In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. By the sky full of constellations.

2. And by the promised Day.

3. And by the witness and what is witnessed.

4. Destroyed were the people of the trench.

5. The fire, blazing fiercely with fuel.

6. When they sat around it.

7. Watching closely what they did to the believers.

8. They resented them only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.

9. To Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Witness over all things.

10. Certainly, those who persecuted believing men and women, and then did not repent, will suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning fire.

11. But those who believe and do righteous deeds will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the supreme triumph.

12. Surely, the onslaught of your Lord is severe.

13. It is He who initiates and repeats.

14. And He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving.

15. Lord of the Glorious Throne.

16. Doer of whatever He wills.

17. Has the story of the armies reached you.

18. Of Pharaoh and Thamud?

19. Yet those who disbelieve persist in denial.

20. While Allah surrounds them completely.

21. Rather, this is a glorious Quran.

22. Inscribed on a preserved Tablet.
