In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. By those scattering far and wide.

2. And those bearing heavy loads.

3. And those gliding smoothly.

4. And those distributing commands.

5. What you are promised is surely true.

6. And Judgment will certainly come to pass.

7. By the sky woven with pathways.

8. You are in conflicting claims.

9. Turned away from it is whoever chooses to stray.

10. Cursed are those who guess blindly.

11. Those who wander heedlessly in ignorance.

12. Asking mockingly, "When will this Day of Judgment come?"

13. It will be the Day they are tormented over the Fire.

14. "Taste your torment! This is what you impatiently demanded."

15. Surely, the righteous will dwell amid gardens and springs.

16. Joyfully receiving what their Lord grants them — for before this, they were truly doers of good.

17. They slept only little during the night.

18. And at dawn, they would humbly seek forgiveness.

19. And in their wealth was a rightful share for the beggar and the deprived.

20. On earth are signs for those with firm faith.

21. And within yourselves as well — will you not then see?

22. And in the heavens is your provision and all that you are promised.

23. By the Lord of the sky and the earth, it is surely the truth — as certain as the fact that you speak.

24. Has the story of Abraham's honored guests reached you?

25. When they entered upon him, they said, "Peace." He replied, "Peace — a people unknown."

26. Then he quietly went to his family, and brought a fat calf.

27. He placed it before them, and said, "Will you not eat?"

28. Then he felt a hidden fear of them. They reassured him, "Do not be afraid," and they gave him glad tidings of a knowledgeable son.

29. His wife approached, crying out in astonishment, striking her face, saying, "But I am a barren old woman!"

30. They replied, "Thus has your Lord decreed. He alone is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing."

31. Abraham asked, "Then what is your mission, O messengers?"

32. They replied, "We have been sent to a criminal people.

33. To rain down upon them stones of baked clay.

34. Marked by your Lord for the extravagant."

35. So We brought out all the believers from there.

36. But We found there only one household of Muslims.

37. And We left there a clear sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

38. And in Moses — when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.

39. But Pharaoh turned away, relying on his strength, and said, "A magician or a madman."

40. So We seized him and his forces, casting them into the sea, while he was blameworthy.

41. And in the people of Aad — when We unleashed upon them the barren wind.

42. It spared nothing it touched, reducing everything like rubble.

43. And in Thamud — when they were told, "Enjoy yourselves for a short while."

44. So they defied their Lord's command, so the thunderbolt struck them as they watched.

45. They could neither get up nor defend themselves.

46. And the people of Noah before them — they too were defiantly disobedient.

47. And the sky — We built it with power, and We are surely expanding it.

48. And the earth — We spread it out; how excellent are We in spreading!

49. And of all things We created pairs, so that you may reflect.

50. So flee toward Allah — I am a clear warner to you from Him.

51. And do not set up another god alongside Allah — I am a clear warner to you from Him.

52. Likewise, whenever a messenger came to those before them, they said, "A magician or a madman!"

53. Did they advise one another to say this? No — they are a rebellious people.

54. So turn away from them — you are not to blame.

55. But continue to remind, for reminders benefit the believers.

56. I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.

57. I seek no provision from them, nor do I ask them to feed Me.

58. It is Allah Who is the Provider, the Lord of Strength, the Ever Mighty.

59. Those who do wrong will surely have a share of punishment like that of their predecessors — so let them not rush.

60. Then woe to those who disbelieve, because of the Day they have been promised.
