In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. What are they questioning one another about?

2. About the momentous news.

3. Over which they disagree.

4. Soon they will surely know.

5. Again, soon they will surely know.

6. Did We not make the earth a resting place?

7. And the mountains as firm pegs.

8. And We created you in pairs.

9. And We made your sleep for rest.

10. And We made the night as a covering.

11. And We made the day for seeking livelihood.

12. And We built above you seven strong ones.

13. And We made a blazing lamp.

14. And We sent down from the rain-laden clouds abundant water.

15. So that We may bring forth grain and vegetation.

16. And gardens thickly intertwined.

17. Truly, the Day of Judgment is an appointed time.

18. The Day the trumpet is blown, and you will come forth in crowds.

19. And the sky is opened, becoming gateways.

20. And the mountains are set in motion, becoming like a mirage.

21. Truly, Hellfire lies in wait.

22. A destination for those who transgress.

23. Remaining therein for ages.

24. There they will taste neither coolness nor drink.

25. Except boiling water and an intensely cold, foul fluid.

26. A fitting repayment.

27. For they never expected to face judgment.

28. And utterly rejected Our revelations.

29. We have enumerated everything in a record.

30. So taste, for We will only increase you in punishment.

31. Truly, for the righteous there is triumph.

32. Gardens and vineyards.

33. And full-breasted maidens of equal age.

34. And cups filled to the brim.

35. There they will hear neither idle talk nor falsehood.

36. A reward from your Lord, a sufficient gift.

37. From the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them — the Most Merciful. None will have power to address Him.

38. On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in rows, none will speak except those whom the Most Merciful permits, and who speak rightly.

39. That Day is the ultimate truth. So whoever wills, let him take a path back to his Lord.

40. Truly, We have warned you of an imminent punishment — the Day when each person will see what their own hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will cry out, "Oh, if only I were dust!"
