In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. Ya. Seen.

2. By the wise Quran.

3. Truly, you are among the messengers.

4. Upon a straight path.

5. A revelation of the Almighty, the Merciful.

6. That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

7. Certainly, the word has come true upon most of them, so they do not believe.

8. Surely, We have placed shackles upon their necks, reaching up to their chins, so their heads are raised upward.

9. And We have placed before them a barrier and behind them a barrier, and covered them, so they do not see.

10. And it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them — they will not believe.

11. You only warn one who follows the Reminder and fears the Merciful unseen; so give him glad tidings of forgiveness and a noble reward.

12. Surely, it is We Who give life to the dead and record what they have sent forth and their traces; and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.

13. And present to them an example — the people of the town, when the messengers came to it.

14. When We sent to them two, but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Truly, we are messengers to you."

15. They said, "You are nothing but human beings like us, and the Merciful has not sent down anything; you are only lying."

16. They said, "Our Lord knows that we are indeed messengers to you.

17. And nothing is upon us except clear conveyance."

18. They said, "Surely, we consider you an evil omen; if you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and a painful punishment from us will surely afflict you."

19. They said, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people."

20. And there came from the farthest end of the city a man running; he said, "O my people, follow the messengers.

21. Follow those who ask of you no reward, and who are rightly guided."

22. And why should I not worship the One Who created me, and to Whom you will be returned?

23. Shall I take gods other than Him? If the Most Merciful intends harm for me, their intercession will avail me nothing, nor can they save me.

24. Truly, I would then be in clear error.

25. Truly, I have believed in your Lord, so hear me.

26. It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "If only my people knew.

27. Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored."

28. And We did not send down upon his people after him any host from heaven, nor would We have done so.

29. It was but a single blast, and suddenly, they were extinguished.

30. How regretful for the servants; no messenger comes to them except that they mock him.

31. Have they not seen how many generations before them We destroyed — that they will not return to them?

32. And each, and every single one of them, will surely be brought before Us.

33. And a sign for them is the dead earth: We have given it life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.

34. And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines, and caused springs to gush forth within it.

35. That they may eat of its fruit, though their hands did not make it. Will they not then be grateful?

36. Glory be to the One Who created all pairs — from what the earth grows, and from themselves, and from that which they do not know.

37. And a sign for them is the night: We strip from it the day, and behold, they are in darkness.

38. And the sun runs toward its appointed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

39. And the moon — We have determined for it phases, until it returns like the old date-stalk.

40. Neither is it for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outpace the day; and each swims in an orbit.

41. And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden ship.

42. And We created for them the likes of it, upon which they ride.

43. And if We willed, We could drown them; then no one would respond to their cries, nor would they be saved.

44. Except as a mercy from Us, and provision for a time.

45. And when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, that you may receive mercy."

46. And no sign comes to them from among the signs of their Lord except that they turn away from it.

47. And when it is said to them, "Spend from what Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Shall we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are only in clear error."

48. And they say, "When will this promise come, if you are truthful?"

49. They await nothing but a single blast, which will take them while they are disputing.

50. Then they will not be able to make a testament, nor will they return to their families.

51. And the trumpet will be blown, and behold — they will rush forth from the graves to their Lord.

52. They will say, "Woe to us! Who has raised us from our resting place? This is what the Most Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth."

53. It will be but a single blast, and behold — they will all be brought before Us.

54. So today no soul will be wronged in the least, nor will you be recompensed except for what you used to do.

55. Indeed, the companions of Paradise today are occupied joyfully.

56. They and their spouses are reclining on couches in shade.

57. For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request.

58. "Peace" — a word from a Merciful Lord.

59. "And stand apart today, O you criminals.

60. Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan? Truly, he is to you a clear enemy.

61. And that you worship Me? This is a straight path.

62. Yet he has certainly led astray from among you a great multitude; did you not then use reason?

63. This is Hellfire, which you were promised.

64. Enter it today, because you used to disbelieve."

65. Today We will seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.

66. And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race toward the path — but how could they see?

67. And if We willed, We could have transformed them in their places, so they would be unable to proceed, nor could they return.

68. And whomever We grant long life, We reverse him in creation; will they not then understand?

69. And We did not teach him poetry, nor is it befitting for him; it is but a reminder and a clear Quran.

70. To warn whoever is alive, and so that the word may be justified against the disbelievers.

71. Do they not see that We created for them, from what Our hands have made, livestock, so they are its owners?

72. And We subdued them for them; so from them is their riding, and from them they eat.

73. And for them therein are benefits and drinks; will they not then be grateful?

74. Yet they have taken gods other than Allah, that perhaps they might be helped.

75. They cannot help them, yet they will be brought forth as troops assembled for them.

76. So let not their speech grieve you; surely We know what they conceal and what they declare.

77. Does the human being not see that We created him from a drop — then behold, he is an open adversary?

78. And he sets forth for Us an example and forgets his own creation; he says, "Who will give life to bones when they have decayed?"

79. Say, "He will give them life Who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."

80. He Who made for you fire from the green tree — then behold, from it you kindle.

81. Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yes; and He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.

82. His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, "Be," and it is.

83. So glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
