

26. When those who disbelieved placed in their hearts zealotry — the zealotry of ignorance — then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers, and He bound them to the word of reverence; and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And Allah is, of all things, Knowing.

27. Certainly, Allah has fulfilled for His Messenger the vision in truth: you will enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills, in security, with your heads shaved and hair shortened, not fearing. For He knew what you did not know, and He has made, besides this, a near victory.

28. He is the One Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it prevail over all religion; and sufficient is Allah as Witness.

29. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are firm against the disbelievers, compassionate among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking bounty from Allah and His pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the effect of prostration. That is their likeness in the Torah; and their likeness in the Gospel is as a plant that produces its shoot, then strengthens it, so it grows firm and stands upon its stalk, delighting the sowers — so that He may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness and a great reward.
