In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. Ya. Seen.

2. By the wise Quran.

3. You are surely among the messengers.

4. Upon a straight path.

5. A revelation sent down by the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

6. So that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and who remain heedless.

7. Certainly, the decree has proven true against most of them — they will not believe.

8. We have placed shackles around their necks, reaching up to their chins, forcing their heads upward.

9. And We have placed a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, covering them completely, so they cannot see.

10. It makes no difference to them, whether you warn them or not — they will not believe.

11. You can only warn those who follow the Reminder, and fear the Most Merciful unseen; so give them glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward.

12. Truly, it is We Who bring the dead to life, and record what they have sent ahead, and the traces they leave behind. And We have accounted for everything in a clear record.

13. Give them the example of the people of the town, when the messengers came to it.

14. When We sent two messengers to them, they rejected both, so We strengthened them with a third. They said, "We have surely been sent to you."

15. The people replied, "You are only human beings like us. The Most Merciful has revealed nothing — you are simply lying."

16. The messengers said, "Our Lord knows that we have truly been sent to you.

17. And our duty is only to deliver the clear message."

18. They said, "We see you as a bad omen. If you do not stop, we will surely stone you, and you will suffer a painful punishment from us."

19. The messengers replied, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you have been reminded? Rather, you are a people who have gone too far."

20. Then, from the farthest end of the city, a man came running. He said, "My people, follow the messengers!

21. Follow those who ask no reward from you, and who are rightly guided."

22. And why should I not worship the One Who created me, and to Whom you will all return?

23. Should I take other gods besides Him? If the Most Merciful intends harm for me, their intercession would not help me at all, nor could they rescue me.

24. Then I would surely be in clear error.

25. Truly, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me!

26. It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "If only my people knew.

27. How my Lord has forgiven me, and placed me among the honored."

28. After him, We did not send down any army from heaven against his people, nor did We need to.

29. It was only a single blast — and suddenly, they were extinguished.

30. How tragic for human beings! Whenever a messenger comes to them, they mock him.

31. Have they not seen how many generations before them We destroyed, who will never return to them?

32. Yet all of them will surely be brought before Us.

33. A clear sign for them is the lifeless earth: We revive it, and bring forth grain from it, from which they eat.

34. And We placed in it gardens of date palms and grapevines, and caused springs to gush forth from it.

35. So they may eat from its fruits, which their hands did not make. Will they not then be grateful?

36. Glory be to the One Who created all things in pairs — what the earth produces, their own selves, and even things they do not know.

37. Another sign for them is the night: We strip the daylight from it, and suddenly they are in darkness.

38. And the sun runs its course toward its appointed resting place. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

39. And the moon — We have determined phases for it, until it returns like an old, curved palm stalk.

40. Neither can the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night outrun the day. Each floats along in its own orbit.

41. Another sign for them, is that We carried their descendants in the fully laden ship.

42. And We created for them similar vessels, on which they ride.

43. If We willed, We could drown them — with no one to respond to their cries, nor would they be rescued.

44. Except by Our mercy, allowing them enjoyment for a while longer.

45. When they are told, "Beware of what lies before you, and what lies behind you, so that you may receive mercy,"

46. Not a single sign from their Lord comes to them, without their turning away from it.

47. And when they are told, "Spend from what Allah has provided you," the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed someone whom Allah Himself could feed if He wished? You are clearly in error!"

48. And they say, "When will this promise come true, if you are telling the truth?"

49. They await nothing but a single blast, that will seize them while they are disputing.

50. Then they will not even have time to leave instructions, nor will they return to their families.

51. The Trumpet will be blown, and suddenly, they will rush from their graves toward their Lord.

52. They will cry, "Woe to us! Who has raised us from our resting place? This is what the Most Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth!"

53. It will be only a single blast, and then all of them will be brought before Us.

54. Today, no soul will be wronged in the slightest, and you will be repaid only for what you used to do.

55. Today, the people of Paradise are engaged in joyful activities.

56. They and their spouses will be reclining on shaded couches.

57. There they will have fruits, and whatever they desire will be theirs.

58. "Peace!" — a greeting from a Merciful Lord.

59. Separate yourselves today, O criminals!

60. Did I not make a covenant with you, O children of Adam, not to worship Satan? He is clearly your enemy.

61. And to worship Me alone? This is the straight path.

62. Yet he has led many of you astray. Did you not use your reason?

63. This is Hellfire, which you were promised.

64. Enter it today, because you used to disbelieve.

65. Today We seal their mouths; their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they used to do.

66. If We wished, We could have blinded their eyes, and they would struggle to find the path — but how could they see?

67. And if We wished, We could have transformed them right where they stood, leaving them unable to move forward or turn back.

68. Whoever We grant long life, We reverse in creation. Will they not then understand?

69. We did not teach him poetry, nor is it fitting for him. This is only a reminder, and a clear Quran.

70. To warn whoever is truly alive, and so that the decree may be fulfilled against those who disbelieve.

71. Do they not see that We created livestock for them, by Our power, and now they own them?

72. We have tamed these animals for them — some they ride, and some they eat.

73. And they have other benefits, and drinks from them. Will they not then be grateful?

74. Yet they have taken gods besides Allah, hoping to be helped.

75. But these gods cannot help them; rather, they will be assembled before them as troops brought forth.

76. So do not let their words sadden you. We know well what they hide and what they reveal.

77. Does the human being not see that We created him from a mere drop — yet suddenly he becomes an open opponent?

78. He makes comparisons for Us, forgetting his own creation, saying, "Who can bring bones back to life, after they have crumbled to dust?"

79. Say, "The One Who created them the first time, will bring them back to life — He has full knowledge of every creation."

80. He is the One Who produces fire for you from green trees, and from them you kindle flames.

81. Is not the One Who created the heavens and the earth, able to create the likes of them? Certainly! He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.

82. When He wills something, His command is simply to say, "Be," and it is.

83. So glory be to the One in Whose hand is the dominion over all things, and to Him you will all return.
