In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
1. All praise belongs to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels messengers with wings — two, three, or four. He increases in creation whatever He wills. Allah has power over all things.
2. Whatever mercy Allah opens for people, none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds, none can release after Him. He is the Almighty, the Wise.
3. O people, remember Allah's blessings upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from heaven and earth? There is no god but Him — how then are you turning away?
4. If they deny you, messengers before you were also denied. All matters return to Allah.
5. O people, Allah's promise is true. Do not let this worldly life deceive you, nor let the great deceiver mislead you about Allah.
6. Satan is truly your enemy, so treat him as an enemy. He only calls his followers to become companions of the blazing Fire.
7. Those who reject the truth, will have a severe punishment, while those who believe and do righteous deeds, will have forgiveness and a great reward.
8. Can the one whose evil deeds are made attractive to him, so he sees them as good? Allah lets stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So do not grieve yourself over them — Allah knows fully what they do.
9. It is Allah Who sends the winds, stirring up clouds that We drive to a lifeless land, reviving the earth after its death. Such will be the Resurrection.
10. Whoever desires honor, all honor belongs to Allah alone. Good words rise up to Him, and righteous deeds He elevates. But those who plot evil will have a severe punishment, and their plotting will utterly fail.
11. Allah created you from dust, then from a drop of fluid, then He made you into pairs. No female conceives or gives birth without His knowledge. No one's life is prolonged or shortened, except that it is recorded in a Book. Truly, this is easy for Allah.
12. The two seas are not alike — one fresh, sweet, pleasant to drink, and the other salty and bitter. Yet from each, you eat tender meat, and extract ornaments to wear. And you see ships plowing through them, seeking His bounty, so that you may be grateful.
13. He merges the night into the day, and the day into the night, and He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for an appointed term. Such is Allah, your Lord — to Him belongs all dominion. Those you call upon besides Him do not own even the skin of a date seed.
14. If you call upon them, they cannot hear your call; and even if they could hear, they would not respond to you. On the Day of Resurrection, they will deny your associating them with Allah. None can inform you like the One Who is All-Aware.
15. O people, you are the ones in need of Allah, while Allah alone is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy.
16. If He wills, He can remove you entirely, and bring forth a new creation.
17. And that is not difficult at all for Allah.
18. No soul burdened with sin will bear the burden of another. Even if one heavily burdened calls out for help with its load, none of it will be carried by another, even if it be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen, and establish prayer. Whoever purifies himself does so for his own benefit, and to Allah is the final return.
19. The blind and the seeing are not equal.
20. Nor are darkness and light.
21. Nor are cool shade and scorching heat.
22. Nor are the living and the dead equal. Allah causes whomever He wills to hear, but you cannot make those in the graves hear.
23. You are only a warner.
24. We have sent you with the truth — as a bearer of good news, and a warner. There has never been a community without a warner among them.
25. If they deny you, those before them also denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, scriptures, and the enlightening Book.
26. Then I seized those who disbelieved — so how was My disapproval?
27. Do you not see how Allah sends down water from the sky, bringing forth fruits of diverse colors? And in the mountains are streaks of white and red, varying in shades, and jet-black streaks.
28. Likewise, among people, animals, and livestock, there are diverse colors. Only those of His servants who have knowledge truly fear Allah. Allah is Almighty, Most Forgiving.
29. Those who recite Allah's Book, establish prayer, and spend secretly and openly from what We have provided them — they hope for a trade that will never fail.
30. So that He may grant them their rewards in full, and increase them from His bounty. He is Most Forgiving, Ever Appreciative.
31. What We have revealed to you of the Book is the truth, confirming what came before it. Allah is fully aware and watchful over His servants.
32. Then We granted the Book as an inheritance to those of Our servants whom We chose. Among them are some who wrong themselves, some who follow a moderate path, and some who excel in good deeds by Allah's permission. That is the greatest favor.
33. Gardens of eternity — they will enter them, adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments there will be silk.
34. They will say, "All praise belongs to Allah, Who has removed all sorrow from us. Truly, our Lord is Most Forgiving, Ever Appreciative.
35. He Who, out of His grace, has settled us in the Home of Permanence, where no weariness or fatigue will ever touch us."
36. But those who disbelieve will have the fire of Hell. Neither will death be decreed for them, allowing them to die, nor will its punishment be lightened for them. This is how We repay every ungrateful one.
37. There they will cry out, "Our Lord, take us out! We will do righteous deeds, unlike what we used to do!" Did We not grant you a life long enough, for anyone who wished to reflect, to do so? And the warner came to you. So taste now — there is no helper for the wrongdoers.
38. Certainly, Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth; He fully knows what lies hidden within hearts.
39. He is the One Who made you successors upon the earth. Whoever rejects the truth, their disbelief falls back upon themselves. The disbelief of those who deny increases their Lord's displeasure, and the disbelief of those who deny only deepens their loss.
40. Say, "Have you considered your partners, whom you call upon besides Allah? Show me what they have created on earth. Or do they have any share in the heavens? Or have We given them a scripture, so that they are upon clear evidence from it?" Rather, the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusion.
41. Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they vanish. If they were ever to vanish, no one else could hold them together after Him. He is ever Forbearing, Most Forgiving.
42. They swore by Allah their strongest oaths, that if a warner came to them, they would surely be more guided than any previous community. Yet when a warner did come to them, it only increased their aversion.
43. They acted arrogantly on earth, and plotted evil. But evil plotting only engulfs those who plot it. Are they waiting for anything other than the fate of earlier peoples? You will never find any change in Allah's way, nor will you find any alteration in Allah's way.
44. Have they not traveled through the land, and observed how those before them ended up, though they were far mightier in strength? Nothing in the heavens or on earth can ever frustrate Allah. He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
45. If Allah were to punish people immediately for what they have earned, He would not leave a single living creature upon the earth. But He delays them until an appointed time. When their appointed time arrives, Allah is ever watchful over His servants.
