In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. Praise be to Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Maker of the angels as messengers having wings — two, three, and four. He increases in creation what He wills; truly, Allah is powerful over all things.

2. Whatever mercy Allah opens for the people, none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds, none can release it thereafter. And He is the Almighty, the Wise.

3. O humankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? There is no god but He; how then are you deluded?

4. And if they deny you, certainly messengers before you were denied; and to Allah all matters are returned.

5. O humankind, the promise of Allah is true; so let not the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Deceiver deceive you concerning Allah.

6. Truly, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.

7. Those who disbelieve — for them is a severe punishment; and those who believe and do righteous deeds — for them is forgiveness and a great reward.

8. Is one whose evil deed is made attractive to him, so he sees it as good? For Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills; so do not let your soul waste away in regrets over them. Truly, Allah is Knowing of what they do.

9. And Allah is He Who sends the winds, and they stir clouds; then We drive them to a dead land and revive thereby the earth after its death — thus is the Resurrection.

10. Whoever desires honor — then to Allah belongs all honor. To Him ascends the good word, and righteous deed raises it. But those who plot evil deeds — for them is a severe punishment; and the plotting of those — it will perish.

11. And Allah created you from dust, then from a drop, then He made you pairs. And no female conceives nor gives birth except with His knowledge; and no aged person is granted length of life nor is his lifespan shortened except that it is in a Book. Truly, that is easy for Allah.

12. And not equal are the two seas: this one sweet, fresh, pleasant to drink, and this one salty, bitter. Yet from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments that you wear; and you see the ships plowing through them, that you may seek of His bounty and perhaps you will be grateful.

13. He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night, and He has subjected the sun and the moon — each running for an appointed term. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke besides Him do not possess even the membrane of a date seed.

14. If you call upon them, they do not hear your call; and even if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your associating them as partners. And none can inform you like One Who is All-Aware.

15. O humankind, you are the ones in need of Allah; and Allah, He is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy.

16. If He wills, He can remove you and bring forth a new creation.

17. And that is not difficult for Allah.

18. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another; and if a heavily laden one calls another to its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if it be a close relative. You only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and establish prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for his own soul. And to Allah is the final destination.

19. And not equal are the blind and the seeing.

20. Nor the darknesses and the light.

21. Nor the shade and the scorching heat.

22. And not equal are the living and the dead. Indeed, Allah causes to hear whom He wills; but you cannot make hear those who are in the graves.

23. You are only a warner.

24. Truly, We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner; and there was no community except that a warner had passed among them.

25. And if they deny you, then certainly those before them denied; their messengers came to them with clear proofs, with scriptures, and with the illuminating Book.

26. Then I seized those who disbelieved; so how was My reproach!

27. Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky, and We bring forth thereby fruits of varying colors? And among the mountains are streaks white and red, of varying hues, and jet black.

28. And among people, creatures, and livestock are likewise diverse colors. Only those among His servants who have knowledge truly fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

29. Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend secretly and openly from what We have provided them, hope for a commerce that will never perish.

30. That He may give them their rewards in full and increase them from His bounty; indeed, He is Forgiving, Appreciative.

31. And that which We have revealed to you of the Book is the truth, confirming what was before it; indeed, Allah is, of His servants, All-Aware, All-Seeing.

32. Then We caused to inherit the Book those whom We have chosen from among Our servants; among them is one who wrongs himself, and among them is one moderate, and among them is one foremost in good deeds by Allah's permission — that is the great bounty.

33. Gardens of Eternity, which they will enter; therein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk.

34. And they will say, "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us all sorrow; indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative.

35. Who has settled us in the abode of permanence by His bounty; therein no fatigue will touch us, nor will weariness afflict us."

36. And those who disbelieve — for them is the Fire of Hell; neither will it be decreed for them that they should die, nor will its punishment be lightened for them. Thus do We recompense every ungrateful one.

37. And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteous deeds other than those we used to do." Did We not grant you life long enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner came to you? So taste, for the wrongdoers have no helper.

38. Truly, Allah is Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth; surely, He is Knowing of what lies within the breasts.

39. He is the One Who made you successors on earth; so whoever disbelieves, upon him is his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers increases them not with their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers increases them not except in loss.

40. Say, "Have you considered your partners whom you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or do they have a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book, so they are upon clear evidence from it?" Rather, the wrongdoers promise one another nothing but delusion.

41. Surely, Allah holds the heavens and the earth lest they cease; and if they were to cease, no one could hold them after Him. Truly, He is Forbearing, Forgiving.

42. And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would surely be more guided than any of the previous communities; yet when a warner came to them, it increased them in nothing but aversion.

43. Arrogance on earth and evil plotting; but the evil plot encompasses none except its own people. Then do they await anything but the precedent of the former peoples? Yet you will never find any change in Allah's precedent, nor will you ever find any alteration in Allah's precedent.

44. Have they not traveled on earth and observed how was the end of those before them, though they were greater than them in strength? And Allah is not such that anything in the heavens or on earth could frustrate Him. Truly, He is Knowing, Powerful.

45. And if Allah were to seize people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon its surface any creature; but He delays them until an appointed term. Then when their term comes, indeed, Allah is ever Seeing of His servants.
