In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. By those who wrench out violently.

2. And those who draw out gently.

3. And those who glide swiftly.

4. Racing ahead eagerly.

5. And those who direct matters.

6. On the Day when the first blast shakes everything.

7. Followed closely by the second.

8. Hearts on that Day will tremble.

9. Their eyes humbled and downcast.

10. They say, "Will we really be restored to our former state?

11. Even after we've become crumbling bones?"

12. They say, "Then that return would be a losing one."

13. Yet it will only take a single shout.

14. And suddenly they will be awake.

15. Has the story of Moses reached you?

16. When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa.

17. "Go to Pharaoh — he has truly crossed all limits.

18. And say, 'Would you be willing to purify yourself.

19. And let me guide you to your Lord, so you may fear Him?'"

20. Then Moses showed him the great miracle.

21. But Pharaoh denied it and disobeyed.

22. Then turned away, striving against the truth.

23. He gathered his people and proclaimed loudly.

24. Saying, "I am your supreme lord!"

25. So Allah seized him with exemplary punishment in the Hereafter and the first life.

26. Surely, in this is a lesson for whoever fears Allah.

27. Are you harder to create, or is the sky? He built it.

28. He raised its height and perfected it.

29. He darkened its night and brought forth its daylight.

30. And after that, He spread out the earth.

31. Bringing forth from it water and pasture.

32. And He firmly set the mountains.

33. All as provision for you and your livestock.

34. Then, when the overwhelming calamity arrives.

35. On that Day, man will remember what he strove for.

36. And Hellfire will be displayed clearly for whoever can see.

37. Then, as for whoever transgressed all bounds.

38. And preferred the life of this world.

39. Hellfire will surely be their home.

40. But as for whoever feared standing before their Lord, and restrained their soul from desires.

41. Paradise will surely be their home.

42. They ask you about the Hour, "When will it arrive?"

43. But how could you possibly know its time?

44. Its knowledge rests only with your Lord.

45. You are simply a warner to those who fear it.

46. On the Day they finally see it, it will seem as though they had lingered no longer than a single evening, or its morning.
