In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
1. The Hour draws near, and the moon has split.
2. Yet whenever they see a sign, they turn away, saying, "This is just persistent magic."
3. They deny the truth and follow their own desires — but every matter will reach its appointed end.
4. Certainly, news has come to them containing a strong deterrent.
5. Profound wisdom — but the warnings do not avail.
6. So turn away from them. The Day the Caller will call to something dreadful.
7. Their eyes downcast, they will emerge from their graves like scattered locusts.
8. Rushing toward the Caller, the disbelievers will cry, "This is a terrible day!"
9. Before them, Noah's people also denied. They rejected Our servant, calling him insane, and harshly drove him away.
10. So he called out to his Lord, "I am overwhelmed — help me!"
11. Then We opened the gates of heaven with pouring rain.
12. And caused the earth to burst forth with springs, until the waters met according to a destined decree.
13. And We carried him upon a vessel made of planks and nails.
14. Sailing under Our watchful eyes — a reward for him who was rejected.
15. And surely, We left this as a sign. So is there anyone who will take heed?
16. How severe were My punishment and warnings!
17. We have made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will take heed?
18. The people of Aad also denied — how severe were My punishment and warnings!
19. We unleashed upon them a furious wind on a day of relentless disaster.
20. Tearing people away as if they were uprooted palm trunks.
21. How severe were My punishment and warnings!
22. We have made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will take heed?
23. Thamud rejected the warnings.
24. They said, "Should we follow a single human from among us? Then surely we would be lost in madness and error!
25. Has the message been sent down to him alone out of all of us? No — he is a wicked liar!"
26. Tomorrow they will know who the wicked liar is.
27. We will send the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them closely and be patient.
28. And inform them that the water is to be shared between them, each drinking turn attended.
29. But they called their companion, who took action and hamstrung her.
30. How terrible then was My punishment and My warnings!
31. We sent upon them a single mighty blast, and they became like dry twigs gathered for a fence.
32. We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember — so is there anyone who will take heed?
33. The people of Lot also rejected the warnings.
34. We unleashed upon them a storm of stones, except for Lot's family — We saved them at dawn.
35. As a grace from Us; thus do We reward those who are grateful.
36. He had warned them of Our crushing onslaught, but they disputed the warnings.
37. They even tried to tempt him concerning his guests, so We blinded their eyes. Taste then My punishment and My warnings!
38. Early in the morning, an enduring punishment overtook them.
39. Taste then My punishment and My warnings!
40. We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember — so is there anyone who will take heed?
41. And warnings came to Pharaoh's people as well.
42. They rejected all Our signs, so We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty and All-Powerful.
43. Are your disbelievers better than those before them? Or have you been granted immunity in the scriptures?
44. Or do they say, "We are a united group, able to prevail"?
45. The assembly will be defeated, and they will turn and flee.
46. Rather, the Hour is their appointed time — and the Hour will be far more dreadful and bitter.
47. Truly, the guilty are lost in error and insanity.
48. On the Day they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it will be said, "Taste the touch of Hell!"
49. Surely, We created everything according to measure.
50. And Our command is but one, like the blink of an eye.
51. We have destroyed others like you before — so is there anyone who will take heed?
52. Everything they have done is recorded in the scriptures.
53. Every small and great deed is written down.
54. The righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers.
55. In a seat of truth, in the presence of an Almighty King.
