In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. Ta. Seen. Meem.

2. These are the Verses of the clear Book.

3. You might nearly destroy yourself with grief because they do not become believers.

4. If We willed, We could send down upon them a sign from the sky, so their necks would immediately bow humbled before it.

5. And no new reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.

6. They have certainly denied; so there will come to them the news of that which they used to mock.

7. Have they not observed the earth — how many noble kinds We have caused to grow in it?

8. Truly, in that is a Sign; yet most of them are not believers.

9. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

10. And when your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrongdoing people.

11. The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"

12. He said, "My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.

13. And my breast tightens, and my tongue does not move freely; so send for Aaron.

14. And they have a charge against me; thus I fear that they will kill me."

15. He said, "Certainly not. Go, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, listening.

16. So go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds.

17. Send with us the Children of Israel.'"

18. Pharaoh said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?

19. And you committed the deed which you committed, and you were of the ungrateful."

20. He said, "I did it then, while I was of those astray.

21. So I fled from you when I feared you; then my Lord granted me judgment and made me among the Messengers.

22. And is this a favor with which you reproach me — that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"

23. Pharaoh said, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"

24. He said, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, if you should be certain."

25. Pharaoh said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"

26. He said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your earliest forefathers."

27. Pharaoh said, "Certainly, your messenger who has been sent to you is mad."

28. He said, "The Lord of the east and the west and whatever is between them, if you would reason."

29. Pharaoh said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely make you among those imprisoned."

30. He said, "Even if I have brought you something clear?"

31. Pharaoh said, "Then bring it, if you are among the truthful."

32. So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a manifest serpent.

33. And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to the beholders.

34. Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, "Certainly, this is a learned magician.

35. He intends to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you command?"

36. They said, "Postpone him and his brother, and send gatherers into the cities.

37. Who will bring you every learned magician."

38. So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a known day.

39. And it was said to the people, "Will you assemble?

40. So that we may follow the magicians if they are the victors."

41. So when the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh, "Will there be a reward for us if we are the victorious?"

42. He said, "Yes, and surely, you will then be among those brought near."

43. Moses said to them, "Cast whatever you will cast."

44. So they cast their ropes and their staffs, and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, certainly, it is we who are the victorious."

45. Then Moses cast his staff, and behold, it swallowed up what they fabricated.

46. So the magicians fell down prostrate.

47. They said, "We believe in the Lord of the worlds.

48. The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

49. Pharaoh said, "You have believed in him before I gave you permission; indeed, he is your chief who taught you magic, but you will surely come to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."

50. They said, "No harm; certainly, to our Lord we will return.

51. Indeed, we hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, for we were the first of the believers."

52. And We inspired Moses: "Set forth by night with My servants; surely, you will be pursued."

53. Then Pharaoh sent gatherers into the cities.

54. "These are indeed a small band.

55. And indeed, they have enraged us.

56. And indeed, we are all vigilant."

57. Thus We expelled them from gardens and springs.

58. And treasures and noble dwellings.

59. So it was; and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them.

60. Then they pursued them at sunrise.

61. And when the two groups saw each other, the companions of Moses said, "Surely, we are overtaken!"

62. He said, "No; indeed, with me is my Lord — He will guide me."

63. Then We inspired Moses: "Strike the sea with your staff." So it parted, and each portion became like a great mountain.

64. And We brought near the others there.

65. And We saved Moses and all those with him.

66. Then We drowned the others.

67. Surely, in that is a sign; yet most of them were not believers.

68. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

69. And recite to them the story of Abraham.

70. When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"

71. They said, "We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them."

72. He said, "Do they hear you when you call?

73. Or do they benefit you or harm?"

74. They said, "Rather, we found our fathers doing thus."

75. He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshiping.

76. You and your ancient forefathers?

77. Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds.

78. Who created me, and He guides me.

79. And Who feeds me and gives me drink.

80. And when I become ill, He heals me.

81. And Who causes me to die, then gives me life.

82. And Who, I hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment.

83. My Lord, grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.

84. And grant me a truthful reputation among later generations.

85. And make me among the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.

86. And forgive my father; indeed, he was among those astray.

87. And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.

88. The Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit.

89. Except one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."

90. And Paradise will be brought near to the reverent.

91. And Hellfire will be displayed to the deviators.

92. And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship.

93. Besides Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?"

94. Then they will be overturned into it — they and the deviators.

95. And the soldiers of Iblis, all together.

96. They will say, while disputing therein.

97. "By Allah, indeed we were clearly astray.

98. When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.

99. And none led us astray except the criminals.

100. Now we have no intercessors.

101. Nor any devoted friend.

102. If only we had another chance, we would be among the believers."

103. Surely, in that is a sign; yet most of them were not believers.

104. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

105. The people of Noah denied the messengers.

106. When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not be mindful?

107. Truly, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

108. So fear Allah and obey me.

109. And I do not ask you for any reward for it; my reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds.

110. So fear Allah and obey me."

111. They said, "Shall we believe in you, while the lowest people follow you?"

112. He said, "And what knowledge do I have of what they used to do?

113. Their account is only upon my Lord, if you could perceive.

114. And I am not one to drive away the believers.

115. I am only a clear warner."

116. They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be among those who are stoned."

117. He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.

118. So decide between me and them a decisive decision, and save me and those believers who are with me."

119. So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.

120. Then afterward, We drowned the remaining ones.

121. Truly, in that is a sign; yet most of them were not believers.

122. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

123. Aad denied the messengers.

124. When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?

125. Truly, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

126. So fear Allah and obey me.

127. And I do not ask you for any reward for it; my reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds.

128. Do you build upon every high place a monument, amusing yourselves?

129. And take for yourselves structures, that perhaps you may abide eternally.

130. And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.

131. So fear Allah and obey me.

132. And fear the One Who supplied you with what you know.

133. Who supplied you with livestock and sons.

134. And gardens and springs.

135. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day."

136. They said, "It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not among those who admonish.

137. This is nothing but the custom of the ancients.

138. And we will not be punished."

139. So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Truly, in that is a sign; yet most of them were not believers.

140. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

141. Thamud denied the messengers.

142. When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?

143. Truly, I am to you a trustworthy Messenger.

144. So fear Allah and obey me.

145. And I do not ask you for any reward for it; my reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds.

146. Will you be left secure in what is here?

147. In gardens and springs.

148. And crops and palm trees whose clusters are tender?

149. And you carve houses from the mountains, skillfully?

150. So fear Allah and obey me.

151. And do not obey the command of the transgressors.

152. Those who spread corruption on earth and do not reform.

153. They said, "You are only one of the affected by magic."

154. You are but a human like us; so bring a sign, if you are among the truthful."

155. He said, "This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn on a specified day.

156. And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a tremendous day seize you."

157. But they hamstrung her; then they became regretful.

158. So the punishment seized them; truly, in that is a sign, yet most of them were not believers.

159. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

160. The people of Lot denied the Messengers.

161. When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?

162. Truly, I am to you a trustworthy Messenger.

163. So fear Allah and obey me.

164. And I do not ask you for any reward for it; my reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds.

165. Do you approach males among mankind?

166. And you leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Rather, you are a transgressing people."

167. They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be among those expelled."

168. He said, "Truly, I am among those who detest your deed.

169. My Lord, save me and my family from what they do."

170. So We saved him and all his family.

171. Except an old woman among those who stayed behind.

172. Then We destroyed the others.

173. And We rained upon them a rain; evil was the rain of those who had been warned.

174. Truly, in that is a sign, yet most of them were not believers.

175. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

176. The companions of the thicket denied the Messengers.

177. When Shuayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?

178. Truly, I am to you a trustworthy Messenger.

179. So fear Allah and obey me.

180. And I do not ask you for any reward for it; my reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds.

181. Give full measure, and do not be among those who cause loss.

182. And weigh with the just balance.

183. And do not deprive people of their due, nor go about the earth spreading corruption.

184. And fear the One Who created you and the former generations."

185. They said, "You are only among those affected by magic.

186. And you are but a human like us, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.

187. So cause fragments of the sky to fall upon us, if you are among the truthful."

188. He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."

189. But they denied him; so the punishment of the day of the canopy seized them — indeed, it was the punishment of a tremendous day.

190. Truly, in that is a sign, yet most of them were not believers.

191. And indeed, your Lord — He is the Almighty, the Merciful.

192. And truly, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

193. The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down.

194. Upon your heart, that you may be among the warners.

195. In a clear Arabic tongue.

196. And truly, it is in the scriptures of the former peoples.

197. Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel know it?

198. And had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs.

199. And he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it.

200. Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the criminals.

201. They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.

202. So it will come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not.

203. Then they will say, "Are we to be granted respite?"

204. Do they then hasten Our punishment?

205. Have you considered, if We grant them enjoyment for years.

206. Then there comes to them that which they were promised.

207. What good will their enjoyment be to them?

208. And never did We destroy any town except that it had warners.

209. As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.

210. And the devils have not brought it down.

211. Nor is it fitting for them, nor are they able.

212. Truly, they are utterly excluded from hearing.

213. So do not invoke with Allah another god, lest you be among those punished.

214. And warn your nearest kin.

215. And lower your wing to those believers who follow you.

216. But if they disobey you, then say, "Truly, I am innocent of what you do."

217. And rely upon the Almighty, the Merciful.

218. Who sees you when you stand.

219. And your movements among those who prostrate.

220. Truly, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

221. Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?

222. They descend upon every sinful liar.

223. They listen eagerly — but most of them are liars.

224. And the poets — those astray follow them.

225. Do you not see that they wander aimlessly in every valley.

226. And that they say what they do not do?

227. Except those who believe, do righteous deeds, remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they have been wronged; and those who do wrong will come to know to what destination they will return.
