In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. Everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah — the Sovereign, the Most Pure, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

2. He is the One Who sent among the unlettered people a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His revelations, purifying them, and teaching them the Scripture and wisdom — though before this, they were clearly astray.

3. And to others among them who have not yet joined them — He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.

4. This is Allah's favor, which He grants to whomever He wills. Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

5. The example of those entrusted with the Torah, who then failed to uphold it, is like a donkey carrying books. Miserable indeed is the example of those who deny Allah's revelations. Allah does not guide unjust people.

6. Say, "O you who follow Judaism, if you claim that you alone are Allah's allies, apart from all other people, then wish for death, if you are truthful."

7. But they will never wish for it, because of what their own hands have sent ahead. Allah knows well those who do wrong.

8. Say, "The death you flee from will surely meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of all you used to do."

9. O you who believe, when the call to prayer is made on Friday, hurry toward the remembrance of Allah and leave off all business. That is better for you, if only you knew.

10. Then, when the prayer is concluded, disperse throughout the land and seek Allah's bounty. And remember Allah often, so that you may succeed.

11. Yet whenever they see some trade or amusement, they rush toward it and leave you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than amusement or trade. Allah is the best of providers."
