In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. By those lined up in perfect rows.

2. And those who sternly drive away.

3. And those who recite the Reminder.

4. Truly, your God is One.

5. Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and Lord of the sunrises.

6. We have adorned the nearest heaven with the beauty of stars.

7. And guarded it against every rebellious devil.

8. They cannot eavesdrop on the highest assembly, but are pelted from every side.

9. Driven away — and theirs is a lasting torment.

10. Except one who snatches a quick word, only to be pursued by a piercing flame.

11. So ask them: Are they harder to create, or those whom We created? Surely, We created them from sticky clay.

12. Yet you marvel, while they mock.

13. When reminded, they pay no heed.

14. And when they see a sign, they ridicule it.

15. Saying, "This is nothing but clear magic.

16. When we have died and become dust and bones, will we really be raised again?

17. And our forefathers too?"

18. Say, "Yes, and you will be utterly humbled."

19. It will be only a single blast, and suddenly, they will be staring in shock.

20. They will cry, "Oh, woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!"

21. This is the Day of Decision, which you used to deny.

22. Gather those who did wrong, along with their kind, and whatever they worshiped.

23. Besides Allah, and lead them to the path of Hellfire.

24. And stop them — they will be questioned.

25. "Why do you not help each other now?"

26. But today, they surrender completely.

27. They will turn to one another, blaming each other.

28. They will say, "You used to approach us from the right."

29. The others will reply, "No, you yourselves refused to believe.

30. We had no authority over you; rather, you were a rebellious people.

31. Now our Lord's decree against us has come true — we will surely taste it.

32. We led you astray because we ourselves were astray."

33. On that Day, they will all share in the torment.

34. This is how We deal with the guilty.

35. Whenever it was said to them, "There is no god but Allah," they would arrogantly refuse.

36. Saying, "Should we abandon our gods for a mad poet?"

37. Rather, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the messengers.

38. You will surely taste the painful punishment.

39. And you will be repaid only for what you used to do.

40. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

41. For them is a known provision.

42. Fruits — and they will be honored.

43. In Gardens of bliss.

44. Seated on couches, facing one another.

45. A cup of pure drink will be passed around among them.

46. Crystal-white, delicious to those who drink.

47. Free from harm, nor will it intoxicate them.

48. And with them will be companions of modest gaze, and lovely eyes.

49. As if they were well-preserved eggs.

50. Then, they will turn to one another, asking questions.

51. One among them will say, "I once had a companion.

52. Who used to ask, 'Do you really believe this?

53. That after we die and become dust and bones, we will truly be judged?'"

54. He will say, "Would you like to look?"

55. Then he will look down, and see him in the very midst of Hellfire.

56. He will say, "By Allah, you nearly dragged me down with you!

57. If not for my Lord's grace, I would surely have been among those brought here.

58. Now, will we never die again?

59. Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"

60. Truly, this is the supreme triumph!

61. For the like of this, let those who strive, strive.

62. Is this a better welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum?

63. We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.

64. It is a tree that grows from the very depths of Hellfire.

65. Its fruit is like the heads of devils.

66. They will surely eat from it, filling their bellies with it.

67. Then, on top of that, they will have a drink of boiling water.

68. Afterward, their return will be to Hellfire itself.

69. They found their forefathers astray.

70. So they rushed in their footsteps.

71. Most of the earlier generations had also gone astray before them.

72. Though We had sent warners among them.

73. See then, how terrible was the fate of those who were warned.

74. Except for the chosen servants of Allah.

75. Noah called out to Us, and how excellent are We in responding!

76. We saved him and his family from the great distress.

77. And We made his descendants those who remained.

78. We preserved his memory among later generations.

79. Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds.

80. This is how We reward those who do good.

81. He was truly one of Our believing servants.

82. Then We drowned all the others.

83. And indeed, among his kind was Abraham.

84. Who came to his Lord with a pure heart.

85. He said to his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?

86. Do you desire false gods instead of Allah?

87. What then do you think of the Lord of all the worlds?"

88. Then he cast a glance toward the stars.

89. And said, "I feel unwell."

90. So they turned away from him, and left.

91. Then he turned to their idols and said, "Will you not eat?

92. What's wrong with you, that you don't speak?"

93. Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand.

94. The people rushed toward him furiously.

95. He said, "Do you worship what you carve yourselves?

96. While Allah created you, and all that you make?"

97. They said, "Build a furnace for him, and throw him into the blazing fire!"

98. They plotted to harm him, but We made them the lowest.

99. He said, "I am going toward my Lord; He will surely guide me.

100. My Lord, grant me righteous offspring."

101. So We gave him good news of a forbearing son.

102. When the boy was old enough to work alongside him, Abraham said, "My dear son, I have seen in a dream, that I must sacrifice you. Tell me, what do you think?" He replied, "Father, do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me patient."

103. When they both submitted, and he laid him down on his forehead.

104. We called out to him, "O Abraham!

105. You have fulfilled the vision." This is how We reward those who do good.

106. Truly, this was a clear test.

107. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.

108. And preserved his good name among later generations.

109. Peace be upon Abraham!

110. This is how We reward those who do good.

111. He was truly one of Our faithful servants.

112. And We gave him glad tidings of Isaac; a prophet among the righteous.

113. We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are those who do good, and others who clearly wrong themselves.

114. And certainly, We bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron.

115. We saved them and their people from great distress.

116. And We supported them, so they became victorious.

117. We gave them the clear Book.

118. And guided them to the straight path.

119. And We preserved their good names among later generations.

120. Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.

121. This is how We reward those who do good.

122. They were truly among Our faithful servants.

123. And Elijah was surely one of the messengers.

124. He said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah?

125. Do you call upon Baal, and abandon the Best of creators?

126. Allah, your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers?"

127. But they rejected him, so they will surely be brought to judgment.

128. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

129. And We preserved his good name among later generations.

130. Peace be upon Ilyasin.

131. This is how We reward those who do good.

132. He was truly one of Our faithful servants.

133. And Lot was surely one of the messengers.

134. We saved him and all his family.

135. Except an old woman among those who remained behind.

136. Then We utterly destroyed the others.

137. You certainly pass by their ruins in the morning.

138. And at night. Will you not then understand?

139. And Jonah was surely one of the messengers.

140. He fled to the fully loaded ship.

141. So he drew lots, and was among the losers.

142. Then the whale swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.

143. Had he not been among those who glorify.

144. He would have remained in its belly until the Day they are resurrected.

145. But We cast him onto the open shore, sick.

146. And caused a gourd vine to grow over him.

147. Then We sent him to a hundred thousand people, or more.

148. They believed, so We allowed them enjoyment for a time.

149. So ask them: Does your Lord have daughters, while they have sons?

150. Or did We create the angels as females, while they were witnesses?

151. Unquestionably, it is from their falsehood that they say.

152. "Allah has begotten," — and surely they are liars.

153. Has He chosen daughters over sons?

154. What is wrong with you? How do you judge?

155. Will you not then reflect?

156. Or do you have clear authority?

157. Then bring your scripture, if you are truthful.

158. And they have claimed a relationship between Him and the jinn — yet the jinn themselves know they will surely be brought forth.

159. Glory be to Allah, far above what they describe.

160. Except for Allah's sincere servants.

161. Surely, you nor whatever you worship.

162. You cannot tempt away anyone concerning Him.

163. Except those who are to enter the Hellfire.

164. And there is not one of us but has an assigned position.

165. And truly, we are the ones who stand in ranks.

166. And truly, we are the ones who glorify Him.

167. And indeed, they used to say.

168. "If only we had a reminder like those before us.

169. We would surely have been Allah's sincere servants."

170. Yet they rejected it — soon they will know.

171. Our decree has already gone forth regarding Our servants, the messengers.

172. They will certainly be helped.

173. And surely, Our forces will prevail.

174. So turn away from them for a while.

175. And watch them — they too will soon see.

176. Do they really seek to hasten Our punishment?

177. But when it descends upon their courtyard, how terrible will be the morning of those who were warned!

178. So turn away from them for a while.

179. And watch — they too will soon see.

180. Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, far above what they describe.

181. And peace be upon the messengers.

182. And all praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
