In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. He frowned and turned away.

2. Because the blind man came to him.

3. But how could you know? Perhaps he would purify himself.

4. Or be reminded, and the reminder would benefit him.

5. As for the one who feels self-sufficient.

6. You give him your full attention.

7. Though it is not your responsibility if he does not purify himself.

8. But as for the one who eagerly comes to you.

9. And who fears Allah.

10. You turn away from him, distracted.

11. No! This is truly a reminder.

12. So whoever wishes may remember it.

13. Recorded in honored pages.

14. Exalted and purified.

15. By the hands of scribes.

16. Honorable and righteous.

17. Perish man — how ungrateful he is!

18. From what substance did He create him?

19. From a tiny drop He created him, then proportioned him.

20. Then He made the path easy for him.

21. Then He causes him to die and places him in the grave.

22. Then, when He wills, He will raise him again.

23. No! He has not yet fulfilled what He commanded him.

24. So let the human being consider his food.

25. How We pour down water abundantly.

26. Then split the earth wide open.

27. And cause grain to grow within it.

28. And grapes and fresh vegetation.

29. And olives and date palms.

30. And lush gardens.

31. And fruits and grasses.

32. As provision for you and your livestock.

33. Then, when the Deafening Blast comes.

34. On that Day, a person will flee from his own brother.

35. And from his mother and his father.

36. And from his spouse and his children.

37. On that Day, each person will have enough concern of his own.

38. Some faces on that Day will be radiant.

39. Laughing, rejoicing.

40. And other faces on that Day will be covered with dust.

41. Darkness will overshadow them.

42. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
