In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. Ha. Meem.
2. Ayn. Seen. Qaf.
3. Thus does Allah, the Almighty, the Wise, reveal to you and to those before you.
4. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth; and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
5. The heavens nearly break apart from above them; and the angels glorify the praise of their Lord and seek forgiveness for those on earth. Surely, Allah is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
6. And those who take protectors besides Him — Allah is Guardian over them; and you are not a trustee over them.
7. And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around it, and warn of the Day of Gathering, about which there is no doubt — a party in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
8. And had Allah willed, He would have made them one community; but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have neither protector nor helper.
9. Or have they taken protectors besides Him? Yet Allah — He is the Protector; and He gives life to the dead; and He is powerful over all things.
10. And whatever you differ about in anything, its judgment is with Allah. That is Allah, my Lord; upon Him I rely, and to Him I turn.
11. Originator of the heavens and the earth; He has made for you mates from yourselves, and mates among the cattle, multiplying you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him; and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
12. To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth; He extends provision to whom He wills and restricts it. Truly, He is, of all things, Knowing.
13. He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: "Establish the religion, and do not be divided therein." Difficult for the idolaters is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and He guides to Himself whoever turns in repentance.
14. And they did not become divided except after knowledge had come to them, out of rivalry among themselves. And were it not for a word that preceded from your Lord until an appointed term, judgment would have been passed between them. And truly, those who inherited the Scripture after them are in disquieting doubt concerning it.
15. So to that invite, and remain upright as you have been commanded, and do not follow their desires. And say, "I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down, and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. There is no argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together; and to Him is the final return."
16. And those who argue concerning Allah after He has been responded to — their argument is invalid with their Lord; and upon them is wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.
17. Allah is the One Who has sent down the Book with truth and the balance; and what will make you know? Perhaps the Hour is near.
18. Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it; but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Certainly, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in far error.
19. Allah is gentle with His servants; He provides for whom He wills, and He is the Powerful, the Almighty.
20. Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase for him in his harvest; and whoever desires the harvest of this world, We give him thereof, but he will have no share in the Hereafter.
21. Or do they have partners who have ordained for them a religion which Allah has not permitted? Were it not for the decisive word, judgment would have been passed between them; and indeed, for the wrongdoers there is a painful punishment.
22. You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will surely befall them; but those who believe and do righteous deeds will be in the meadows of the Gardens. They will have whatever they wish with their Lord; that is the great bounty.
23. That is what Allah gives as glad tidings to His servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, "I ask of you no reward for it except affection among kin." And whoever commits a good deed, We increase for him good therein; indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Appreciative.
24. Or do they say, "He has fabricated a lie against Allah"? But if Allah willed, He would seal your heart; and Allah erases falsehood and establishes the truth by His words. Indeed, He is Knowing of what is within the breasts.
25. And He is the One Who accepts repentance from His servants, pardons misdeeds, and knows what you do.
26. And He answers those who believe and do righteous deeds, and He increases them from His bounty; but for the disbelievers there is a severe punishment.
27. And if Allah were to extend provision abundantly for His servants, they would surely transgress on earth; but He sends down in due measure whatever He wills. Certainly, He is All-Aware, All-Seeing of His servants.
28. And He is the One Who sends down rain after they have despaired, and spreads His mercy; and He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.
29. And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever living creatures He has dispersed in them; and He is, when He wills, capable of gathering them.
30. And whatever affliction befalls you is due to what your own hands have earned; yet He pardons much.
31. And you cannot escape on earth; and you have, besides Allah, neither protector nor helper.
32. And among His signs are the ships sailing on the sea like mountains.
33. If He wills, He calms the wind, and they remain motionless on its surface; surely in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
34. Or He could destroy them for what they have earned — but He pardons much.
35. And so that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that they have no escape.
36. Whatever you have been given is but enjoyment of the life of this world; and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and upon their Lord rely.
37. And those who avoid major sins and immoralities, and when they become angry, they forgive.
38. And those who respond to their Lord, establish prayer, whose affair is consultation among themselves, and who spend from what We have provided them.
39. And those who, when tyranny afflicts them, seek redress.
40. And the recompense of an evil deed is an evil deed like it; but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is upon Allah; surely, He does not love the wrongdoers.
41. And whoever defends himself after having been wronged — there is no blame upon them.
42. Blame is only upon those who wrong people and transgress unjustly on earth; for them is a painful punishment.
43. And whoever is patient and forgives — surely, that is among matters requiring firm resolve.
44. And whomever Allah leads astray, he has no protector after Him; and you will see the wrongdoers, when they behold the punishment, saying, "Is there any way of return?"
45. And you will see them presented before it, humbled by disgrace, looking from a hidden glance; and those who believed will say, "Truly, the losers are those who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection." Surely, the wrongdoers are in lasting punishment.
46. And they will have no protectors to help them apart from Allah; and whomever Allah leads astray, for him there is no way.
47. Respond to your Lord before there comes a Day from Allah that cannot be averted; you will have no refuge on that Day, nor any ability to deny.
48. But if they turn away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them; upon you is only the conveyance. And truly, when We let the human taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts them because of what their hands have sent forth, then indeed, the human is ungrateful.
49. To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates whatever He wills; He grants to whom He wills females, and He grants to whom He wills males.
50. Or He pairs them, males and females; and He makes whom He wills barren. Certainly, He is Knowing, Powerful.
51. And it is not for any human that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, or from behind a veil, or that He sends a messenger who reveals, by His permission, whatever He wills. Certainly, He is Most High, Wise.
52. And thus We have revealed to you a spirit from Our command; you did not know what the Book was, nor what faith was — but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And surely, you guide to a straight path.
53. The path of Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Surely, to Allah all matters return.
