In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. O you wrapped in your cloak.

2. Arise and warn.

3. Magnify your Lord.

4. Purify your garments.

5. Shun all impurity.

6. And do not give, expecting more in return.

7. And patiently endure for your Lord.

8. Then, when the trumpet is sounded.

9. That Day will be a harsh day.

10. Far from easy for those who deny the truth.

11. Leave Me alone with the one I created by Myself.

12. To whom I granted abundant wealth.

13. And children by his side.

14. And made life smooth and comfortable for him.

15. Yet he still desires that I give him more.

16. Certainly not! He stubbornly rejects Our revelations.

17. Soon I will burden him with overwhelming torment.

18. He thought deeply and plotted.

19. May he perish for how he plotted!

20. Again, may he perish for how he plotted!

21. Then he looked around.

22. Then frowned and scowled.

23. Then turned away arrogantly.

24. And said, "This is nothing but magic passed down.

25. This is merely human speech."

26. Soon I will cast him into Saqar.

27. And what can make you understand what Saqar is?

28. It spares nothing and leaves nothing behind.

29. Scorching for humans.

30. Over it are nineteen keepers.

31. We have appointed only angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have set their number only as a test for those who disbelieve — so that those given the Scripture may become certain, and those who believe may increase in faith, and neither those given the Scripture nor the believers will have any doubt, and so that those whose hearts harbor sickness and the disbelievers may say, "What does Allah intend by this example?" Thus Allah leaves astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. None knows your Lord's forces except Him. This is nothing but a reminder for human beings.

32. Certainly not! By the moon.

33. By the night as it departs.

34. And by the morning as it brightens.

35. Surely, this is one of the greatest.

36. A warning to all humanity.

37. To whoever among you wishes to advance or remain behind.

38. Every soul is held hostage by what it has earned.

39. Except the companions of the right.

40. Who will be in Gardens, asking one another.

41. About the guilty ones.

42. "What led you into Saqar?"

43. They will reply, "We were not among those who prayed.

44. Nor did we feed the poor.

45. We used to indulge in vain talk with those who indulged.

46. And we denied the Day of Judgment.

47. Until certainty came upon us."

48. So no intercession of any intercessors will benefit them.

49. Then what is wrong with them, that they turn away from this reminder.

50. As if they were frightened donkeys.

51. Fleeing from a lion.

52. Rather, each one of them desires to be given open scrolls.

53. Certainly not! The truth is, they do not fear the Hereafter.

54. Truly, this is a reminder.

55. So whoever wills, let him take heed.

56. But they will not remember, unless Allah wills. He is worthy of reverence and worthy of forgiveness.
