In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. Certainly, We sent Noah to his people, saying, "Warn your people before a painful punishment comes to them."

2. He said, "My people, I am truly a clear warner to you.

3. Worship Allah, be mindful of Him, and obey me.

4. He will forgive your sins and grant you respite until an appointed time. When Allah's appointed time arrives, it cannot be delayed — if only you knew."

5. Noah said, "My Lord, I have called my people night and day.

6. But my calling only increased their flight.

7. Every time I invited them, so You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted stubbornly, and grew exceedingly arrogant.

8. Then I called them openly.

9. Then I proclaimed to them publicly, and I spoke to them privately.

10. I said, 'Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is truly ever-forgiving.

11. He will send abundant rain from the sky upon you.

12. And provide you with wealth and children, and grant you gardens and flowing rivers.

13. What is the matter with you, that you do not show reverence toward Allah's majesty?

14. When He has created you in stages?

15. Do you not see how Allah created seven heavens, one above another.

16. And placed the moon within them as a light, and made the sun a radiant lamp?

17. Allah caused you to grow forth from the earth like plants.

18. Then He will return you into it, and later bring you forth again.

19. Allah has spread out the earth for you.

20. So you may travel along its wide pathways.'"

21. Noah said, "My Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and children only increase their ruin.

22. They devised a tremendous plot.

23. Saying, 'Never abandon your gods — never abandon Wadd, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr.'

24. They have led many astray. So do not increase the wrongdoers except in further misguidance."

25. Because of their sins, they were drowned and cast into the Fire, finding no helpers besides Allah.

26. Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave a single disbeliever upon the earth.

27. If You spare them, they will mislead Your servants and give birth only to wicked disbelievers.

28. My Lord, forgive me, my parents, whoever enters my house as a believer, and all believing men and women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in utter destruction."
