In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
1. The command of Allah has come, so do not hasten it; glory be to Him, and exalted is He above what they associate.
2. He sends down the angels with the Spirit by His command upon whom He wills of His servants: "Warn that there is no god except Me, so fear Me."
3. He created the heavens and the earth in truth; exalted is He above what they associate.
4. He created the human being from a drop, yet behold, he is an open disputant.
5. And the cattle — He created them; for you in them is warmth and benefits, and from them you eat.
6. And for you in them is beauty when you bring them home and when you take them out to pasture.
7. And they carry your burdens to a land you could not have reached except with great hardship; indeed, your Lord is surely Kind, Merciful.
8. And horses, mules, and donkeys — for you to ride and as adornment; and He creates what you do not know.
9. And upon Allah is the direction of the path, and among them is one crooked; and if He willed, He would have guided you all together.
10. He is the One Who sends down water from the sky; from it is drink for you, and from it grows vegetation in which you pasture.
11. With it He causes to grow for you crops, olives, date-palms, grapevines, and from all fruits; indeed, in that is a sign for a people who reflect.
12. And He has subjected for you the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected by His command; surely, in that are signs for a people who reason.
13. And whatever He has multiplied for you on earth of varying colors; surely, in that is a sign for a people who remember.
14. And He is the One Who subjected the sea, that you may eat from it tender meat, and extract from it ornaments that you wear; and you see the ships plowing through it, and that you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
15. And He cast into the earth firm mountains, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, that perhaps you may be guided.
16. And landmarks; and by the stars they are guided.
17. Is He Who creates like one who does not create? Will you not then remember?
18. And if you should count the blessings of Allah, you could not enumerate them; truly, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
19. And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal.
20. And those whom they invoke besides Allah create nothing, and they themselves are created.
21. Dead, not living; and they perceive not when they will be resurrected.
22. Your God is one God; but those who do not believe in the Hereafter — their hearts deny, and they are arrogant.
23. Undoubtedly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal; truly, He does not love the arrogant.
24. And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Legends of the ancients."
25. That they may bear their burdens completely on the Day of Resurrection, and some of the burdens of those whom they mislead without knowledge; surely, evil is what they bear.
26. Those before them had plotted, so Allah struck their building at its foundations, and the roof fell upon them from above, and the punishment came upon them from where they did not perceive.
27. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My partners concerning whom you used to oppose?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Truly, disgrace and evil this day are upon the disbelievers".
28. Those whom the angels take in death while they wrong themselves; then they will offer submission, "We were not doing any evil." Rather, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do.
29. So enter the gates of Hell, abiding eternally in it; surely, wretched is the abode of the arrogant.
30. And it will be said to those mindful of Allah, "What has your Lord sent down?" They will say, "Good." For those who do good in this world is goodness; and surely, the abode of the Hereafter is better — and excellent indeed is the abode of the reverent.
31. Gardens of Eden, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow; they will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward those mindful of Him.
32. Those whom the angels take in death, being pure; they say, "Peace be upon you; enter Paradise for what you used to do."
33. Do they await except that the angels should come to them, or that the command of your Lord should come? Thus did those before them; and Allah did not wrong them, but they used to wrong themselves.
34. So the evil consequences of what they did afflicted them, and they were encompassed by that which they used to mock.
35. And those who associate others with Allah say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have worshiped anything besides Him — neither we nor our fathers — nor would we have forbidden anything without His command." Thus did those before them; so is there upon the messengers anything but clear conveyance?
36. And certainly We sent into every nation a messenger: "Worship Allah and avoid false gods." Among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom misguidance was decreed; so travel through the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied.
37. Even if you eagerly desire their guidance, surely Allah does not guide those whom He leaves astray; and for them there are no helpers.
38. And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths: "Allah will not resurrect one who dies." Yes — this is a true promise binding upon Him, but most people do not know.
39. So that He may make clear to them that wherein they differ, and so that those who disbelieved may know that they were liars.
40. Our word to a thing, when We intend it, is only that We say to it, "Be," and it is.
41. And those who emigrated for Allah's sake after they had been wronged — We will surely settle them in a good place in this world; and the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew.
42. Those who endured patiently and upon their Lord they rely.
43. And We did not send before you except men to whom We revealed; so ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know.
44. With clear proofs and scriptures. And We have sent down to you the Reminder, that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them, and that perhaps they may reflect.
45. Then do those who plot evil deeds feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive?
46. Or that He will not seize them during their going to and fro, and they cannot escape?
47. Or that He will not seize them gradually with fear? Yet surely your Lord is Kind, Merciful.
48. Have they not observed all things that Allah has created, how their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah, while they are humble?
49. And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever creature is on the earth, and the angels — and they are not arrogant.
50. They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.
51. And Allah has said, "Do not take two gods, two; He is only One God, so fear Me alone."
52. And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him belongs everlasting devotion. Will you then fear other than Allah?
53. And whatever blessing you have, it is from Allah; then, when harm touches you, to Him you cry aloud in distress.
54. Then, when He removes the harm from you, behold, a group among you associates others with their Lord.
55. So that they may deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for soon you will know.
56. And they assign a portion of what We have provided them — to that which they do not know. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to fabricate.
57. And they attribute daughters to Allah — glory be to Him — while for themselves is what they desire.
58. And when one of them is given news of a female, his face darkens, and he is filled with suppressed anguish.
59. He hides himself from the people because of the bad news he has received: shall he keep her in humiliation, or bury her in the dust? Unquestionably, evil is what they judge.
60. For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the worst example; and for Allah is the highest example — and He is the Almighty, the Wise.
61. And if Allah were to seize the people for their wrongdoing, He would not leave upon it any creature; but He delays them until an appointed term. Then, when their term comes, they will not delay it by an hour, nor will they advance it.
62. And they attribute to Allah what they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie that theirs will be the best. Undoubtedly, theirs will be the Fire, and they will be hastened to it.
63. By Allah, We certainly sent messengers to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them; so he is their ally today, and for them is a painful punishment.
64. And We have not sent down to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that wherein they differed, and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
65. And Allah has sent down water from the sky, and thereby given life to the earth after its death. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who hear.
66. And certainly, for you in the livestock is a lesson: We give you drink from what is in their bellies — between excretion and blood — pure milk, palatable to those who drink.
67. And from the fruits of palm trees and grapevines, you take sweet drink and good provision; certainly, in that is a sign for a people who reason.
68. And your Lord inspired the bee: "Take dwellings from the mountains, and from the trees, and from what they construct.
69. Then eat from all the fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy." There emerges from their bellies a drink of varying colors, in it is healing for people; certainly, in that is a sign for a people who reflect.
70. And Allah created you; then He causes you to die; and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit age, so that he knows nothing after having knowledge. Certainly, Allah is Knowing, Powerful.
71. And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision; yet those who have been favored do not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess, so that they would be equal therein. Then is it the favor of Allah they deny?
72. And Allah has made for you spouses from yourselves, and has made for you from your spouses children and grandchildren, and has provided you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?
73. And they worship besides Allah that which possesses no provision for them from the heavens and the earth at all, nor are they capable.
74. So do not set forth examples for Allah; certainly, Allah knows and you do not know.
75. Allah sets forth an example: a slave owned, unable to do anything, and one whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and openly. Are they equal? Praise belongs to Allah; but most of them do not know.
76. And Allah sets forth an example of two men: one of them dumb, unable to do anything, and he is a burden upon his master; wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, and is upon a straight path?
77. And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth; and the matter of the Hour is not but as the blink of an eye, or even nearer. Certainly, Allah is Powerful over all things.
78. Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers knowing nothing, and He made for you hearing, sight, and hearts, that you might be grateful.
79. Have they not observed the birds, subjected in the midst of the sky? None holds them except Allah; surely in that are signs for a people who believe.
80. And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest, and has made for you from the hides of livestock dwellings, which you find light on the day of your travel and the day of your encampment; and from their wool, fur, and hair, furnishings and enjoyment for a time.
81. And Allah has made for you, from what He created, shade; and has made for you shelters in the mountains; and has made for you garments protecting you from heat, and garments protecting you from your warfare. Thus does He complete His favor upon you, that you might submit.
82. But if they turn away, then upon you is only the clear conveyance.
83. They recognize the favor of Allah, then they deny it; and most of them are disbelievers.
84. And the Day We raise from every nation a witness; then permission will not be given to those who disbelieved, nor will they be allowed to make amends.
85. And when those who did wrong see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be granted respite.
86. And when those who associated others with Allah see their associates, they will say, "Our Lord, these are our associates whom we used to invoke besides You." But they will cast back at them the word, "Truly, you are liars."
87. And they will offer submission to Allah on that Day; and lost from them will be what they used to fabricate.
88. Those who disbelieved and hindered from the way of Allah — We will increase them in punishment upon punishment, because they used to spread corruption.
89. And the Day We raise in every nation a witness against them from among themselves, and We bring you as a witness against these; and We sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things, and as guidance, mercy, and glad tidings for the Muslims.
90. Truly, Allah commands justice, excellence, and giving to relatives; and He forbids indecency, wrongdoing, and oppression. He admonishes you, so that you may take heed.
91. And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have made a covenant, and do not break oaths after confirming them, having made Allah your guarantor. Truly, Allah knows what you do.
92. And do not be like she who unraveled her yarn into strands after it had been firmly spun, taking your oaths as means of deceit among yourselves, lest one community gain advantage over another. Allah only tests you by it; and He will surely clarify for you on the Day of Resurrection that wherein you used to differ.
93. And had Allah willed, He would have made you one community; but He lets go astray whom He wills, and He guides whom He wills; and you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.
94. And do not take your oaths as means of deceit among yourselves, lest a foot slip after it was firmly planted, and you taste evil for having hindered from the way of Allah; and for you is a great punishment.
95. And do not exchange the covenant of Allah for a small price; truly, what is with Allah is better for you, if you only knew.
96. Whatever is with you will perish, and whatever is with Allah remains; and We will surely reward those who were patient their recompense according to the best of what they used to do.
97. Whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer, We shall surely grant him a good life; and We shall surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
98. So when you read the Quran, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.
99. Certainly, he has no authority over those who believe and upon their Lord rely.
100. His authority is only over those who take him as an ally, and those who, through him, associate others with Allah.
101. And when We substitute one verse in place of another — and Allah knows best what He sends down — they say, "You are merely inventing." Rather, most of them do not know.
102. Say, "The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord in truth, to strengthen those who believe, and as guidance and good tidings for those who submit."
103. And certainly We know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches him." The tongue of the one they falsely attribute is foreign, while this is a clear Arabic tongue.
104. Those who do not believe in the verses of Allah — Allah does not guide them; and for them is a painful punishment.
105. Only those who do not believe in the verses of Allah fabricate falsehood; and it is they who are the liars.
106. Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief — except one who is compelled while his heart remains secure in faith — but whoever willingly opens his breast to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah; and for them is a great punishment.
107. That is because they preferred the life of this world over the Hereafter, and because Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.
108. Those are the ones upon whose hearts, hearing, and sight Allah has set a seal; and those — they are the heedless.
109. Without doubt, it is they who, in the Hereafter, are the losers.
110. Then surely your Lord, for those who emigrated after they had been persecuted, then struggled and were patient — surely your Lord, after that, is Forgiving, Merciful.
111. On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully recompensed for what it did; and they will not be wronged.
112. And Allah presents an example: a town that was secure and tranquil, its provision coming abundantly from every place; but it denied the favors of Allah, so Allah made it taste the garment of hunger and fear, because of what they used to do.
113. And certainly there had come to them a messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so the punishment seized them while they were wrongdoers.
114. So eat of what Allah has provided you, lawful and good; and be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is Him you worship.
115. He has only forbidden to you carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is compelled, neither desiring nor transgressing — then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
116. And do not say concerning what your tongues falsely describe, "This is lawful and this is forbidden," inventing lies against Allah. Surely those who invent lies against Allah will not succeed.
117. A brief enjoyment; and for them is a painful punishment.
118. And upon those who were Jews, We prohibited what We have related to you before; and We did not wrong them, but they were wronging themselves.
119. Then surely your Lord, for those who committed evil out of ignorance, then repented after that and reformed — surely your Lord thereafter is Forgiving, Merciful.
120. Abraham was a nation, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth; and he was not among those who associate others with Allah.
121. Grateful for His favors; He chose him and guided him to a straight path.
122. And We granted him good in this world; and surely in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.
123. Then We revealed to you: "Follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth"; and he was not among those who associate others with Allah.
124. The Sabbath was only appointed upon those who differed concerning it; and surely your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding that over which they used to differ.
125. Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in the best manner; surely your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of the rightly guided.
126. And if you punish, then punish with the like of that with which you were afflicted; but if you are patient, it is surely better for those who are patient.
127. And be patient, and your patience is only through Allah; and do not grieve over them, nor be distressed by what they plot.
128. Surely Allah is with those who are mindful of Him and those who are doers of good.
