In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise.
2. Truly, We have sent down to you the Book with truth; so worship Allah, devoting religion purely to Him.
3. Surely, pure religion belongs to Allah alone; and those who take protectors besides Him say, "We worship them only that they may bring us nearer to Allah in closeness." Certainly, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ; indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a liar, a disbeliever.
4. Had Allah wanted to take a son, He would have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Glory be to Him; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
5. He created the heavens and the earth with truth; He wraps the night over the day, and He wraps the day over the night; and He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running for an appointed term. Surely, He is the Almighty, the All-Forgiving.
6. He created you from a single soul, then made from it its mate; and He sent down for you eight pairs of livestock. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in threefold darkness. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. There is no god except Him; how then are you turned away?
7. If you disbelieve, then surely Allah is free of need from you; yet He is not pleased with disbelief for His servants. And if you are grateful, He is pleased with it for you. No bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another; then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you of what you used to do. Certainly, He is Knower of what is within the breasts.
8. And when harm touches the human being, he calls upon his Lord, turning penitently to Him; then, when He bestows upon him a favor from Himself, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, to mislead from His way. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are among the companions of the Fire."
9. Is one who is devoutly obedient during the hours of the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord — ? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only those of understanding take heed.
10. Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is goodness; and Allah's earth is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure."
11. Say, "Surely, I have been commanded to worship Allah, devoting religion purely to Him.
12. And I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit."
13. Say, "Certainly, I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."
14. Say, "Allah alone do I worship, devoting my religion purely to Him.
15. So worship whatever you will besides Him." Say, "Indeed, the losers are those who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Surely, that is the manifest loss."
16. For them are layers of fire above them, and layers beneath them; by that Allah frightens His servants. O My servants, fear Me.
17. And those who avoid false gods — lest they worship them — and turn penitently to Allah — for them are glad tidings; so give glad tidings to My servants.
18. Those who listen to the speech and follow the best of it; those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the people of understanding.
19. Then, is one upon whom the decree of punishment has become due — can you rescue one who is in the Fire?
20. But those who fear their Lord — for them are chambers, above them are built chambers, beneath which rivers flow; the promise of Allah — Allah does not break the promise.
21. Have you not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky, then He makes it flow as springs in the earth, then He brings forth by it crops of varying colors, then they wither, so that you see them turning yellow, then He makes them dry debris? Truly, in that is a reminder for people of understanding.
22. Then, is one whose breast Allah has opened to Islam, so he is upon a light from his Lord — woe, then, to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah; those are in clear misguidance.
23. Allah has sent down the best discourse — a book mutually resembling and reiterative, from which the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver; then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah; He guides by it whom He wills. And whomever Allah leaves astray, for him there is no guide.
24. Then, is one who shields with his face the worst of punishment on the Day of Resurrection? And it will be said to the wrongdoers, "Taste what you used to earn."
25. Those before them denied, so punishment came upon them from where they did not perceive.
26. Thus Allah made them taste disgrace in the life of this world; yet the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew.
27. And certainly We have presented for humankind in this Quran every kind of example, that they might remember.
28. An Arabic Quran, without any crookedness, that they might become mindful.
29. Allah presents an example: a man belonging to quarreling partners, and another man belonging entirely to one master — are they equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah; yet most of them do not know.
30. Truly, you will die, and truly, they will die.
31. Then, indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, you will dispute.
32. So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not in Hell a dwelling place for the disbelievers?
33. And the one who brings the truth and confirms it — those are the mindful of Allah.
34. For them is whatever they wish with their Lord; that is the reward of those who do good.
35. That Allah may remove from them the worst of what they did, and reward them their recompense according to the best of what they used to do.
36. Is not Allah sufficient for His servant? Yet they frighten you with those besides Him. And whomever Allah leaves astray, for him there is no guide.
37. And whomever Allah guides, for him there is no misleader. Is not Allah Almighty, Possessor of Retribution?
38. And if you ask them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will surely say, "Allah." Say, "Then have you considered those whom you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended harm for me, are they removers of His harm? Or if He intended mercy for me, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Allah is sufficient for me; upon Him rely those who rely."
39. Say, "O my people, act according to your position; indeed, I am acting. Then you will come to know.
40. Who will receive a punishment that disgraces him, and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment."
41. Truly, We have sent down to you the Book for humankind in truth. So whoever is guided, it is for his own soul; and whoever goes astray, only goes astray against it. And you are not a guardian over them.
42. Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die during their sleep. Then He keeps those for whom He has decreed death, and releases the others for an appointed term. Surely, in that are signs for a people who reflect.
43. Or have they taken intercessors besides Allah? Say, "Even though they possess nothing and do not reason?"
44. Say, "To Allah belongs all intercession. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; then to Him you will be returned."
45. And when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion; but when those besides Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice.
46. Say, "O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants concerning that over which they used to differ."
47. And if those who did wrong possessed all that is on earth, and the like of it with it, they would surely offer it as ransom from the evil of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection; and there will appear to them from Allah that which they had not anticipated.
48. And there will appear to them the evils of what they earned, and that which they used to mock will encompass them.
49. So when harm touches a human being, he calls upon Us; then, when We grant him a favor from Us, he says, "I was given it only because of knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.
50. Those before them had already said it, yet what they used to earn did not avail them.
51. Thus, the evils of what they earned overtook them; and those who have done wrong among these — the evils of what they earned will overtake them, and they cannot escape.
52. Do they not know that Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts it? Truly, in that are signs for a people who believe.
53. Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of Allah's mercy; surely, Allah forgives all sins. Surely, it is He Who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
54. And turn back to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.
55. And follow the best of what has been revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly, while you do not perceive.
56. Lest a soul should say, "Oh, my regret over what I neglected regarding Allah, and indeed, I was among those who mocked."
57. Or lest it should say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the mindful of Allah."
58. Or lest it should say, when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another chance, I would be among those who do good."
59. Rather, My verses had already come to you, but you denied them, were arrogant, and were among the disbelievers.
60. And on the Day of Resurrection, you will see those who lied against Allah — their faces blackened. Is there not in Hellfire a residence for the arrogant?
61. And Allah will save those who were mindful of Him by their success; no evil will touch them, nor will they grieve.
62. Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Guardian.
63. To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth; and those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah — it is they who are the losers.
64. Say, "Is it other than Allah you command me to worship, O ignorant ones?"
65. And certainly it has been revealed to you and to those before you: "If you associate others with Allah, your deeds will surely become worthless, and you will surely be among the losers."
66. Rather, worship Allah, and be among the grateful.
67. They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal; and the earth entirely will be in His grasp on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He, and high above what they associate.
68. And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be stunned, except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on.
69. And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord; and the Record will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought forth; and judgment will be made between them in truth, and they will not be wronged.
70. And every soul will be fully recompensed for what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do.
71. And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hellfire in groups, until, when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say to them, "Did there not come to you messengers from among yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers."
72. It will be said, "Enter the gates of Hellfire, abiding eternally therein." How wretched is the abode of the arrogant.
73. And those who were mindful of their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups, until, when they reach it and its gates have been opened, its keepers will say to them, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure, so enter it, abiding eternally."
74. And they will say, 'Praise be to Allah, Who has fulfilled for us His promise, and made us inherit the land so that we may settle in Paradise wherever we wish.' How excellent is the reward of those who worked.
75. And you will see the angels surrounding the Throne, glorifying with praise of their Lord; and judgment will be made between them in truth, and it will be said, "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
