In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. The Inevitable Reality!

2. What is the Inevitable Reality?

3. And what can make you understand what the Inevitable Reality is?

4. Thamud and Aad denied the Striking Calamity.

5. As for Thamud, they were destroyed by an overwhelming blast.

6. And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a furious, roaring wind.

7. He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days without relief, until you could see the people lying lifeless, as if they were hollow trunks of fallen palm trees.

8. Do you see any trace of them left behind?

9. Pharaoh came, and those before him, and the overturned cities, all committing grave sins.

10. They disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a crushing grip.

11. Surely, when the waters surged violently, We carried you upon the sailing Ark.

12. To make it a reminder for you, and so attentive ears may remember.

13. Then, when the Trumpet is blown — a single blast.

14. And the earth and mountains are lifted and crushed with a single blow.

15. On that Day, the Great Event will occur.

16. The sky will split apart, becoming frail on that Day.

17. The angels will stand at its edges, and eight will carry the Throne of your Lord above them on that Day.

18. On that Day, you will be presented — nothing hidden about you will remain concealed.

19. As for the one given his record in his right hand, he will say joyfully, "Here, read my record!

20. I was certain I would face my reckoning!"

21. So he will enjoy a life of pure delight.

22. In a lofty Garden.

23. With fruits hanging within easy reach.

24. "Eat and drink joyfully for what you did in days gone by!"

25. But as for the one given his record in his left hand, he will cry out, "If only I had never been given my record.

26. And never known my reckoning!

27. If only death had been the end of me!

28. My wealth has done me no good.

29. My power has vanished from me!"

30. "Seize him and shackle him.

31. Then cast him into the blazing Fire!

32. Then bind him in a chain seventy cubits long!

33. For he did not believe in Allah, the Most Great.

34. Nor did he encourage feeding the poor.

35. So today he has no devoted friend here.

36. Nor any food except filth.

37. Which none but the sinful will eat."

38. So I swear by all that you see.

39. And all that you do not see.

40. Truly, this is the word of a noble messenger.

41. It is not the word of a poet — how little you believe!

42. Nor is it the word of a fortune-teller — how little you reflect!

43. It is a revelation sent down from the Lord of all worlds.

44. Had he falsely attributed some sayings to Us.

45. We would have seized him by the right hand.

46. Then severed his lifeline.

47. And none of you could have shielded him from Us.

48. Truly, this is a reminder for those mindful of Allah.

49. And We surely know that some among you deny it.

50. And truly, it will be a source of bitter regret for the disbelievers.

51. And truly, it is the absolute truth.

52. So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
